CHAPTER 36
It was a warning; they were promising to kill anyone who would try to come into their way. They didn't care about her. As if that was nothing, they terminated her pregnancy and had her womb removed.
That became as a huge blow to her. She refused to eat the weeks she came out of the hospital. She realized that they didn't care at all when they gave her more assignments and never say sorry. They even threatened her more, promised to have many of the few people she knew be killed.
So, she did what they asked of her and bided her time to take them out one day. She was patient enough and didn't strike until a year later when they totally forgot about it and were at ease. Ever since they had her man killed, they were very cautious and cooked all the food.
They were afraid and even put a lot of security. She didn't even bother to act but restrained herself until one night when they were all relaxed. She was going to kill them all including herself. What she never expected was for her to survive the attack.
She became the only survivor and since she nearly court death herself she was never questioned but became a victim. It was quite funny to learn after so many years had passed that someone was committed to killing them in the first place; someone had justice prevailed for her even without saying. They should be rotting by now.
Too bad she had their ashes thrown. She could bear to bury them. She had no money to waste to bury such people. They raised her and she was grateful for it but because of them she became a monster. It took her three years to stop being addicted to the system her parents had set for her. Now she was free and she won't be committing anything like that ever again.
“You are back?” that came as a surprise since she had forgotten that she was in the bath after hearing that sultry voice that she loves hearing a lot.
She turned her head and saw her husband standing there looking as handsome as she had last seen him.
“Yes, I'm back. How was your day?” she asked smiling at her man.
“It was lonely without you,” he said in a complaining tone as he walked towards the tub.
“Same here,” she said pasting a smile on her face, trying so hard to not think about the horrible day she had.
“You look worried, did something happen?” Lucian asked after sensing her emotions.
“I ended up in my old neighborhood today and I met some old friends. The memories just swamped me up but now I will be okay,” she said and emerged from the tub.
Lucian gave her a bath towel which she put on. Aurora put back on the clothes she had on earlier and Lucian smiled at her.
“Let's go shopping tomorrow,” he said taking her hand.
“Sure, I would love that,” she smiled at him even though inside she was raging.
“Let's go and have dinner, you should be starving by now,” Lucian said taking her hand.
“Yes, I am. I totally forgot to eat.”
Aurora followed obediently Lucian to the restaurant where they had a nice and delicious pasta for dinner.

The next day Lucian took his wife for shopping. Because he didn't want to be any unnecessary luggage between them, he didn't take any clothes with him. Now they were busy buying clothes to make the week go by. Lucky for him his wife was too impatient so she just picked whatever she saw first and liked which was cute.
All the women he had in the past really cared a lot about their image but not his one. He loved shopping with her since it didn't take too much time to buy both of their clothes. After shopping they began to tour around the place and since Aurora was raised there, she was the perfect tour guide.
From his own perspective he could tell that Aurora had half hate and half love for the city. He still had no idea how she grew up considering the scars he saw hidden beneath the tattoos she had all over her body.
They bought souvenirs for Jewel and the rest of his family and when they were done, they returned to the hotel for some rest.
The following day Lucian sent Aurora for a full massage while he took on another trip. He found the driver who took Aurora that day and he asked him where she went. He told him where his wife was and what he saw. He wanted to get to know her and since she was close to these two people then he might as well start there.
The first person he looked for was the granny who was very welcoming.
“You don't look like you are from here,” the old woman said as she gave him a seat, her gaze scrutinizing.
“I'm from Mereen. I wanted to see you before I leave,” he told her in a polite and humble way.
“I don't know you, so what can I help you with?” she asked him in a distant tone since there weren’t that close.
“I'm Olivia's husband. You know her, right?” he asked.
“Oh, so you are the man she talked about. It's good to see you. Where is she?” the old woman asked him with a happy smile on her face as she truly liked Olivia or Aurora a lot.
“She is busy doing something at the moment and I just wanted to pay my respects. Where you close to her?” he asked the old woman, he was here to know more after all.
“You can say that,” she gave a short answer as she didn’t want to divulge more about Aurora.
“I'm sorry to ask you this but can you tell me about how my wife grew up? I know that her parents did awful things to her, she told me some but I can tell there is a lot she didn't say,” he was so desperate to know more so he didn’t mind begging the old lady.
