Chapter 15

The doorbell rang patiently waiting for a reply from it owner. It took a while before the door slide open.
"Mrs Anna?" A cop asked showing the woman who responded an ID card.
"Yes?" She responded with probing eyes.
"We would like to ask you a few questions regarding miss Evelyn" the second petitioned as the two men glanced at themselves and then at her.
"I'm sorry but I don't have the information you need, she's dead and I believe I have responded to all the questions needed a month ago"
"We found an unconscious being by the river bank and it has a resemblance to her". Mrs Anna gasped holding on to the door as she hurried up to go along with these men.
AT THE HOSPITAL.
"100 joules.ready!"
"Inject ephinephrine. 250 charges!"
"Check!"
The holter monitor beeps loudly as a lady was charged with a defibrillator which made her jerk. Nurses could be seen injecting an intravenous fluid which a doctor checked the temperature of the patient.
"She's breathing at last!" A nurse affirmed relived that their patient wasn't lost. The patient opened her eyes slowly as everything looked white in this place.
"I'm alive" she muttered but none of the medical teams could hear her out.
"I'm alive..." He repeated sighing sharply.
"She's in a vegetative stage" the doctor announced checking her up.
"What's that suppose to mean?" She asked yet no one was responding, she could hear what they were saying but they couldn't as only her mind spoke. This patient was paralyzed as nothing seems right here. Shortly, she closed her eyes and this place that seems white became dark.
Mrs Anna barged in with tears as the doctor demanded they spoke outside. She kissed the forehead of this patient and stepped outside to discuss with the doctor.
"She's in a coma right now and it would take a while before she wake..." As the doctor spoke, Mrs Anna wasn't paying attention as all that matter was that her daughter was alive and she was going to keep praying that she comes out from this stage of health that she was.
"Evelyn, stay strong for mom" she wailed.

"I'm alive"
It seems that was the rythme for the day as Evelyn woke up from the table where Colton had placed her on.
"I need to go back, why aren't you letting me"
"We had a deal remember? Only then would I help you escape".
She scoffed and glared at him, how was that even possible? His demand was way too much for her to handle.
"No, I can't" she objected folding her arms. Colton sat on a stool and crossed his legs while narrowing a brow at her.
"Then you would be trapped here forever" he declared.
"What? It was six month stated on that damn paper!" She tabled and he smirked at her.
"You won't last up to six month and given your case, you would be locked up forever"
"This isn't fair!" She scowled placing her fingers on her forehead.
"They aren't human" she said to herself attempting not to cry out.
"A month would do" he invaded her thoughts having noticed her looks that seems like she had no choice than to accept his request.
"A month? He's a monster..." She held her tongue realizing that she was speaking with his assistant
"How would that work in a month?" She buttressed and he stood up striding to the door, he took a long glimpse at her and stormed out.
"It all depends on you Evelyn besides, your body needs you" Colton concluded leaving her behind and she groaned folding her feet for a punch as though she could do that with him around. He had taken her to a secret room and made her commune with her body just to convince her that she could return back if she does what was required if him. This could only mean her soul was trapped here while her physical body was lying in the hospital.
"You can do this" she said to herself and as she was about to leave this place, Colton came back and she wailed.
"You don't need to escort me, it's not like I would escape or something" she mused and he beckoned on her to take the first move out. Perhaps he was making sure she doesn't touch a thing with that curious gaze of hers. Evelyn watched Colton walk away and she banged the door with a sad gaze. She glanced at the mirror in this room and contemplated over the deal. Her stay here seems to be based on deals which corresponded but Colton's deal was more disturbing.
"Would he come over this night? I'm not ready to see him" she muttered and a loud tumble was heard upstairs which made her shudder. Fear was something she needed to take away, she was all bold and courageous when it comes to her job as a reporter. However since she met these brutes, fear had find it's place to lurk in. Evelyn paced to the door and placed her ear on it to get the exact sound of what might have fallen off. She didn't even realize that the door had open and she almost stumbled but someone caught her from falling. Her eyes peered at him as she pulled his hand from her waist.
"What were you doing there?" He began as he stepped forward while she was moving back fast trying not to fumble in her words.
"Lost" she snapped and his gaze darken at her.
"Did you know how risky it was out there?" He barked and she hiccuped not knowing the perfect reply to give this angry man who showed up to save her from those men but how could he conquer those men who were in hundreds except if he escaped from their wrath.
"No! I only found myself outside"
"I guess you're having much freedom than required..."
"I'm sorry" she interrupted swallowing hard as her heart was cursing this man. She just wanted the conversation not to led into violence.
