Chapter 17 Prenatal Education

Shelley didn't take Trista's words seriously. She told Wayne and left the company.
After she went home, she bought some fresh food from the supermarket downstairs and made a pot of cream of mushroom soup. Except for this, she also made two refreshing vegetable dishes.
At six o'clock in the evening, she went to the hospital with an insulated lunch box.
Adrian was sitting on the sofa by the window. The coffee table became a temporary desk. There was a thick pile of documents on it.
When Shelley came, he was reading the documents. He heard the heard of the door, looked up, and saw her a surprised look and the insulated lunch box in her hand.
"Are you busy with your work when you're sick?" Shelley glanced at the thick pile of documents on the coffee table. It was almost as high as her quarterly design drafts.
''Everyone says that the employee's treatment in Universe Inc. is good. But Adrian is still working when he is sick. It seems that the treatment is not that good.
It is not as good as my company.
I don't need to work at Forest Inc. after taking sick leave.'
Adrian gathered the documents on the table. "Didn't you say you have an appointment tonight?"
"It's still early, and it's not someone important." Before Shelley left the company, she told Adrian that there was an appointment tonight. "I'm worried you don't like eating the takeaway food."
A fussy eater would be more picky in food when he was sick.
She didn't know whether the meal she cooked suited his taste, so she could only try her best to do her duty.
Shelley put the insulated lunch boxes on the table and opened them one by one.
The hot and sour taste raised Adrian's appetite.
Shelley handed the fork and the spoon to Adrian. "Taste it. If you like them, I'll cook food and send it over these days. If they don't suit your taste, you can only hold on until you're discharged."
It was a fact that the food was not so delicious after being reserved in the insulated lunch box. No matter how skilled a chef was, no can could change it.
Adrian took the fork and tasted the meal.
The spicy and sour taste exploded on the tip of his tongue. He rarely ate spicy food. After a few bites, a thin layer of sweat appeared on his forehead.
But unexpectedly, the more he tasted, the more he wanted to eat.
Seeing Adrian eat half a bowl of soup, Shelley breathed a sigh of relief and smiled with great satisfaction.
"I made an appointment with them at seven o'clock. I have to leave right away. After you finish eating, put the lunch box away. I'll come over and take it back to wash," Shelley looked at the man, who seemed to be eating very well, she said softly. "Do you still need me to accompany you to the hospital tonight?"
Adrian looked up at her and said, "No. I can take care of myself."
Shelley smiled and nodded. "Okay. I'll make breakfast and bring it over tomorrow morning."
"Hum."
"I have to go." Shelley took her bag, stood up, and was about to leave.
Adrian suddenly grabbed her wrist.
His palm was slightly rough. But it was hot as if the place he was holding was about to catch fire.
Shelley was a little stunned. "Is there anything else?"
Adrian got up and went to the drawer. Then, he took something and stuffed it in Shelley's hand.
"In the afternoon, my colleague came over to send me the documents. I asked him to drive my car." Adrian looked at her and asked, "Do you have a driver's license?"
Shelley looked at the car keys in the black case lying in her palm. She nodded to him.
"It's cold today. Don't ride your e-bike." Adrian's voice was soft and casual. "I asked my colleague to order a car for you. But it will take a few days to get it. During these days, you can drive my car."
Shelley was shocked. She didn't expect he would order a car for her!
When did he order it?!
She unconsciously clutched the car key in her hand. "What about you?"
"I am a man." Adrian's answer was simple.
Shelley didn't know how to respond to him for a while.
She had once been in a relationship, but the man was the opposite of Adrian.
Adrian looked indifferent and short-spoken. He seemed challenging to get along with, but he would prepare many things in advance.
But her ex-boyfriend was different. There was always a tender smile on his face. He spoke fine-sounding words every day but had never prepared anything for her.
Shelley looked at the car key in her hand and put it into her coat pocket. "Okay, before I get the car, I'll pick you up when you get off work."
Adrian opened his mouth as if he was about to refuse, but Shelley said again, "I work freely. The management system in a mall company is not as strict as your company's."
She glanced at the thick pile of documents on the table meaningfully. Then, she looked at Adrian with sympathy.
Adrian was speechless.
There was a feeling that his work had been cold-shouldered.
He worried that Shelley would doubt him if he talked too much, so he nodded and said, "Okay. It is up to you."
It was a minute to seven o'clock when Shelley arrived at Andrew Restaurant.
When she opened the restaurant door, Trista approached her and scolded, "Didn't I tell you to dress up beautifully? Why are you dressed like this?"
Shelley looked down at her clothes.
She wore a beige sweater, light blue jeans, sheepskin boots, and a long brown down jacket outside. Half of her face was hidden under the cashmere scarf. Her long hair was a little disheveled by the wind when she walked to the door from the parking lot. But her clothes were clean and tidy. There was nothing wrong with it.
"What's wrong with my clothes?" Shelley frowned.
Trista glared at her and didn't bother to explain it. "Forget it. Take off your down jacket in a while."
She didn't notice that a man and woman sat by the window when Trista led her into the restaurant.
She didn't notice that when Trista led her into the restaurant, a man and woman sat by the window.
Seeing Shelley, the woman immediately raised her eyebrows in surprise. She grabbed the man's arm and pointed at Shelley excitedly.
If Shelley were here, she would hear the woman's words. "Shelley! She is Shelley! She is Adrian's flash marriage wife. Adrian loves her very much and treats her as his baby. He didn't allow me to say too much, fearing I would scare her. You didn't see his careful expression at that time."
If Shelley heard it, she would show an embarrassed smile.
It was a... misunderstanding.
The man opposite the woman endured the pain in his arm from being pinched by her nails. He coaxed her with doting eyes, "Okay, okay, I know. Don't get excited. The doctor said that the first three months are crucial. You need to maintain a stable mood."
Evelyn slapped him on his arm and said, "Do you think we should say hello to her?"
"No need," Caleb's arm was red, but he dared not even touch it. "Adrian doesn't want us to bother her. He probably doesn't want her to get involved in the affairs of the Layton family for the time being. You know his younger brother and stepmother are not good people."
Evelyn nodded in agreement ad echoed, "Casper! That bastard! It's all his fault! Adrian didn't tell Shelley about his identity because of the bastard!"
Hearing her rude words, Caleb put on a straight face. "Baby, remember the prenatal education."
Evelyn reacted immediately and touched her belly.
"Baby, you didn't hear anything just now."
Then, she couldn't help looking at Shelley.
Shelley was walking to the bathroom. On the dining table behind her, a man with glasses sneakily took a pill from his pocket.
