CHAPTER 39

Aurora showed up some minutes later with a full tray of snacks and juice. She placed them at the table and served the three of them.
“Thank you,” the old woman said.
“No problem. How about I leave the two of you to chat while I put the groceries in the fridge?”
“That's a good idea. I would love to chat more with this handsome man,” granny said and Aurora left the two to have a chat.
Aurora began to put the food where it belonged one by one. She couldn't put the poison in the food that she bought so she resorted to other means. The old lady was sick already and taking pills, so she put the oleander serum on the pills. By the time the old lady takes them and suffers her fate, by then they will be gone and nothing will stick on her.
She came out of the kitchen happily since she had succeeded in planting the poison.
After thirty minutes or so they left the old lady and went to their next destination. It was Peter again, the guy who didn't like him and he still haven't gotten anything about him yet.
They went inside and after the introductions they both acted as if they have never seen each other before.
“Olivia, can we talk for a moment?” Peter suddenly asked and she agreed since there was no need for her to reject him.
She kissed him lightly on his lips and whispered, “I will be right back.”
He smiled at her and wondered what those two would be up to but he trusted her at least. She would never betray him, so he was at ease letting her go with that sly fox Peter.
Aurora followed Peter into his other office, it was all sound proof, so there was no need to fear being heard.
“What do you want to talk to me about?” she asked wondering what Peter wanted from her.
“He came here the other day. He wanted to know about you,” Peter angrily informed her as he wasn’t happy about Lucian snooping around.
“I know,” she replied calmly as if she wasn’t concerned and this didn’t make Peter happy.
“And you let him do just that. Are you crazy?” Peter couldn’t believe that Olivia whom he had watched grow, was now a fool blinded by love, didn’t she understand the risk involved in all of this?
“I love him and I can't stop him from doing what he wants. If I was him, I would still do the same,” she said supporting Lucian all the way.
“You are still a fool!” Peter suddenly changed his tone that made Aurora feel eerie.
“Excuse me!” Aurora wasn’t too happy to hear this from Peter.
“How can you be such a fool? After everything I did for you, can't you see my true feelings towards you? How could you come and parade him in front of me like that?” Peter was fuming.
How can he just be calm when the woman he loves and had tried his best to stay away from and conceal his love and desire for her, suddenly appears right in front him, happy with another man?
“You are like an uncle to me. How can you say that?” she asked surprisingly still trying to let the revelation sinks as the shock was simply too much for her.
“Why shouldn't I do that? Since you hurt me like this then I might as well return the favor!” he said and it was obvious that Peter was about to go berserk and this wasn’t a good thing.
“What are you talking about?” she asked Peter nervously, she was afraid of this man. Apart from her adoptive parents, Peter was the most dangerous person she had ever known.
“I killed him, that lousy boyfriend of yours!” Peter confessed with a smirk on his face, enjoying every second of it.
“What?” she asked filled with shock especially with the news that Peter just dropped on her, she couldn't believe this was happening especially with Lucian waiting for in the other room.
“Yes, I really hated him so much, so I had him gone. I wanted you to see what would happen if you let anyone in your heart. But it seemed you never learned anything at all,” he said grabbing her by the collar, very angry to see that Aurora moved on and forgot about the pain of losing her first boyfriend.
“How dare you?” she screamed at him, her eyes red and teary.
“I will kill your husband first and then you afterwards. I will make you watch and let you realize what a great mistake you made for not choosing me but those ingrates!” he said and pushed her away in the corner, his mind already on murder.
Peter left and she followed him rushed, afraid that if she is too late, her Lucian will be dead and gone. She will probably not be able to take it and follow him, how sad it will be for Jewel and Joan waiting for them? When she arrived the two men were fighting.
“Stop it okay?” she yelled at the two fighting like crazy but no one listened to her.
“I will kill him!” Peter kept shouting like a lunatic and Aurora turned on her camera. She was about to put on a huge show, and only herself was going to win this and not anyone else.
She applied the oleander serum on her lips and walked towards the two men who were banging everything. She pulled away her husband from Peter and she looked at him tears flowing down.
“I will not let you kill another man I love again,” she said looking at Lucian who didn't get what she was saying before she turned to face Peter.
“I will leave him for you so please just let him go,” she pleaded with him but she knew Peter. Once he bites, he will never let go.
