Chapter 38

Amora was practicing with a sword with intense focus. For days, she had been learning and practicing in the training grounds of the kingdom. The sword in her hand was lifted with agility. Doran, her trainer, stood a few steps ahead to monitor every movement of Amora closely.

"Focus on the basic techniques," Doran said. "Master those before attempting more complex moves."

Amora nodded and began her practice with slow movements, trying to follow Doran's instructions. Whenever she made a mistake, Doran provided clear and patient corrections, ensuring Amora understood her errors and how to correct them.

Suddenly, Prince Maxwell appeared before her. Amora immediately stopped practicing. Doran also kneeled and saluted Prince Maxwell respectfully.

"Why have you stopped practicing with the sword?" Maxwell asked.

"It's nothing."

Unexpectedly, Prince Maxwell used his power to draw a sword still sheathed in its scabbard. Then he directed the sword at Amora. Amora felt panicky, unprepared for anything. Prince Maxwell stood with an arrogant stance, glaring at Amora sharply. The sword he held shimmered with a magical aura that vibrated the air around them. Doran remained kneeling, looking on with concern.

"This is no ordinary sword. It is from our clan, passed down through generations. I want to see if you are worthy to fight with my sword," Maxwell said with a flat expression.

The fire sword began attacking Amora, controlled by Prince Maxwell. They fought. Amora mostly avoided Prince Maxwell's attacks since she was still not very skilled with the sword.

Amora struggled against the fiery sword's attacks from Prince Maxwell. Every time Maxwell swung his sword, the blazing flames shot out with speed and force that was hard to evade. Amora did everything she could to avoid jumping and spinning, relying on her instincts and the basic skills Doran had taught her. However, her movements were not always fast enough to dodge every attack.

"Weak base!" Prince Maxwell yelled at Amora.

A larger attack came from the fire sword, forcing Amora to retreat. Flames erupted around her. In her panic, Amora lost her balance and fell. Suddenly, the fire sword was swung towards Amora's face.

"Turns out, you are still very weak! Worthless base!" Prince Maxwell's eyes continued to glare at Amora.

"I've only been practicing swordsmanship for a few days, and you scold me like this?" Amora stood up immediately, not accepting Prince Maxwell's reprimand.

"Doran, you must have her practice swordsmanship constantly, and if necessary, don’t let her rest. Keep training her until she becomes the strongest!"

"Prince Maxwell, I will follow your orders," Doran replied, looking at Amora.

"I will do my best. I will not give up just because I'm not good enough yet."

"Good, because the enemy we will face later is Alice and the entire healing clan from the Vestinel region," said Prince Maxwell.

Amora understood why Prince Maxwell was so harsh with her. She promised to be more diligent in her sword practice. The name Alice always haunted her.

Prince Maxwell then left, leaving Doran and Amora behind. Amora continued her training and would not give up easily.

"How is she doing? Is she still practicing the sword?" Prince Maxwell asked, curious about Amora's current activity.

"She is still practicing, Prince. It seems she won’t stop anytime soon," Doran said, bowing his head.

"Good. It’s better if she practices constantly. She has considerable potential, and I want to make sure she fully utilizes it."

Prince Maxwell asked Doran to take him to the backyard to meet Amora, who was still training. Doran nodded in agreement and prepared to escort him.

Upon reaching the backyard, Prince Maxwell watched Amora as she practiced with the sword. His gaze remained fixed on her.

"Prince, continuous sword training like this might also exhaust her. Aren’t you worried that Amora might lose her stamina?" Doran asked, concerned about Amora’s condition.

"Let her train like that. Why should I worry about it?" Prince Maxwell kept his gaze on Amora.

As he was about to turn around, he saw Amora starting to lose her balance. The sword she was holding fell, and her body nearly collapsed. However, with lightning speed, Prince Maxwell managed to catch her.

Amora was startled to feel Prince Maxwell supporting her. She looked at him with wide eyes, her breath heavy from the exhausting training. Amora felt an intense headache. Her eyes could no longer stay open.

"Prince, Amora has fainted!" Doran shouted in surprise.

"Perhaps it's time for her to take a short rest." Prince Maxwell carried Amora and took her to her room.

Once in the room, Prince Maxwell gently placed Amora on the bed. She was extremely exhausted from relentless training.

Doran approached Prince Maxwell. "Prince, should we call the palace physician to attend to her?"

"Yes, call him here."

Prince Maxwell felt a sense of anxiety as he saw Amora fainting in front of him. He felt uneasy.

"Why am I so worried about Amora?" Prince Maxwell said softly.

"What’s wrong, Prince?" Doran asked, not hearing Prince Maxwell’s words.

"Nothing. Quickly call the palace physician now!"

Doran immediately left to follow Prince Maxwell’s orders. It was just Prince Maxwell and Amora in the room. Suddenly, Prince Maxwell sat on the edge of the bed to stay with her.

Prince Maxwell gazed at Amora’s pale face with deep concern. His hand slowly reached out to hold her hand. He tried to remain calm, even though his heart was pounding rapidly.

"Turns out, Amora is quite beautiful." Prince Maxwell smiled as he looked at Amora's face.

He leaned closer to Amora’s face. Prince Maxwell smiled and felt slightly tempted by her beauty. He looked at Amora's lips, which seemed so enticing, and was about to kiss her.

However, just then, quick footsteps were heard from Doran, who arrived with the palace physician. Prince Maxwell immediately stood up as Doran began to open the door.

The palace physician kneeled before Prince Maxwell, then stood up and examined Amora. Doran stood beside Prince Maxwell.

After the palace physician finished examining Amora, Prince Maxwell asked, "How is Amora now?"

"She is fine, Prince. Just exhausted. She will fully recover by tomorrow," the physician said.

"Thank goodness." Prince Maxwell felt relieved hearing the physician’s explanation.

Doran, standing beside him, was puzzled by Prince Maxwell’s behavior but did not dare to ask for an explanation.
