Chapter 20

Ash stared quietly at the scar, he slowly used his fingers to trace it, his cold gaze which he always had softened. Steve was stunned and too shocked to move and say anything, and Steve seemed he wasn't done checking the scar.

" the files mentioned that his mother abused him a lot when he was a child. That he had a surgery due to her hitting him with a glass, the glass broke and a piece cut his neck causing a huge bloody wound "

Ash recalled the contents of the files.

" is it why he is so obedient to his mom? is it the reason why he's never going against her? What kind of childhood did you have? "

He couldn't help but sympathize with Steve, he regreted his actions towards Steve. Steve quickly regained his senses and pull his clothes trying to cover up his scar.

* It's none of your business, so you don't need to bother yourself with such trival thing *

He sneer at Ash. Ash suddenly lean towards him and pull his clothes down a bit, he gently place a kiss on Steve's scar. Steve yelp and quickly push Ash away.

* Are you out of your mind?! *

Steve wanted to resist more but Ash quickly carry him up in his arms.

* W ..... What .... are ... you ... doing ?! *

His face heated up and turn red, he started to struggle trying to get out of Ash's hold. But Ash started to walk ignoring his struggles and rants.

* Let me go ... just put me down I can walk by myself!! What do you even want from me?!! *

He asked and Ash continued to ignore him,

* Stop moving around. I'm just taking you out to eat something good *

Ash nonchalantly replied, Ash drove them to a very big and famous restaurant, the owner of the restaurant personally came to welcome them when they got there,

* Sirs, please come with me *

the owner said and guided them to the VIP area. Steve was reluctant to follow since he didn't like the idea of now starting to go on dates with Ash when he's already planning on leaving.

* Seriously what's the meaning of this? You can have dinner with anyone, didn't it have to me specifically? *

he ask Ash in an annoyed tone.

* Yes, just order anything you like I'll pay. I want to treat you to dinner tonight *

Ash replied as he was beaming with happiness, he couldn't hide his happy look. Steve looked at him in shock,

* Are you sure you aren't sick? Should we visit the doctor for a check up?! *

he replied coldly. Ash closed his eyes and sigh,

* I'm perfectly fine, is it bad to want to take my wife out for dinner? *

he said to Steve in a serious tone. The owner of the restaurant came to take their orders he handed the menu book to Ash,

* Sirs, what would you like to have tonight? *

he politely asked them. Ash quickly pass the menu book to Steve with a warm smile,

* here you go, just order for anything you feel like eating *

Steve took the menu book from Ash, but he kept staring intensively at Ash. Steve didn't know what to make of this.

" So Ash really wants to buy me dinner? He's never done that for me in the past, why start now? There's no time to think of his hidden agenda now, I'll just go along with this for now "

he thought. Steve look between Ash and the menu,

* Can I order anything and everything I want? * he ask Ash.

* You can even order the whole menu if you want *

Ash quickly reply back. Steve start to order,

* I'd like ten servings of broiled lobster tails, ten servings of braised crabs in white sauce, ten servings of medium cooked steak, two servings of shrimp tempura, ten servings of shrimp with avocado sauce and on top of that another ten servings of crispy chicken, five servings of Scottish smoked salmon and ten bottles of non-alcoholic champagne, bring me the best you have. I would also like to order ... *

The manager's face started to cringe, he felt happy they were going to spend that much in his restaurant, but he was tired if taking all those orders. He finish taking Hinata's orders and walk away to have the orders prepared.

" This is literally a waste of money!! Even tho this amount means nothing to both of us, but still .... "

he was busily thinking when his eyes met that of Ash's who was busily smirking and smiling at him.

" the look he is giving me now makes my scalp tingle " Steve thought.

* Is that all you want to order? You can order more if it isn't enough for you. There's no need to worry about the amount you spend * Ash said to him.

* No .... I'm done * he quickly reply back waving his hand at Ash.

* Really? * Ash sadly ask him.

Steve fold his hand over his chest,

* thank you for your generosity but that's all *

he reply to Ash and turn his head away from Steve's stares. The manager came to take the rest of the order but Steve shooed him away,

* I don't need anything more * he said to the manager.

* Alright sir, please wait a bit while we prepare your order * the manager said and politely excuse himself and walk away.


After about ten to twenty minutes of waiting, the manager started to serve them, the table was filled with varieties of goods. Steve's eyes sparkle when their foods were served, he quickly dig in. Ash started to cut the steak for him and place it on his plate,

* Here, try this *

Steve didn't refuse him and pick the slice of steak with his fork into his mouth. He started to chew and moan in excitement, his face lit up like that of a kid given candy.

" It's so delicious!!! I do have delicious foods at home but foods made by trained chefs in restaurants taste different "

he thought and continued to chew like a kid. Ash rest his head on his palm and kept staring at his wife's childish and cute reactions.

" Steve looks so happy and cute right now compare to how gloomy he usually is, I want to see this face always from now on. Maybe if I ask him to forgive me and give me a chance, will he? "

Ash was brought out of his thought when Steve tap his shoulder.

* Ash, actually there's something I was going to ask if you *

he nervously said to Ash.

* Tell me what the matter is about * Kageyama asked.

* I ... I ... want ... to .... l ... leave ... the mansion, I ... want to rent an apartment and stay there for a few months. I'm not asking for a divorce. I know you own me, but please just to sort out things on my own *

He stuttered and Ash's eyes almost bulge out if their sockets, his ears almost fell off his face.

* What??!! * Ash shouted.

* I won't move to somewhere far from the mansion, you can have your men tail me. Please Ash *

he started to please with Ash. Ash stayed quiet for a couple of minutes before speaking again.

* I'll visit you whenever I want at your new place, if you accept this condition then I'll allow you *

He said to Steve in a serious tone which made Steve shock to hear that Ash will allow him to move, he thought Ash would get angry and lock him up again in the mansion so he had already planned an escape plan.

* Sure you can visit, but not frequently *

he quickly reply to Ash. Steve thought it was best to agree to him visiting or Ash might change his mind.

* When do you plan on moving out, I can. help you get the apartment *

Ash asked him in a sad tone.

* Can be a month or two, I will get the apartment myself "

Steve replied back and they both ate in silence.
