Chapter 34

Ash's face widened in horror and his heart started to pound loud in his chest, he felt as if his world had come to an end when he heard Steve say that
" Steve! Tell me the situation! Steve! Steve! "
He called out to Steve but there was no answer which made him started to panic more, he stood up from his chair and run out of his office
" Call the fire service to Steve's shop now! Tell them to get there in a hurry and call my agents to there too! "
he yelled and ordered Mavis who quickly nod her head in understanding, Ash run out to the parking loft and got to his car and sped out of the company. He drove in speed to Steve's shop to meet the fire service truck already putting out the fire, he hurriedly got down from the car when one of his agents ran over to him. He ignored the agent and ran to the shop and was about to run into the fire when his agent grabbed and hold him tight,
" what the hell do you think you're doing?! "
he yelled as he elbowed the agent in his stomach which made the agent groaned and grunt, but the agent didn't let go and still held him in place
" Sir please calm down the Young Master had been rescued and taken to the hospital, he is in the ICU now "
Ash stopped struggling when he heard the agent say that which made the agent let go of him, Ash started to run back to his car and the agent followed behind
" Sir please let me drive "
the agent quickly said to him and Ash let him, he drove then to the hospital and they walked in. Eliot hurriedly walked to him when he saw him and led Ash to Steve's room.
" You're only allowed in for twenty minutes "
Eliot said to him and walked out giving him some time alone, Tears started to run down his eyes as he slowly took Steve's hand into his and he knelt down and started to sob bitterly.
" I failed you yet again, after I promised to take care of you and take responsibilities I met this happened to you again. Steve I am a failure of a husband, I couldn't prevent this from happening. I nearly lost you again, Steve I am sorry I didn't try my best to prevent this from happening, I am sorry I wasn't there with you, it should've been me not you! "
Ash cried his eyes out as he felt dejected and angry, Eliot walked in to him when his time was up and they both walked out.
" How's he doing? Is his life in danger? How's .... the .... baby? "
Ash asked worried and in panic as he lowered his heard to the floor,
" They're both fine and being taken care of, he didn't suffer any burns or so, the only problem was the smoke he breathed in clouded his lungs but he'll be okay in a few days of treatment and the baby didn't suffer any heavy damage "
Eliot patted his should as he said that to him which made Ash sighed in relieve and hugged Eliot feeling glad, he stood by Hinata's room and watched him through the glass as Mavis walked to him when she reached the hospital.
" Sir how's he? "
she worriedly asked and Ash smiled sadly
" the doctor said there's no heavy damage so he'll be fine, he's still unconscious "
he said to her in a sad tone and she smiled
" sir he'll wake up soon, have strength "
she said to him and he nodded
" how's the situation at the shop, did they find out what happened? "
he worriedly asked her and her face turned serious
" the reports says inside of the shop smelled like petrol and the outside was locked when the fire service truck got there, sir it seems someone deliberately started the fire knowing that the Young Master was in there and the person locked the door from behind too "
Ash turned to her with his face serious and void of emotions, he felt so angry and was out for blood
" has the investigations started? what have the found out now? "
he asked her in a very serious and angry tone with his face darkened which made her flinched
" the police have gotten hold of footages from a nearby CCTV camera, they're going through with some of the agents in the station "
his face darkened more after she said that to him
" where's the agent I came here with? "
he asked her
" he is has also gone to station when I have him the information "
she hurriedly replied back to him
" I'm also going to the station now, call me if anything and let me know about all situations here. I'll send some of the agents to come guard the room "
he walked out of the hospital after he said that to her and drove to the police station, he called an agent who led him to where the footages were being watched. They continued to watch attentively all the videos from the footages and they saw nothing that could help them with the investigation, they only had one video left to watch which made Ash more angry than he was as he felt the footages weren't helping. Ash angrily got up from his chair and walked out of the station for a smoke, he was busily puffing out smoke when an agent ran to him in a hurry
" Sir you might want to come see this, "
he said to Ash and they both walked back in in a hurry, they have Ash space as they played the footage for him. In the footage showed Zack and three guys walked into Steve's shop with each holding containers, they walked out after a few minutes and Zack light up a cigarette and puffed it a few times before he threw it in the shop and they closed and locked the shop before running from there. Ash started seeing red and his chest started to raise up and down,
" I want all of them here now! Find them now! none of them should escape! "
he ordered everyone one of them and his agents quickly ran out as the police also left with their cars, Ash sat down on the and leaned forward as he placed both his hands on his laps and clasped them together
" this is all my fault, I knew he was involved in the first incidence but I chose to let him go and now he has done something worst. I caused this to Steve and I will never forgive myself for this, all of this happened because I got involved with someone like Zack! "
Ash felt to blame himself and he felt dejected, he was deep in thoughts when an officer walked into the room to him
" Mr. Martin we've caught the culprit's henchmen "
Ash abruptly stood up from the chair as soon as the officer said that and he followed him to the front desks.
" What about Zack himself?! "
he asked them in anger
" Sir he is still on the run, we have people all around in search of him. Be assured that he will be arrested and brought here "
an officer quickly replied back which earned him a dangerous glare from Ash.
" I have no use for his henchmen, interrogate them for his location and make sure they suffer a lot before you lock them up! "
Ash said in a dangerous tone which made Zack's henchmen started to panic and plead with him
" sir please we're sorry, Zack said there was no one in there. We didn't know someone was still in sir please "
they said in unison which made Ash angry more and kicking each of them in the stomach
" that someone is my pregnant wife who's fighting for his life and that of our baby in the hospital! the footage clearly showed that you knew and that's why you locked the door before running! I'm going to make you suffer for the rest of your lives! don't think I'm just going to jail you because you're going there for life and I'll pay people there to harass you for the rest of your puny lives! "
Ash shouted on top of his lungs as the officers draged them to the interrogation room, he took out his phone and called his lawyer to prepare a lawsuit. Ash's heart was heavy as he thought about Steve who was still unconscious in the hospital, Ash's heart was burdened with guilt as he blamed himself for Steve's situation. He dialed for a building company as he asked for Steve's shop to be rebuilt and renovated.
" He'll be sad when he wakes up to find the shop that way, I have to get it done before he wakes up, yea Steve doesn't have to see what his shop was reduced to "
he muttered to himself as tears fell down his cheeks, Ash couldn't hold himself with how he was feeling. He felt broken than ever and broken heartened. He drove back to the hospital but Steve was still unconscious and was still in the ICU, he wanted to go in but Eliot denied him entry which hurt him but since he wanted Steve to get better soon he listened to Eliot and stayed out. He sobbed bitterly in his heart as he stared at Steve through the glass, Steve was his world and now his world was on the verge of colapse. Ash took a seat on the bench there as he rest his head on his laps and soon fell into slumber due to exhaustion. The sun was out as morning came, Mavis walked over to him worriedly when she saw him sleeping in the hallway when she came to visit, she slowly tapped him to wake up
" Sir, It's morning you should go get some sleep at home "
she worriedly said to him as he slowly opened his sleepy eyes
" oh it's morning already? "
he asked with his husky voice
" Sir please go get some couple of hours sleep at home first, I'll call you when there's new about him "
she worriedly said to him and he jolted up from the chair as he quickly walked over to the glass to look at Steve
" He still hasn't regained consciousness? "
he asked himself feeling pained
" I'll just go take a bath and change to the station, please call me if he wakes up or any news about his health. The guards will be in this morning tell them what to do when they get here "
he said to her and walked away leaving her to watch over Steve, Ash got in his car and drove back to the mansion. Uncle Vincent worriedly walked to him when he walked into the hall
" Boss how's Young Master doing? "
Uncle Vincent worriedly asked him
" H .... He's still unconscious, but the doctor said he didn't suffer any heavy damage so he's not in danger and the baby is okay "
he said to Uncle Vincent which made Uncle Vincent sighed in relief, Ash sat in the couch and leaned back and he closed his eyes to relax a bit and take his breath.
" Boss stay strong, the Younger Master is a fighter I know he'll wake up soon "
he said to Ash trying to cheer him up which made Ash smiled sadly
" Yea, he's as stubborn as a mole, I know he won't stay down, he'll be back on his feet! "
Ash said as he got up from the couch
" Have my breakfast prepared, I'm going to take my bath and change before I go back "
Ash said to Uncle Vincent and climbed upstairs to their room.
