6. On Full Display

*Jades POV*

I nod at him. “Let's begin before you decide to back down.” My teasing seems to amuse him.” Jade, you know I don’t back from any challenge.” I smirk at him. “Do not hold back Alpha.” He smirks back, “Believe me, I won’t.”

We both get in our fighting stance. The rest of the werewolves stop what they are doing and form a circle around us to watch. We study each other's movements to see who will make the first move. He throws the first punch at me. I am able to dodge him successfully. I then take advantage to throw my first blow. I aim for his face but he is able to block me.

This is turning out to be one of the longest matches I have had. We have spent a lot of time throwing punches, kicking, dodging, and blocking. The both of us are starting to get tired, we are both covered in sweat. I know that in this situation I am at some disadvantage, because I still have not shifted and I will not have as much endurance as him.

I decide to throw a kick. As soon as I do, I realize my mistake. He grabs my leg and pulls it, making me fall on to my back. He pins me down and starts telling the class, “As you now can see, you have to use momentum to your benefit.” I feel a bit annoyed by the fact that he hasn’t gotten off me and is still lecturing the class while we are like this. I elbow him in the ribs, just hard enough to distract him. Then I use all my strength to flip us over. I direct my attention to the other werewolves, “when you are in real combat during an attack or in a battle make sure your opponent is dead before you focus elsewhere.”

While I am saying this, I start to feel something poking my leg. My eyes widen when I realize what it is. Julian’s erection is firmly pressing against my leg. Feeling extremely awkward in this situation, involving my sister’s boyfriend, I think of a way to get rid of the other werewolves to avoid any more awkwardness. “Go and run 5 laps around the perimeter.” I then immediately get off Julian, when I see they are a good distance away.

I waited till they were all gone because I did not want anyone else to see what happened. Mostly everyone in the pack loves to gossip and I would hate to be the target of any gossiping. I notice that Julian is staring at me with a hungry look in his eyes. He looks like a predator eyeing his prey, and at that moment I was his prey.

I notice his eyes have gone a few shades darker with lust. Being uncomfortable under his gaze, I made the mistake of looking down, and notices his erection was on full display. I need to put a stop to this now. “Can't you think of a grandma in a bikini or something else.” He shakes his head a little and shuts his eyes, trying to get out of his daze.

I notice his eyes are back to their usual color. I can tell he feels bad for what just happened because of the way he is looking at me. “Oh goddess, I’m so sorry Jade, the last thing I want is for you to feel uncomfortable around me. It is something I cannot control at times. It can be even harder to control when it involves friction and a pretty girl.” I am at a loss of what to say to him because of how awkward I feel right now. His rambling was probably intended to make me feel better, but he actually ended up making me feel more uncomfortable.

I mean I can understand for males this is just a natural response of the body. It is not the first time something like this has happened to me during training. But this is my sister’s boyfriend, who even now admitted that he found me pretty after what just happened.

Noticing I was not saying anything, he was going to start saying something else. To avoid further rambling from him, I put my hand signaling him to stop. I say, “Let’s just forget this happened and not make this a bigger deal than it actually is. If we keep talking about it, things will get even more weird.” He sighs and nods his head. “Thank you by the way.” I look at him confused, “For what exactly?” He responds, “For getting rid of the other werewolves, I know you did it to avoid any talks and gossiping about us.” I laugh. “No need to thank me, I did it saving my ass from being a gossiping topic. I also wouldn’t know how Ava would react to her boyfriend having that reaction towards her sister.” I look away from him, trying to not feel more uncomfortable than I already am.

We stand there in an awkward silence for a few minutes. Then I notice a that most of the werewolves I sent on their run were on their way back. When they all reached back to us Julian told them “Same time tomorrow, you are dismissed” Everyone responded with a firm, “Yes, Alpha!” They all start to leave. Julian then turns to me and says, “that was all for today, you can leave as well.” Not wanting to be there any longer I nod in affirmation. “I will see you tomorrow then.” He nods and we both go on our separate ways. We could have walked together since our homes are close by but we both wanted to get out of the uncomfortable situation we were in as soon as possible.

At the other end of the training grounds, I bumped into Emilio again and he starts walking with me. “Hello princess, done with training already?” I respond a short, “Yes.” He then asks, “So, how did it go?” I answer, “It went well. I did have to put this new guy in his place but other than that everything was fine.” I made sure to leave out my match with Julian. Knowing Emilio, he wouldn’t be happy about it. Even if he did train me and knows I can handle myself, he has always been very protective of me. “I am glad. I also wanted to ask you, what are your plans when you turn 18? Do you plan on staying in this pack forever or have you thought of maybe joining the royal army?”

I think about my answer for a minute. “You know I have never really thought about leaving and transferring to another pack because of my family. I would like to be part of something bigger like the royal army but, I think it would just be too hard to leave my family and the pack I was born in.” He seems to be processing my words and says, “Think about it Jade, for once think about what you want and decide on what will make you happy and not what will make others happy. I know you are meant for something greater than being the head warrior of a pack.” I think about what he just told me and stay on silence taking in his words. He continues, “It would be very easy for you to join with a recommendation from me. You are already very strong without your wolf imagine how strong you will be when you do have her. I think staying here is just going to hold you back and you know it.”

He is giving me a lot to think about and don’t really have a definite answer right now. “I will seriously think about it Emilio.” He smiles, “Please do, and I will be waiting for your answer.” We arrive to my house. I say, “I will get back to you on that, see you around.” He smiles and waves goodbye at me. I walk into my house and lean against my front door with everything he has said playing in my mind. I sigh “Goddess Emilio, you know me so well.”

I really have a lot to think about. Everyone in my pack has treated me very well because of who my parents are. But in the back of my head, I have always felt out of place, like if I am missing something. I have always wanted to join the royal army but I feel like if I wouldn’t be able to leave my family behind. Maybe Emilio does have a point and should start to think about more of what I want rather than what I think my family wants from me. I have always felt that I was meant for something bigger than becoming head warrior to a pack and just maybe the royal army is the answer I am looking for.
