21. Dusk & Dawn

*Jade’s POV*

Liam and I walk back home. Thank the Goddess he was more focused on the fact that I was joining the royal army, than at Julian’s attitude.

I really don’t know what is wrong with that male. He made his choice and now he will have to live with it.

Liam interrupts my thoughts, “So, so you happen to know when you will be leaving?”

I shake my head, “No, Emilio has to speak to the general first.”

He nods and says, “I will miss seeing you every day, but I know that you need this. Especially with everything you are going through right now.”

I sigh, “I know, but I feel like this is also giving me a different view on things. This is something I always wanted to do but I felt as if everyone was just expecting me to be head warrior. I just followed the flow of things but now I realize I would have never been happy in that position.”

He smiles at me, “I was actually hoping you realized that sooner. You are meant to be so much more than just head warrior of a pack.”

“Thank you, Liam, for being the best brother ever. I love you so much.”

He smirks, “I know right, I am the best.”

I give him a hug while laughing at him. When I arrive home, I am feeling better. Almost as if a weight has been lifted from my chest. I could only hope that everyone reacts like Liam.

I fall asleep soundly, once again dreaming of those silver eyes. I am yet to find out who they belong to but I get the feeling of longing every time I have this dream.

A couple of days have gone by and my full focus has been on training. I have been getting stronger in a matter of days. Emilio explained to me that it was due to my wolf.

We have also incorporated training in wolf form as well and I am so proud of Esme. She is indeed a warrior by nature.

We are ending our training session of the day and I was wondering if Emilio has heard back from the general, so I ask him about it.

He nods, “I actually spoke to his brother and he advised me that the general was away for a personal matter. He is not sure when he will be back. But since the recommendation is coming from me, he doesn’t think there will be any issues.”

I ask, “So, does that mean I will be able to go soon?”

He responds, “I believe so. The general’s brother just said he was going to the general know about it. Just to make it official.”

I start to bounce up in down in excitement while he continues.

“He told me that if everything goes well, you will be able to go there in a week.”

I hug him. “Thank you so much. You can't even imagine how badly I needed to hear this.”

He pats my back and I release him.

“This also means you only have this weekend to rest. I will be grilling you in training until you leave. I want you at the best you have ever been before you go.”

I nod my head.

“When have I ever been afraid of training hard?”

He chuckles.

“You’re right. I will see you at our next training session.”

I wave goodbye and head home for a well needed shower. After getting all fresh and clean I go to me bed. Mia suddenly storms into my room looking pissed.

“When the hell were you planning on telling me?”

I look at her confused, “Tell you what?”

She glares at me and says, “Oh, I don’t know. Maybe, the fact that you are leaving the pack to join the royal army!”

“How did you even find out?” I ask.

She huffs, “By the asshole himself. Like, seriously Jade! Your ex-mate found out before me, your best friend!”

I sigh, “Mia, the only reason he found out was because he heard me telling Emilio that I wanted to join. I wanted to be sure I would actually get in and know exactly when I would be leaving before telling anyone.”

She pouts, “So, it's true then?” I nod my head in response.

“Emilio just informed me that I could leave as soon as next week.”

She hugs me and asks, “Why so soon?”

I hug her back and she continues, “I will miss you so much.”

I sigh, “I will miss you too, but I really need this.”

She pulls back and says, “Well, this means we have a short time to party hard, let’s try to make the most of it. ”

I roll my eye at her, “Of course only you would find this as an excuse to party.”

She just smiles, “Tonight we will hit the hottest club. Who knows we might even score ourselves a couple of hunks.”
She leaves happier than when she first arrived because I agreed to go to the club with her.

While I was getting ready, I received a text message from Levi.

Levi: Hello angel, what are you up to?

Me: Hi there. Not much, just ready to go out. What about you?

Levi: Nothing, I was actually trying to find something to do.

Me: Well, wanna come with? Mia and I are going to Dusk & Dawn.

Levi: Yeah, I’m down to go. Can’t have a bunch of horny freaks around you.

Me: You say that like you wouldn’t be one of them.

Levi: Right, you know I think I might show you how much of a horny freak I can be later tonight.

Me: Huh, can’t deny that I would mind that.

Levi: See you soon!

I finish getting ready and walk out of my room. I step out at the same time as Ava. She immediately smiles at me.

“Hey Jade, I haven't seen you around much. Is everything okay?”

I gulp, “Yeah, I just have been really busy with training.”

I feel so bad for lying to her. I can't even maintain eye contact with het because of the guilt.

“Are you sure? You have been quite distant lately.”

I sigh, of course she noticed. “Everything is fine, really. I did want to ask for all of you to be together at dinner, I have something I need to talk about with everyone.”

She nods her head, “Okay, I better get going. Julian is waiting for me.”

I just nod my head.

I wait to leave, to make sure she is gone. When I open the door, I see that is standing there looking like he was about to knock.

I take a moment to admire this handsome man. His hair has grown out a little and he has styled it in a messy but hot manner. He is wearing a black button down that is folded at the sleeves showing off all his muscles. He also left some buttons undone at the top displaying his built chest.

I ask Esme, “How can I get all hot and bothered by a male that isn't even my mate?”

She chuckled in my head, “I told you something doesn’t seems right with the bond created with Julian. You should not be this attracted to a man who is not our mate. Although I will say he is easy on the eyes.”

I am pulled from my conversation by Levi’s voice.

“Ready?”

I notice he is shamelessly checking me out, while biting his lip. I nod my head.

“Yes, we just have to go pickup Mia.”

We went to go pickup Mia. As soon as she gets in the vehicle she huffs.

“When I asked you to go out with me, I never meant to be the third weel.”

I just roll my eyes. “Like you wouldn’t ditch me for the first hot guy that approaches you.”

She scoffs. “Yeah, yeah, whatever.”

We soon arrive at the club. This club is owned by a werewolf, that means that everyone that gets in is a supernatural creature. We easily make our way inside the and head towards the bar.

We order our drinks and right away two guys approach us and start make conversation with us. I notice Levi grabs me by the waist and the two guys notice him. Now their full attention is on Mia.

I raise my eyebrow at looking at Levi. He just shrugs his shoulders. "What? Guys should get the hint that you will not be leaving this club with anyone else but me."

I say, "What makes you so sure of that?" Levi just smirks at me and says, "I will make sure of it."

I suddenly feel as if someone is watching me. I start to look around, when my eyes land on the last person I wanted to see.

His hazel eyes stare back intently at me. Why did Julian have to be here?
