Chapter 27

Ash drove in high speed in hopes of getting to Steve before his mom does anything bad to him, his thoughts were only filled with what Zack had called to tell him and he was in panic.
Steve walked into his mom's Villa after he got out of the taxi when the maid hurried to him and take his suitcase, but he started to feel anxious when he felt something just didn't feel right with how the maid acted and how his mom's home felt.
" She's acting all weird and scared *
he thought and quietly walk behind the maid scanning the house slowly.
* Where's my mom? *
Steve asked the maid and she started to look terrified and scared
* Madam .... I ... is ... in the hall *
She stuttered avoiding his gaze. Steve started to feel more anxious as they walk in the house, his senses were all screaming at him to leave but he pushed the thoughts away and walk into the Hall. He was surprised to see his mom who claimed to be very sick sitting in the with a man who looked like a big business as they consumed in alcohol while they chat and laugh, he noticed five men seated in the hall too who looked like thugs. His mom noticed him and she smiles at him in a very sinister way which scared him.
* Ooh look who has come home to see mommy, my ungrateful son Steve has come to see me *
She said to him and he quietly walk to her taking the glass of alcohol from her hand.
* Mom, what are you doing? You should be in bed resting *
Steve worriedly said to her and she pushes him away from her,
* So you'll only come to see me when I'm on my death bed *
She screamed at him on top of her lungs.
* Mom I only came to pay my respects to you and see you since I was told you're unwell *
Steve said to her which made her laugh.
* Our relationship as mother and son is no more between us, I hope from my heart mom, I truly hope you live well and I wish you well too *
Steve said to his mom and it enraged her and she slap him across his face.
* Nothing is over now nor will it ever be!! You're going to sign the ownership of your flower shop to this gentleman here and you're going to go with him as his playmate!!! *
his mom said and walk to the business man.
* You're my son? My flesh and blood and you're to go with him as the payment of my debt to him!! *
she glared at him and said in a very sinister way, Steve stood there dumbfounded and stare at his mom in purr disgust and bewilderment.
* Mom that's bullsh*t!! I am not some property you own which you can gift to anyone you feel like you can get money from!!! Don't even think I'm going to sign my shop over to him nor am I going anywhere with him!!! *
He yelled back at his mom and they started to argue, Steve started to feel it was dangerous being with them so he pick up his suitcase and started to walk to the entrance. But his mom quickly grab hold of his backpack from behind and pulled him back,
* Mom let go of me!! What do you think you're doing?!!! *
he yelled at her and the thugs came over to them and held him one got behind and press Steve against his chest, Steve's mom quick pull the backpack from his back and the thugs let go of him. Steve fell on his knees and started to cry out in pain.
* It hurts ...... mom ..... it hurts *
he said to his mom in tears but she ignored his cries and took out a file which states Steve was transferring his flower shop to the business man, she takes his hand and pressed his thumb on an ink the onto the document. She quickly walk over to the business man and hand the document to him while Steve was on his knees still crying out in pain .
* M ... my .... stomach .... hurts *
his tears started to fall more but his mom continued to ignore him.
* Somebody help me .... Ash ... help me!! *
Steve started to shout for help but his mom ordered the thugs to take him to the business man's cat, they started to raise him up when he mustered up all the strength he has left and struggle and free himself from their hold. He quickly crawl to his mom and held her feet
* Mom please, I'm begging you don't do this to me. I'll do everything you ask me to from now on *
his tears started to fall non-stop as he cries and begged his mom but she kick him away from her and he fell back and knock the glass from the table and broke into pieces. Steve pick up a shard of the broken glass and held it to his neck,
* Mom make them go or I'll cut my throat and you won't earn anything *
he threatened his mom which made the business man started to laugh and walk over to Steve, he squat down and held Steve's jaw. He was about to kiss Steve when Steve pushed him and stab him on the leg with the glass shard, the business man screamed in pain and anger. Steve quickly curl himself up when the business man started to kick Steve and stomp on his back, he continued to kick Steve until Steve laid flat on the ground unconscious. Steve's mom started to apologise to the business man when the door was kicked open and Ash quickly barge into the Hall and saw Steve laying on the floor unconscious with blood all over his face and body. Ash hurriedly started to walk over to Steve but was stopped in his tracks by the thugs.
* You can not just barge in here as if you own this place!!! This is a private property!!! *
his step mom yelled at him and Ash glared dangerously at her and the thugs.
* if you know what's best for you, you'll get out of my way!!! *
Ash ordered them and quickly took out his phone from his pocket and showed it to them. Their eyes widened in horror when they saw that Ash had already called, but before the thugs and business man could attempt to escape the policies had already surround the house. His step mom looked at him in horror, Ash quickly carried Steve to his car and drove to the same hospital which Steve had been visiting.
Dr. Eliot was shocked to see Steve brought to the hospital in that state, he quickly run over to Ash as they took Steve to the operation room. Ash wanted to ask Eliot how he knew Steve but quickly dismissed that as he thought treating Steve mattered more. He called his agent to investigate what had happened to Steve and asked Mavis to being his lawyer to the hospital.
Ash was quietly waiting as the doctors operate on Steve, he felt so worries and restless
* Please Steve don't die on me. It's all my fault!! *
he muttered to himself. He was still waiting when Mavis walk to him in hurry with his lawyer and holding an envelope
* Sir this was sent to you *
she said and quickly hand the envelope to him. Ash became enraged when he read the results of the investigation,
* it seems his mom had prepared everything in wait for him, she's truly heartless!! she doesn't deserve to call herself a mother *
Ash shouted and tore the first document he read into pieces. He took another document and saw it was about Steve's flower shop which stated he transferred the ownership to someone else, he quickly look at his lawyer,
* I want you to start a lawsuit, he was definitely forced to sign this!! I want to have everyone who was present in the house jailed for eternity!! *
Ash shouted to his lawyer and he nodded,
* But sir what about the Madam? *
The lawyer asked Ash which made him go silent for a minute thinking of what to do to his step mom.
* Tell them to keep her in the interrogation room for now. I don't think Steve will be happy if I lock her up so I'll let him decide for now, but I'll go see her myself first when his operation is done *
Ash said to his lawyer and the lawyer nod and left. Suddenly the operation room door opened and Eliot walk out holding the results of Steve's scan and tests, Ash quickly walk to him,
* How's he doing? *
he worriedly asked Eliot.
* His life is no more in danger now. Who are you to him? *
Eliot said and asked Ash in anger.
* I am his husband *
Ash quickly reply back to Eliot and he showed Ash Steve's scan in anger.
* How could you let this happen to him, you never accompanied him for his check ups and now this!! He has experienced abdominal pain and internal bleeding, but fortunately the heavy wounds he received were mainly concentrated on his back, or his unborn baby wouldn't have made it!! *
Eliot yelled and explain to Ash. Ash was stunned and shock to head that Steve was with a child.
* Check ups? I didn't accompany him? So he already know and didn't tell me he's with a child? *
Ash asked Eliot in disbelief and Eliot looked at him in shock too.
* Didn't he tell you? He said his partner had traveled *
Eliot said to him.
* He didn't inform me and I never traveled to anywhere! Doctor are they both okay? *
Ash replied back to him in anger and worriedly asked him. Ash talked more to Dr. Eliot about Steve's condition for awhile before Eliot walk away to take care of his other patients. Ash walked into Steve's room and sat on a stool beside Steve's bed, he started to caress Steve's cheeks as he wipes away the sweat beads from his forehead.
* It's all my fault and I am to blame, but I promise you I'll do right by you and our baby, I'll make them pay for what they've done to the both of you. I'll properly ask for your forgiveness, I've wronged you so much and I know you've put up with it for a very long time and I just hope you give me one last chance to prove myself worthy to you and our baby, Steve I promise you that *
he whispered into Steve's ears and kiss his forehead.
