Chapter 19
The swish sound of swords rang in the air and almost every soldier was dropping dead at the feet of one man who slayed them in a flash. Ultimately, he wiped out a whole army as he ventured after their commandant on foot but he suddenly realized he was fading away, his blue eyes switched into a mauve. He coughed trying to fight back what intended to come out of him and he let out a loud groan.
She raced out towards the desert to get the lamp with all the energy she heard, the former had told her that he couldn't get out except she does because the sheet only open up once for immortals but she needed that man to survive at all cost and return. The storm rushed at great height towards the lamp and once she got a hold of it, she got swallowed up. The former hit the blank sheet hard to see if this woman was still alive and he was bewildered when he saw her hand bursting out of the grave which the storm had created on her. She came out fully while raising the lamp up with a smile of relief and Colton scoffed with a drop of tear from an eye. The former had thought he lost a friend because of this woman's carelessness but she managed to keep the flames going but how could she do that?. She covered the lamp underneath her gown while running back into the sheet feeling like a hero.
Alex sighed and glanced at his hands, he wasn't fading any longer as he was rejuvenated ready to fight harder and make it back. He massaged his arms and raced into the dark field as he could see fireballs chanting and wandering in circles, he stood in a field of sun flowers which withered away; when he stepped a foot furthered into the field and from the ground arose a beast who glared at him.
"It was you all along who brought her here" Alex stated and without wasting any time to respond, it jumped at Alex who was ready to end this beast.

"How long are we going to stay here". It seems her questions wasn't going to end easily so what was the need of warning her not to ask.
"Until he comes find us" he said in between his teeth. She turned her gaze to the flame which glowed brighter and folded her lips wondering what was taking Alex long to return.
"You said something about immortal...you guys aren't human right?". Colton glanced at the lamp and sighed as he noticed that he desire raw flesh and this woman was the only one close by yet her questions sang songs in his ears.
"It's okay if you don't give me a reply, I suspected so, if I could be dead outside, only you guys can see me..." She suddenly paused when she saw Colton coughing huskily as though something was stucked in his throat.
"Are you okay?" She asked drawing close to him but he urged her to stay back and not come close as he was finding it difficult to breathe. He hid his hands in his long coat, hoping Alex returned on time as he was finding it hard to control himself from switching into a werewolf in her presence. Evelyn brought out her leg which had turned sore and mumbled to herself while Colton stayed calm not to look at her, she noticed that he looked unease and wasn't about Alex but something else. What kind of immortal could they be? Lost in thoughts, a sudden reflection of a wolf swept across her memory and she widened her eyes at him. They aren't real, it was fine with the fact that they were immortals but not werewolves or anything relating to animals, she only thinks of them as beast because of their character so why was she quick to assume over that. She lowered her eyes and covered her leg which had stain of blood and Colton's gaze fell upon her. Her face could tell that she was finding it difficult to accept what her heart said.
"Isn't there a way out without Alex coming after us, I feel sick already" she lamented yet no reply, he was back to his old self not giving an appropriate reply.
"You look like the one who would pass out before I do with that grieved face of yours, I don't know if to be scared right now but I guess I've pass that stage" she said in a sad tone and raised the lamp at Colton who shoved his face away. If she was in the public, she would have used their identity to threaten them and make tons of money because they seem bastardly rich and were just in hidings. How long have they existed amongst humans? Lucky them though, at least they could stay in contact with humans unlike she who was a roaming ghost waiting to return to her body which was in a comma, perhaps she too might be immortal as of that moment. Her perceptions lingered on things relating to the man standing at a distance away from her; If Colton dies, who was going to show her a way around here and give an answer which was in riddles to her questions? Who could she threatened to make her go outside the mansion? Who was certainly going to knock on her door every morning asking her of what she would like to eat or wear? It was awkward to bring up such questions but the time spent with Colton made her smile genuinely just like she did by the lake.
"It's okay if you don't want me to look, just don't die too" she professed turning her curious stare away from him and Colton suddenly looked at her. She was backing him while hiding hiding the light away from his face as she complained about the cold. She played smart in accepting her guess besides from the way he acted, it prove some points right. Instead of worrying over herself if she would last longer than those months proposed in the contract, she suddenly doesn't want them to die which made Colton wonder what kind of a woman she could be. Unexpectedly, the lights went off and Colton gasped but Evelyn said in a depressed tone,
"He's here"
