CHAPTER 40
“I won't do that. Now he knows what I did!” Peter refused her request as he was serious about killing Lucian and getting rid of any witnesses.
“I will make sure he will never say it so please just let him go,” she begged pitifully.
“How am I supposed to know that you will keep your word?” Peter asked wanting to get some guarantee from her.
“I know he thinks I will never betray him but I will right in front of him now,” Aurora said and leaned in closer to Peter and kissed him. Tears were flowing down her cheeks as she kissed another man in front of her husband. She kissed Peter for about a minute making sure he took all the poisonous serum with him.
Lucian broke them apart and he hit Peter on the face, very angry with this act. How can he let himself wear a green hat?
“Lucian, please don't do this. I just want you to live,” she cried as she begged him but it was pointless.
The two men got to each other gain and since they were no longer concentrating on her she turned off her camera and called the police.
She wiped away her lips, erasing every trace of poison on her lips and drank another concoction she had made to remove the poison from her body. She hid in the toilet where she got rid of every trace of poison, she had brought that day.
She threw away her clutch in the furnace that always kept burning to get rid of any evidence. By the time the police arrived they found her hiding and crying like a child in the toilet.

Lucian couldn't believe what was happening at the moment. One second Aurora was gone and the next Peter came out with the intention to kill. He just defended himself when he heard the truth from Aurora. Peter was involved in the killing of Aurora's boyfriend in the past and now he wanted to kill him too.
In order to protect him Aurora did the unthinkable in front of him. It really hurt but he knew his wife was always up to something. He still couldn't witness that entire kiss so he took her away and resumed the fight. He was surprised to see the police arriving and his wife was nowhere to be seen. They were both cuffed by the police which was a first for him.
“Where is my wife?” he asked as he looked around.
He was in the car when the police came out with Aurora who was shaking with fear. Her face was all messed up from crying. He had never seen her so scared like that. It made him wonder what she was really up to.
They were taken to the police where they began to be questioned. Aurora was given a blanket and a cup of coffee which calmed her down.
After stating his identity which shocked him in the process, they began to question him.
“I told you, I went there with my wife since they knew each other since she was young. When we got there, he took her somewhere and when he got back, he tried to kill me. All I did was defending myself until the police arrived,” he explained to them, until now he didn’t understand what was wrong with that Peter for him to act rebellious like this.
“Your stories are both different. We don't trust you at all. You attacked someone in his office, isn't that too much?” the police weren’t buying this story at all, there were a lot of loopholes and they wanted to investigate more.
“My wife was there, of course she can vouch for me,” Lucian trusted Aurora a lot so he wasn’t scared of anything.
“Your wife isn't talking at all. It's like she went mute,” the officer said in an irritated tone.
“What do you mean?” he asked stupefied by this response from the officer.
“She has gone mute!” he repeated, angry with the way Lucian was acting again.
“Can I please see her? She must be scared. It will be for just a minute and I have to call my lawyer,” he asked anxiously and they allowed him, as this was the only way they could get more of what they wanted.
He was taken to where his wife was. She looked very horrible; she seemed to be out of space. He knelt in front of her and shook her. She looked at him and tears began to flow again. She tried to speak but no word came out.
“I'm sorry,” she mouthed as tears streamed down her cheeks.
“It's okay baby. As long as you are fine,” he said and hugged her, his heart aching for her.
He looked at her again when she suddenly jumped and he and the officers looked at her. She was looking for something and she found it. She took out her phone and gave it to him.
“Is there something in there?” he asked her seeing how she was acting and she nodded in response.
“I filmed everything,” she mouthed with a faint smile on her face and he opened her phone immediately and found the video she was talking about.
“My wife filmed the whole thing. You can look at it yourselves,” he told the officers with a relieved expression on his face.
The officers took his wife's phone and connected it to their pc. They found the video and began to play it.
He knew that his wife was a genius, no wonder why she delayed to show up earlier. The video showed the two of them fighting and Peter was spilling everything.
He confessed about him killing Olivia's boyfriend four years ago, he confessed about his intention to kill him and Aurora at the same time. The video even showed Peter and Aurora kissing before he stopped everything and Peter shoved Aurora away. She was hurt, he realized that now. After that the video didn't show anything at all.
