Chapter 13
"you can't hide forever"
That word seemed threatening and mocking as Alex scoffed at the being before him.
"Why did you come by yourself? You know how dangerous it could be?" He snarled and she chuckled holding on to a hairpin which she pulled from her hair.
"Where's Colton? We've got an unfinished business" she snapped gazing around the environment. Alex ordered her to speak out what she was there for or she wouldn't go back alive.
"Will you truly get your hands stained as always? It's part of you" she mocked moving away from him and he pulled her back.
"Leave at once!" He ordered.
"I'm not leaving till you come with me, it's an order from the alphas" she tabled as the pin switched into a transparent whip. He folded his feet not Intending to go against the law and his wandering eyes met with Evelyn who was peeking at him. He made the door shit itself while facing the lady in front of him.
She wiped the sweat which had formed all over her face, did he kill her? Could this man be a werewolf because she heard the lady saying alpha's before the door slammed against her. The thought that lingered in her head was if werewolves were real.
"Definitely not, I must have heard wrongly" she suggested standing by the door and suddenly, she felt someone standing behind her. The sight of the person got her curious to ask;
"Who are you?"
"I told you don't look back!" He retorts stepping forwards towards her and she bashed her back against the door while holding on to the knob.
"What did you see out there?" He pressed.
"Nothing" she said in a faint voice as her lashes flutter attempting to avoid those blue eyes of his which dug hers for the truth. She began to cough loud as he grabbed her neck pressing it hard, she found herself floating in the air and her mother waving at her. She could see Donald stretching his hand to grab on to her. She used her two hands and hold on to Alex's firm grip on her throat. His eyes were peering at her chest. He tighten his grip as her eyes were dimming slowly, it could be this wasn't the way she wanted to die as it was a painful death.
"Alex!" Colton called suddenly covering him with a coat and Evelyn heaved a sigh as her whole body was aching. She standing alone with Colton who glared at her. Swallowing hard, she grabbed her neck with both hands while soothing it to ease the pain around there. Her eyes searched for the one who almost claimed her life but he was gone all of a sudden. Colton brought out a dagger which was made of gold which startled Evelyn. Was this man going to continue from where Alex stopped. This was certainly the end, perhaps the dagger would make her die quickly than being strangled by Alex. However, he cut a piece of her hair while striding back into the dark. Evelyn stared confused as she touch the part of her hair which was shorten by Colton. These were dangerous men and she knew none of them would give a reply to her questions. Was she going to be choked by Alex continuously? He would have ended her but Colton stopped him.
"It's scary to die" she confused dropping slowly to the ground and a ray of light shone on her face. It then shone on a large cage suspended in the air a distance away from her. She stood up to her feet and glanced at the ray of light which flunk and from the looks of it, it was fading away. In a hast, she got to where the cage was and held it's bars, she found herself in an outer world which was a field filled with sun flowers. She scoffed and touched them as they were mesmerizing to gaze upon. Mistakenly, her hands touched a petal and the field began to dry up.
"No! No!" She pleaded and glanced at her hand which was pricked by a thorns. But these flowers had no thorns in them, where could she probably be? Raising her eyes, Evelyn realized these field was empty and where she stood became muddy.
"Help!" A voice called in pains. Screams were becoming loud and she wished to leave that place.
"Run away! They need your soul!" Another cried. The loud whispers seems like an enchantment as she covered her ears.
"Where am I?"
"Field of blood" a hallow voice whispered and she turned around to see who it could be.
"There questions begging for answers in your mind and only one thing keeps you breathing, it best you have that with you" it furthered and Evelyn glanced at her necklace, the pedant was glowing.
"Why did you bring me here?" She questioned and the voice sighed. Right before her eyes, she found pilliars rising up from the ground barricading her.
"Because only you have what they ever wanted" it echoed. She couldn't tell if it was a male or female speaking as the voice had both gender in it.
"There's some kind of misunderstanding, I just need to get out of here" she tabled with an unsettled mind.
"Only he can do that... keep that pendant save human, so many things depends on it". Evelyn pulled out the necklace and pointed it to the air.
"I don't need it! I'm not fit for whatever you see me as and those men! Why do they want my soul?" She questioned while ditching the necklace from her hand but it wasn't coming off.
"Is this a joke or something?" She mused swinging her hand fast to aid the necklace from coming off.
"You have your blood stain on it, this field represent lives which only you can restore and destroy at the same time" it said and Evelyn became stiff while glancing the field. She only got here and the next thing was the field drying up unexpectedly.
