Chapter 48: Jealousy, Jokes, and Fire

*When we finished, I immediately took the first aid kit from the room and immediately returned to him. He was sitting on the sofa when I slowly took his injured hand. He was about to stop me but didn't do it.*

**Chapter 48**

"Thank you, Fire. I appreciate you cooking for me, but next time be careful, okay?" I said as I put the Band-Aid on his injured finger.

"I don't care if I get hurt, but I badly want to cook for you."

I looked at him and caressed his hand. "I'm going to teach you how to cook then," I said.

I saw a strange sparkle in his eyes and his lips slowly arched. I raised an eyebrow and narrowed my eyes at him.

"I'll teach you to cook. We won't do anything else," I assured him.

"I thought we're going to f*ck here in the kitchen...."

"Shut up, Fire!" I scolded.

"Admit it, Se. You like that thought?" he asked foolishly.

I feel the reddening of my cheeks and the shrinking of the whole living room. I gradually felt the heat that enveloped my entire system while staring into his seductive eyes.

I blinked and winced. "I don't know about you!" I snorted and lightly hit his shoulder.

TAYLOR'S SWEETS. That's what's written in the coffee shop I work at. Fire and I went inside and the owner immediately greeted us.

He smiled so I smiled back. Her beauty is really starstruck. If I were only a boy, she is the type of girl I would date. She's poised and elegant even in her skirt and white blouse.

"Dash! It's so good to see you," he said when he got close to where Fire and I were standing.

I looked back and forth at the two of them. Do they know each other?

"It's nice to see you again, Taylor," Fire greeted my boss with a smile. I feel like a lost child because I don't know what's going on.

"I need to go. Take care of my lovely Solene, okay?" he told my boss.

"I will! Don't worry!" answered my boss.

After their conversation, Fire’s attention went to me. "Good luck to you on your first day. I'll come by later." He kissed me on the cheek then walked away.

Fire was going out the glass door when I said goodbye to my boss. I chased after him because I had to ask him something.

"Wait, Fire!" I grabbed his shoulder to stop him. He immediately faced me and gave me a questioning look,

"Do you and my boss know each other?"

"Yeah! She was my senior when I studied in the States, why?"

"I-Is it because of you that I was accepted here?" I bit my lower lip while waiting for his answer. But I was just surprised when he ruffled my hair before he finally answered.

"Silly, I didn't do anything. You got the job because you worked for it. Taylor saw something in you so he hired you. Don't think that because of me you got in. You got in because of your ability and effort.

I don't know but I got emotional because of what he said. This is the first time someone has praised me for my ability and it feels good.

"I'll wait for you later. Let's go!" I said. I might end up crying in front of him.

"Always remember that whatever you do, I'm proud of you...." he said and got on his big bike and left.

I did my best when it came to work, that's why Ms. Taylor was very happy about me. As the days went by, I got used to the work here.

Fire also picks me up every day. Sometimes, I could tell from his face that he was tired, but I never heard a single complaint from him.

I feel sad because I feel like I don't reciprocate his efforts, especially now, I rarely get to watch him sing on the East Side because I'm busy with my work. We are both busy, but Fire always finds a way so that even for a moment in a day, we can have time with each other.

That's why this is my second week at Taylor Sweets, even though I stayed up a bit I tried to watch Fire last night on the East Side. I just really want to get back at him. Even though I'm sleepy at work right now, it's okay because I can rest after my duty.

"Solene, there's someone outside, looking for you," my colleague Lyra said while I was at the counter. It's surprising because I don't have any visitors expected today. It can't be Lianne because I know that girl is on Isla Gigantes and is definitely looking for a boylet.

Fire is impossible because he just left.

Or maybe Shan? But why would he visit me, since we see each other because we are staying close to each other? But if anything, Shan is also possible. I haven't been bothered by that noise for a few days, eh.

I do think Shan has a problem because I saw him deep in thought last week while looking at something on his cell phone. It's weird because he's always smiling. But in reality, no one knows what other people are thinking when they are alone. And maybe, Shan is one of them.

And why did he suddenly come to my mind? I'm sure Fire's temper will explode again when he finds out I'm thinking about another man!

I remember the other day we had a fight because he was offended by me fangirling over EXO's Tao and Chanyeol. Who would have thought that he would walk out while I was all emoting watching EXO Showtime. If Tao and Chanyeol were really close to me, Fire would be who you are to me that's it! "What?"

My thoughts were interrupted when Lyra tapped me on the shoulder.

"Someone is looking for you outside..."

I tried to smile. "I said so. I'm going out."

Even though there was a surprise in my mind, I went out anyway. When I met the person Lyra was referring to, I immediately frowned.

What is she doing here? She was one of those people I didn't expect to see me so it was surprising.
