Chapter 41

For the rest of the night, Hussain looked like someone she had never known. He smiled more to her, and not in the I'm nice way, or in the seductive way, no. it was a smile that flowed directly from his heart. As though he was trying so hard to convey a message to her which his mouth failed at. For the rest of the night, he acted like the man she had never known and said things she had thought were like a sin between them. Not in a bad way of course, he didn't try to flirt or to even seduce her, he looked damn serious whenever he dropped a lousy comment about love and what not.
She smiled at him and stared at the way he had cradled Baby H into his arms and was relieved that the child that finally slept. They had watched a movie and throughout the movie, Hussain sat beside her, his hands in her and whenever she wanted to shift or get away from that touch, he"d say, I"ve been wanting you for so long to let go of you now. Stay like this please, okay?"
She was confused. She didn"t know whether he was referring to the fight they had or something. Because it didn"t look like something that happened recently, he spoke as though he had been in that kind of pain for years and had never gotten the chance to speak it out. Not to anyone, not even his Twin.
"Let"s get him to sleep," she began, leading the way to her room and he followed suit. "I'm even surprised, I didn"t know he"d sleep early today. Thank god, I could sleep too, if not, I'd have to stay up with him all night." She opened the door for him and he walked inside, not a word from him. She wondered what had happened, he had barely kept shut while they were watching the movie and now he couldn"t say a word?
She watched, earnestly, as he dropped the baby carefully into his crib and blew some supplications on him, which made her heart melted by the way. And when he looked up at her, he had a soft look in his heart. It was like a graze of a feather upon one"s bare neck, it may not be there longer than a second, but the touch would be there, nevertheless.
"Goodnight," she breathed out as she walked into the room, thinking of all the things she knew she didn"t have to. They had an agreement, quite alright. And she knew he would never break that off, would he? She wasn"t even ready for that stage between them, yet. Because for now, she knew that even if the months they had agreed to separate came, he"d never let her go. He had said it countless times to believe him.
He stood in front of her and when she tried to take a step back, Hussain placed his hand on her lower back and brought her closer. She stared at his plump lips and felt the way her heart raced before she quickly looked up into his eyes. "I'm sleepy," she blurted, seeing the look in his eyes and clearly knew what it meant. He was a different man, yet, he wasn"t different to her in many ways. She knew that look so well and was surprised that Hussain looked the same as Hassan while he was in this mood.
He chuckled softly and tightened his hold, forcing her to place her hand on his broad chest to keep her balance. She stared directly into his eyes, "Hussain," she said softly, feeling the way her heart was beating wildly against her ribcage and from where she had placed her hand on his heart, she could feel the erratic beating of his heart as well.
Their heart beat the same, she realized. But didn"t all heart beat that way? Just that there was a way Hassan"s heart and she didn't realize it was different until it stopped beating and now, she felt like breaking into tears when she felt the same heartbeat in Hussain"s chest. She quickly masked up her expression, thinking of why she was thinking so much about Hassan today. Not that there had been a day she didn't think about him, but still.
"I'm not trying to do anything to you, Nadia. I just want to..." Their eyes met, and she saw the way he bared his utmost sincerity to her through his eyes. For her to either give in or ignore, but she quickly took her eyes off and heard his smile. He kissed her forehead and let his lips lingered there for a while before he took a step back, his hands still on her shoulders, "I wanted to do that. Thank you for being my wife."
She managed a smile because of how her entire body was reacting to him. "Goodnight, Twin." She couldn't help but willingly call him that despite knowing that he wasn"t Hassan. But today, she felt as though she couldn"t differentiate between the two men, when she could totally do that.
She watched as he walked out of the room and closed the door silently behind him and Nadia quickly rushed to the bed and sat down on the edge. She placed her hand on top of her heart that still hadn"t stopped beating the way it did and sighed. What was this? Why was she feeling as though Hussain was a magnet and she were a metal that would automatically run to him?
Her phone beeped and that was when she realized she had been in a deep thoughts for almost ten minutes and didn't realized. It was Hussain, a message that said; Can you please come to my room? The bathroom door has a problem and I'm stuck inside." She didn"t knew whether what sparked inside her was hope or desire, but she lazily stood to her feet. She didn"t even knew whether he was telling her the truth or not, but she"d just go and find out.
She stared at Baby H that was sleeping peacefully before she walked out of the room and when she walked inside, she found out that this was the fist time she was coming into his room since after their arrival. "Hussain?" She called out softly and heard his grunt from the bathroom as he shook the door from outside.
"I should"ve got the door repaired, I totally forgot that it has this problem." He kept banging the door from outside and Nadia chuckled at how angry he seemed.
"Easy there, you will break the door at this rate. I'll see if I can get it to open." She walked to the bathroom with an amused smile on her lips, totally forgetting about the sexual tension that hanged in the air between them. "Step back," she warned and heard his steps as he did what she said, "Because I don"t want to deal with a sulking man tonight."
After a second attempt, the door went flying open and she was faced with a bare chest Hussain. With water dripping from his body and his eyes a bit colored with his annoyance at the door. Nadia didn"t know she was shamelessly gawking at him until she met his eyes and he lifted a brow, she quickly take a step back and covered her face with her palm.
She felt his presence as he walked beside her and heard when he locked the room"s door, which made her flew her eyes open, "What is that?"
He turned and looked at her deadly in the eye, "I just want you to deal with a sulking man tonight." She watched as he took the key with him and she walked to where he stood beside the mirror, staring at his lotions and she had never thought that they had the same lotions with Hassan. Which explains why their skin glowed and was so soft to touch. And right now, she wanted to touch him. She missed applying those lotions on a skin like theirs.
"What do you mean?" She scowled at him, she could always hide her feelings from him. "Give me the keys, I need to go back to my room."
He looked at her dead in the eyes and what he did next was like a dream come true. He handed her one of the lotions and pulled the vanity stool until it was close to the bed and he tapped the edge of the bed for her while he sat on the stool. "Come and sit over here," he said and she rolled her eyes at him and walked, nevertheless.
"And what the hell am I supposed to do with this? Hold it for you because you"re now handicapped?" She threw the words at him, anything to make herself feel a bit better from this tension that sizzled between them. The fact that he was still shirtless and was still in just a towel wrapped around his waist was enough to send her entire body on fire.
"You could say that later. Because by then, you"d know whether I'm handicapped or not. But for now, will you apply the lotion for me?" He asked and sarcastically threw his hands on the air, "As you can see, I'm handicapped."
She scoffed and rolled her eyes at him. "Just what are you pulling at, Hussain?"
"It"s a wish, will you, please? I'll give you the key when you do that."
She gulped down a lump in her throat. She knew how she acted whenever she applied the lotion on Hassan"s body and it always resulted to him taking another bathe that unless he had enough time to spare, he stopped allowing her to apply it for him. And right now, despite knowing what it would result into, Nadia wanted to do this. Not because she wanted the key, but because her heart really wanted to do this.
"I won"t be responsible for whatever happens to you and don"t think you can come to me for rescue, okay?" She said sternly and he only flashed her a smirk. A taunting smile, as though he knew she was only saying this to make herself feel better.
She squirted the lotion onto her palms and rubbed it all over before she carefully took his hand and began to apply it on him. She could feel his eyes burning on her, but Nadia knew better than to make the mistake of looking up into his eyes at this moment. She took the other hand when she was done and after applying it on both hands, feeling the way his skin felt on her palms and how hot it made her feel, she wanted to scream.
"That"s it, done. The key," she said, avoiding looking into his eyes and she watched his smile from his peripheral view. And she knew that at this once, he only needed to say that she stayed there for the night, and she would do just what he wanted.
"You"re not done, my hands aren"t the only part in my body, Singleton." His voice a little bit coarse and dark at the edge. But still, she didn"t need to look into his eyes.
"I know, but you don"t apply lotion on your legs at night, it makes you guys feel hot. So what"s left apart from that?" Slowly, she lifted her eyes into his and watched that he was staring right back at her, Nadia had to gulp down a lump in her throat as she cursed herself for doing exactly what she knew would result into this.
"My chest, I'm certain you know about it and just chose to ignore." She immediately stood up and faced the opposite side.
"I just need to key to leave, Hussain. You can"t make me do what I don"t want to..." Her words stopped midway when she felt as he gently pulled her back onto the bed and she laid there, facing the ceiling and watched as he hovered over her. "Hussain," she breathed softly and while he stared at her, Nadia felt as though he were staring into her soul.
"I want you, Nadia." He whispered with a voice that shook with the intensity and intimacy of his words. She had to close her eyes at the feeling that surged through her entire being. These words had never been said to her and she was surprised at how taken aback they made her feeling alongside all the other amazing feelings.
When she opened her eyes to look at him again, his eyes told her that he wanted her, not just in the intimacy kind of way. He wanted her in all way she could ever imagine and with hands wavering a bit, Nadia wrapped her hands around his neck and brought him closer to her body, feeling the heating weight of his body on hers.
"Remember, there's a limit to what we can do. I'll..."
"Try to stop us?" He said in a raspy breath and she chuckled softly and kissed his lips softly.
"No, I can"t do that because, damn it, I want you too. And in many ways than just this..." She watched as his eyes dilated a bit to show how surprised he was at her outspoken reply when she cut him off, "And I'll kiss you the way I've always wanted to." She merged their lips before he got a chance to reply her. And just like that, Hussain felt his heart breaking into bits and pieces. The walls he had placed around his heart, walls so strong he was sure will stop his feelings from bursting out found a way to break by the way her lips were moving on his and his on hers. And he knew, he"d never get to hide what he felt for her anymore.
