23. Playing with Fire

*Jade’s POV*
I can immediately tell by his expression that he did not mean to tell me that.
I say while looking down, “I hate that you are going through this and that I am probably the reason behind it.”
He lifts my chin up and says, “Don't feel bad for something that is not even your fault. Stop blaming yourself for everything.”
I give him a weak smile, “I will try, but I can’t help it.”
He then asks, “How were you able to join the army? I ask because that has always been a dream of mine but because of my prior plans, I was never able to pursue it.”
I say, “Well if you really want to, I can ask Emilio to put in a good work for you. He is the one helping me with it.”
He nods his head and says, “I would like that.”
He then asks. “So, you really are moving on?”
I nod my head, “Yes, I am.”
Levi cups my face while giving me a look full of intensity and determination. He suddenly smashes his lips against mine.
