14. Shooed Away

*Jade's POV*
I turn off my alarm and stretch in bed. I take a moment to think about my dream and wonder who could he be. My thoughts are interrupted by Esme, “Don't overthink about it Jade. I told you I don’t get a bad feeling from him. Just focus on yourself, tonight is our night.”

With that in mind I got to wash up to go down for breakfast. I see that all my family is already at the dining table. I say “Good morning lovely family.” They all respond in unison “Good morning.” I see that mom went all out with breakfast. There are many stacks of pancakes, bacon, sausage, and eggs. Mom says, “Eat up everyone. We all are going to have a busy day today. Well, except you Jade, you can have as much beauty rest as you want, although to be honest you don’t need it, you are already beautiful.”

I smile at mom’s compliment. Liam starts with his pouting, “Mom, don’t you think I need my beauty rest as well?” Mom scoffs, “Boy, you wouldn't be a beauty even if you tried.” Liam gasps in shock at what mom said, while the rest of us laugh. Liam then says “Are you sure I’m not adopted?”

Mom says, “I’m afraid not, although for some time I thought I was given the wrong pup at the pack hospital.” Liam just narrows his eyes and shakes his head at mom. I laugh so hard at their interaction. Mom then says, “Stop it with the pouting, you know I love you.”

That seems to make Liam happy and stops bantering with mom. Ava suddenly says, “I had something to tell you all.” Mom and dad nod at her to continue. “Julian has asked me to officially become his mate, I agreed, and we have decided to complete the mating ceremony at the same time as his Alpha ceremony in a month.”

Mom immediately lights up and says, “Finally Ava, I was wondering what was taking you both so long. I am happy for you honey.” My dad and brother both grunt in response, not looking please with what she just announced. I on the other hand say, “Congratulations Ava, Julian is one lucky guy to have you as a mate, and I also know you will make a great Luna.” She smiles at me and says “Thank you.”

We spend the rest of the breakfast talking about final work that has to get done for the party. When I am done eating, I decide to get ready to go to the pack house to see if there is anything I could help out with. When I am about to reach my room, I am stopped by Ava.

She says “Jade, can I talk to you really quick?” I answer, “Of course, what's up?” Ava starts, “Look I have noticed some tension between you and Julian. He has also talked to me about it and he also mentioned seeing Levi come out of you room last night.” She wiggles her eyebrows at me to ease what she just said, but my face immediately turns into an annoyed one and Ava could tell I did not like that.

She continues, “Look I already talked to him and asked him to not get involved. I also told him we are in no position to judge you, since we do the same thing. He is looking out for you, sort of like Liam does.” I can't help but ask, “Looking out for me? For what reason? He better than anyone should know that Levi is a good guy.”

She nods her head and says, “Yes, but he is probably just doing it because you are my sister, he doesn’t want you to get hurt. We all know Levi has never been in a serious relationship.”

I sigh and say “But we also know he doesn’t sleep around with the she-wolves in our pack. Julian needs to understand that I know what I am doing and he has no say in my personal life when it's not affecting the pack in any way.”

She says, “I know, I just hope you both can get along again. At least try. For me, please.” I sigh in defeat, “Okay, I will try but only for you.” She smiles and then hugs me. I then say “I should get going, I want to see if there is anything I can help out with at the pack house.” She just nods and I make my way to my room.

I quickly change into something comfortable and make my way outside. While making my way to the pack house I hear someone say, “Hello princess, how are you this morning?” I turn to see that its Emilio making his way towards me.

I smile and say, “Hey Emilio, good and you?” He responds and asks, “Good. So, how are you adjusting with the presence of your wolf?” I answer, “Good, she is really easy to get along with.” He says, “Thats great. Now that you will have your wolf, have you thought about my suggestion of joining the royal army?”

I have been thinking about it but still feel undecided. I say, “I haven't really been able to put any deep thought into it. But I will let you know as soon as I make a decision.” He says, “Of course princess, In the meantime I could help you train harder and also start training you in wolf form.”

My eyes light up with excitement, but the they quickly dim when I remember something. “Emilio I just wanted to make you aware since I know I can trust you. For some reason the Alpha and my parents don’t want me to shift in front of anyone.”

He doesn’t look surprised and says, “I am sure we can work something out.” I nod, “I hope we can, I was really looking forward to training in wolf form.” We arrive at the pack house and he says, “I will talk to the Alpha to see what we could do.” I hug him happily and say, “Thank you so much!” He pats the back of my head and says, “Anything for you princess.”

I release him and wave goodbye at him with a goofy smile plastered on my face. He gives me a curt nod and he makes his way back to where he was patrolling. When I go into the pack house you can immediately see the rustle and bustle of the busy wolves.

Further into the house I can see the Luna giving orders to all the omegas of the pack. She spots me and asks, “Jade, sweetie what are you doing here? I told your mother that she and I could handle everything, you just go and rest.”

I say, “I know Luna. I just wanted to stop by to see if there was anything could help with.” She shakes her head and says, “No sweetie just rest and make yourself more beautiful than you already are for your party." I sigh in defeat knowing how stubborn the Luna is and say, “Yes Luna, I will see you later.” She then just says, “Shoo, go away.”

On my way back to the pack house I realize I have not heard much from Esme and ask her ‘Hey Esme, are you there? Are you okay?’ She answers, ‘Yes I am, I just have to save as much energy as I can for when it's time to shift. You should do the same, we both will need it.’

I decide to listen to her and spend the rest of the day resting and lounging around. Later in the day I hear a knock at my front door, I look at the time and decide I should start getting ready after I answer the door.

When I open the door, I see a smiling Robin holding two hangers and what assume is my gown covered by a black garment bag. He says, “Hello, my favorite customer. Here is your gown, I can't wait to see you in it and congratulations by the way. I'm excited to see how it will look with the hair and makeup done.”

I smile back at him and say, “Thank you, and when I see you at the party I will give you a full show, with poses and everything.” He grins, “I wouldn’t expect anything less from my favorite.” I smile and see that Mia is making her way towards us. She says, “Hey guys."

He answers, “Hey to you too, I should get going, I will let you ladies get ready. Oh, and Mia your dress is also in that garment bag.” We both nod and I say, “Thank you so much Rob, and I will see you at the party.”

He says, “I feel honored to have you wear one of my gowns on your big day. Well bye, bye girls.” He leaves right after that. Mia says, “So, I will do your hair and I assume Ava will be in charge of makeup.” I nod my head and say, “Let’s get Ava.”

We go upstairs and knock-on Ava’s door, we let her know that we are going to start getting ready. I then make my way to my room and quickly shower, I decide not to wash my hair because of the time it would take to dry.

I put on a robe, and when I make my way back to my room, I see that Ava and Mia are all set up. They have also laid out our dresses on the bed. Mia looks up at me says, “Thank the Moon Goddess you didn’t wash your hair, it would have taken forever to dry.”

Ava just smiles and pats on the vanity chair signaling me to sit down. She has the chair turned away from the mirror because I asked them to surprise me, I would be happy as long as there is no heavy makeup. Both Mia and Ava get busy getting to work.

When they finish, they excitedly turn me around so I can face the mirror. I gasp when I see myself. My hair is in large waves in a half up-half down hair do and the waves cascade down beautifully and some pieces were left out to frame my face.

I then look at Ava’s work, she did a light layer of makeup. My face is beautifully contoured, and there is a light layer of bronzer and blush on my face. For my eyes Ava did a brown and gold smokey eye, making my jade eyes stand out. She did not use any fake eyelashes, just mascara and a thin eyeliner. What she did for my lips was completely different for me because I never wear bold colors, she painted my lips in a bold red color.

I am so happy with their work that I jump out my seat to hug them. I say “Thank you to both of you. I don’t know what I would do without my two girls.” They both smile at me and Mia says “Oh, no problem, we love having you as our doll to dress up.” We just laugh at what she said.

Since their makeup was done, I helped them with their hair. They asked me let them get in their dresses first and they would help me get in to mine last. When they helped me into the gown, I was amazed by it, I had forgotten how beautiful it was.

They both do a once over of themselves in the mirror, they then look over me. Mia then shouts excitedly “It's party time!”
