Chapter 11

Lost in thoughts with no idea of how she could get out of where she stood, Evelyn's worries increased when she felt the presence of someone standing behind her, she shuddered while swallowing hard to send a message.
"Come with me" he muttered and she closed her eyes, folded her fist and swiveled at the being behind her. She suddenly let out a sharp gasp as tears flowed down her eyes.
"How did you get here?" She asked in a serene voice while letting.out a sad smile.
"I could go through storm for you Evelyn..."
"I missed you Donald and it makes me happy that you can see me now" she cried attempting to hug him but she suddenly let out a groan and fell to her feet, her arm was aching and she could see Donald moving back.
"Wait!" She called trying to get up and chase after him, he kept moving back but fast towards a path that was created in this mansion.
"Hurry Evelyn" his voice echoed in her head and she pushed on to reach out to him but unfortunately, she bumped into Alex which made her scream and covered her face out of fear. Colton appeared behind her but Alex beckoned on him to step back while he takes control of the situation. Her hands were shaking although he intended to touch them yet couldn't because she was moving away from him, he could see her left elbow bleeding. Words weren't coming out from his lips but his eyes could explain that he wished to stop the bleeding but she wasn't letting him, she looked too terrified which got him somewhat infuriated. Evelyn raised her head slowly and realized that the man whom she bumped into had left, her heart almost exploded as it happened to be her imaginations of seeing Donald rather, her legs were leading her to Alex. She peered to and fro, relieved that he wasn't there any longer, she diverted her direction to the room which she was kept, unfortunately just when she took a step a way from where she stood, he was right in front of her with a bandage. He stretched his palm ordering her to show her injured arm but cleared her throat attempting not to freak out again.
"I'm...fine...alright" she stammered gnashing her teeth. There was no way one couldn't tell that she was more than terrified. This man didn't yield to her demand, rather he held where she was injured and studied the injury.
"Close your eyes" he snapped and she narrowed a brow at him. Alex motioned to her once again, though she contemplated on what could be her fate if her eyes were closed but she did as instructed.
"Ouch" she hissed with tight shut eyes as she could feel something hairy rubbed against her skin, soon she wasn't feeling pains and the touch was off her now, once she opened her eyes, she found Alex walking away. Evelyn glanced at her arm, it was healed up in no time and she bit her lips. It felt like some magic or miracle was done on her and she thought of it as a good story line for the news headlines.
"What are you?" She muttered to herself staring at the dark, she just couldn't figure out who this man and his accomplice were most especially why she was kept hostage when it wasn't money they needed. The spirit of a reporter suddenly reawakened in her, she needed to find out about these two and bring them to the public for whatever crimes they were hiding. Perhaps they might be responsible for the killings on the hill. This though brought back memories of the mountain and her encounter with the wolves coupled with the healing that was done on her arm got her agitated to look into the findings of what goes on around this part of the hill. Quickly, she got to her room and slammed the door while searching for her camera , smirked at it when she found it beneath the bed and then checked if all the pictures she took earlier was still on it but surprisingly, it was all wiped out and she cursed it.
"Shit! Damn it!". She flipped the camera on the wall out of frustration.
"Couy I be in some kind of magical land?"Evelyn though pacing to and fro.
"What's going on with me!" She pressed on as the camera sparked a little which made her groan loudly.
"It's all useless". Evelyn was already giving up, how could she get evidence when the proof she had was useless, there was no gadget that she could use over here.

Alex pulled out his gloves and turned his palm left and write, he could see Colton's shadow on the wall and he heaved a sign.
"Something left out" Colton began folding his arm and Alex became speechless.
"Let me guess, it's the woman right?" He pressed as the shadow pointed a finger at his chest.
"You're dying slowly in there, get off the thought of ever becoming a mortal and return home, perhaps they want you back or something..."
"Could we not talk about that?" He beckoned in a faint voice as weak at that moment.
"You're an alpha who..."
"Colton!" He roared cutting him short
"Please Alex, for once let me speak out my mind, what are hiding from me? Why do you desperately want to be a mortal? Does the curse has anything to do with that?". His questions made Alex's head to spin as he felt drowsy but fought back not to lose guard.
"Why are stopping yourself from doing things which are foreign to you? Everyone is on the search for you..."
"Let me be alone!" He ordered and the shadow walked away. Strand of tear dropped from his eyes as he staggered towards the window compelling his beast not to surface, he stretched his hand to the full moon and growled. Evelyn was still puzzled when she heard a howl coming down from the stairs and it triggered her to know where the sound was coming from. Her lights in this room suddenly went off, luckily for her, the torch light which she found in her bag was still laying on the bed, she had muster up courage, pick the torch and stormed outside to investigate what was going on. Evelyn creeped slowly cautious of the place so as not to be caught. The sound was coming from the basement and she stride slowly and gently towards there, her light shone on the wall but there was nothing in here.
"I was almost close" she muttered annoyed that she got no facts from this place but all hope wasn't lost yet as she heared someone coughing silently away from her, she tighten her grip on the torch light and dragged her stucked feet to the part of this basement where the sound came from once again. She was slow though mostly when she found another door in this basement, it might be a secret room, she thought swallowing while turning the knob of this door. It wasn't opening which could mean it was locked inside. Evelyn stepped back thinking of a way to get inside, just then the door slide and she was quick enough to hide somewhere she couldn't be noticed. She squints her eyes at the shadow that loomed over the wall, it was dark here because she had to switch off her light just stay clear of danger, the shadow moved slowly to where she hid which was beneath the wooden ladder that lead inside the basement. Evelyn covered her mouth with her palm not to wince or let out a sound that could attract the shadow further to her. It was climbing the stairs and when Evelyn heard it's footstep on the ladder, it got her relaxed a bit. As soon as the shadow was gone, she switched on the light and glanced at the ground where footsteps were imprinted with bloodstain. Her eyes met with the door which wasn't properly locked and that gave her a chance to look into it. Her terrified palm pushed the door widely enough to get her inside. The illumination from the torch light up this place as she found bones littered around this place and the wall stained with blood. But whose blood could it be? She questioned herself as this place looked creepy. A scroll which laid on the table drew her attention and she hasten towards the table and grab the scroll while rolling it opened to see what it holds. It had the drawing of a werewolf and an arrow pointing at a human figure which had a flower in it's hand. Below the scroll had a writing which seemed unclear but she was able to grab two words which were "the curse".
"The curse?" She repeated straining her eyes to see further when suddenly someone grab hand.
