Chapter 9

**Sara**

We stayed like that for a moment, our bodies intertwined, our breathing ragged. I felt his shaft softening inside me, but I didn't want him to pull out, not yet. I wanted to savor this connection, the intense intimacy of the moment.
As if reading my mind, Tom kissed my shoulder gently before pulling out and disposing of the condom. He settled back into bed, pulling me close, his arms wrapping around me possessively. I snuggled into his chest, feeling his heart slowing from its frenzied pace.
"That was..." I struggled to find the words, a lazy smile spreading across my face.
"Incredible," Tom finished, nuzzling my hair. "Definitely one for the record books."
I giggled, feeling relaxed and sated in a way I never had before. "Good thing I wore this dress, then. It definitely helped things along."
Tom's chest rumbled with laughter, and he pressed a kiss to the top of my head. "I'm glad you did. Made it easy to convince you to come home with me."
I snorted, remembering the hesitant woman in the pub. "Seems like a lifetime ago, doesn't it?"
"I know," he murmured, his fingers tracing lazy patterns on my back. "But I'm glad it happened. Glad I met you."
A warm glow spread through me at his words, and I felt myself starting to fall asleep, safe and content in his arms. "Me too," I mumbled, my eyelids growing heavy.

The sun streaming through the window woke me, and I stretched, feeling well-rested and relaxed. My eyes fluttered open, and I found myself alone in bed, a note propped up on the pillow next to me.
I picked it up and read the scrawled message:
"Went out for breakfast supplies. Hope you're hungry :) Be back soon. xx Tom"
I smiled to myself, my heart warming at the sweet gesture.
I slid out of the bed, my bare feet padding across the plush carpet. I spotted my bra and panties on the floor and quickly slipped them on, feeling a bit more put together.
My dress was in the living room, crumpled on the couch. I smoothed it out and pulled it back on, adjusting the straps. As I was zipping up the back, I heard the front door open and close.
"Hey, you're up!" Tom called out, striding into the room with a paper bag in hand. "I got us some breakfast essentials. Thought we could whip up something tasty."
I quirked an eyebrow at him. "Breakfast, huh? I thought last night was pretty satisfying."
Tom chuckled, setting the bag down on the kitchen counter. "Oh, it was. But a girl's gotta keep her strength up, right?"
I rolled my eyes playfully, moving to join him in the kitchen. "So, what did you get?"
"Well, let's see..." He started unpacking the bag and listing the items. "Eggs, bacon, toast, some fresh fruit. The essentials."
"Sounds delicious." I hopped up to sit on the counter, watching as he moved around the kitchen, getting everything ready.
As he cracked eggs into a bowl, I cleared my throat. "You know, I have to say, I'm a little surprised."
He glanced up at me, brows raised. "Oh? About what?"
"Well, I thought you would just ask for my number at the pub." I shrugged. "Didn't expect you to, you know, take me home and ravish me."
"What can I say? I'm full of surprises."
"Apparently." I leaned back on my hands, studying him. "So, is this a one-time thing, then? Or are you planning on sticking around?"
He paused, meeting my gaze. "Honestly? I'm kind of hoping for a one-time thing. I'm not really the relationship type, you know?"
I felt a small pang of disappointment, but I nodded. "Yeah, me neither. I'm not looking for anything serious."
"Good, 'cause that's what I'm all about. Just a little no-strings-attached fun."
"Sounds perfect." I hopped off the counter, moving to help him with breakfast. "So, what's on the menu, then?"
We worked together, chatting and laughing as we cooked up a delicious meal. The easy banter between us was refreshing, and I found myself genuinely enjoying his company.
As we sat down to eat, I felt content. This was exactly what I needed—a fun, casual encounter without any expectations or baggage.
"This is really good," I said between bites, savoring the flavors.
"Told you I had some tricks up my sleeve." Tom grinned, taking a sip of his coffee.
I chewed thoughtfully for a moment, then spoke up. "So, what made you decide to bring me home last night? I mean, you could have just asked for my number, but instead you..." I trailed off, a teasing smile on my lips.
"Honestly? I saw you sitting there, looking all kinds of gorgeous in that dress, and I just couldn't resist. You looked like you could use a little fun, and I was more than happy to oblige."
"Well, you certainly delivered on that front."
"That I did." He winked at me.
We fell into a comfortable silence as we continued to eat, the only sound the occasional clinking of forks against plates.
"You know, I have to say, I'm kind of relieved you're not looking for anything serious either," I said, breaking the quiet.
Tom nodded, swallowing a bite of toast. "Yeah, me too. I've never been the relationship type, and I don't plan on changing that anytime soon."
"Good." I smiled, taking a sip of my coffee. "Then we're on the same page."
"Exactly." He reached across the table, giving my hand a gentle squeeze. "Just two people enjoying each other's company, no strings attached."
I squeezed his hand back, feeling a sense of contentment wash over me. This was exactly what I needed - a fun, casual fling with no expectations or complications. And with Tom, it seemed we were both on the same page.
As we continued eating our breakfast, I felt a little giddy. Who knew a night out with my friend Jessica would lead to this? It was certainly not what I had expected, but I couldn't deny that I was thoroughly enjoying it.
