Chapter 30
"Where will the tents be put up?"
"Let's just go around the bonfire."
"E, these foods?"
"There's a small table in the kitchen, Zi please."
After dinner, Kiesha helped me wash the cutlery. While the men immediately went into the middle of the forest to look for firewood, while others slowly prepared the things to be used for the celebration. Includes griller, marinaded meat, snacks, hard liquors, blankets and pillows.
I don't think we have any sleep now, those who close their eyes will lose, those who don't keep up with the game will be punished, and the quietest will be beaten.
I think that's me, or Zion. We are the only two who rarely speak here. The one who saves saliva was even defeated.
"Is everything lined up? We don't have anything else to use?" Zed suddenly asked after setting up his own tent.
"Everything we need were already here. Let's start the party!" Kiesha replied enthusiastically. Then he raised his right hand and waved it.
So did the others, except for me who just stayed in place. Opposite is the chichiryang previously planned to move. I don't want to go with their drink. Not once did I try to taste the wine. I can't take it's smell, and probably the taste too. It's okay for me to just talk and simply consume the pulutan.
Well, I am so obsessed with the idea.
"Let's start the game!" Maxine quickly put down the empty bottle she had seen earlier.
Spin-the-bottle is our first game.
"I'll spin it," Nica suggested.
The drinking hasn't really started yet. Zi has a few more meats to grill, but they are already too hard on each other.
From them, I slowly titled my head to his direction. I thought it was looking into the distance, but when our eyes met, that was my violent breathing and rapid heartbeat. Contrary to her seemingly earlier expected scene.
"Gee will be the first to get pregnant!"
Shocked I turned back to the comrades.
"Huh why?"
"Where did he go thinking you're a woman?" Nica jokingly slapped me on the shoulder.
"You'll be the first to order," Kiesha grabs my attention, simultaneously pointing to the mouth of the bottle directed at me.
If you're going to watch oh, why? I"ve always been lucky in this game back then, not once was the teammates ordered. Things are the opposite now. Did my luck decided to escape away this time, for real ?!
"I'll take care of it," Zed said. It sneezes, then raises and lowers an eyebrow.
I don't like what he's up to. It seems like a big madness is conceivable, madness that can cause a change in my whole being.
"Just make sure the one you order is good, right?" I whispered with mixed threats.
"Drag Zion here. Ask him to stop grilling for now, he gotta have fun with us."
"This isn't about superiority anymore. This is a story of friendship," Kiesha entered the conversation.
The two of them really have the same brain function. I have never heard of them fighting over conflicting ideas.
"Is there no one else?"
Zion has ears and is close to where we are. It is impossible that no one heard what the couple said. But this and it seems more preferred to be deaf, for what?
Can't he just come here alone? I hate the idea of staying close to him ...
"C'mon Gee, we're here to have fun as a group. Not as enemies, so it's better that you just reconcile with Zi. Otherwise we'll all think you like her," Max jokingly poked my side.
Others have joined in the ridicule. Persevering to find out how I really feel, obviously relying on the way things are done to get the desired answer.
"Stop it! I don't have enough reason to like someone like him," I actually meant to raise my voice to go straight to the brain of the person being sounded.
"Whatever Gee, you still have to do the dare," Kiesha commented.
I frankly stared at it, sighed violently, then stood up.
Maybe just a tow for him. I won't just look at-
"I can go there alone. I'm just finishing the grilling," Zi said coldly.
It walked closer, carrying the bowl with which they had dessert today. Not a week passed by my side, when I stood by Nica's side. A span away from me.
"Okay! It's too easy for us to dare for Gee," Max complained.
For a few moments they thought of another commandment for me. Because I didn't do the first thing they said. When he realized that no one else wanted to do it, he decided to stop and just spin the bottle again for the new victim.
No luck in all of us, especially me. I think the bottle was a favorite today, so it was ordered several times. Get water, firewood in the forest despite fear of the dark, shake hands with Zion, consume a glass of wine, greet Zi, and another glass of wine.
They are taking advantage of my jinx. Why is it that in all cases, luck has left my body?
"What Gee, are you drunk already?" Kiesha's criticism after noticing my silence.
I already have three glasses, have no experience with this kind of drink so who doesn't get drunk right away?
"Just leave me alone alright? Let's stop this fucking bullshit!"
"Looks like he's drunk, he's swearing ..."
I couldn't keep my eyes open anymore. I'm sleepy, nauseous, crying, want to get lost, I don't know!
For the second time, I secretly tilted my head towards Zion's direction. It was just looking straight ahead, in Kiesha's direction. He bit his lip and hugged his own legs.
He obviously like my bestfriend. I can totally feel it through the intensity of his eyes. His gaze shouted affection, the kind gaze he never hurl on me.
I'm not hurt, I'm not happy either. I don't know ... I don't know what to feel right in this moment.
"Double kill!"
"The torrent has been destroyed!"
"Killing spree!"
Just a few of the ones I currently hear in the middle of a deep sleep. My body and mind are silent here e. Looking for a longer break because of a headache probably caused by a hangover. I want serenity, yet someone doesn't help out!
Annoyed, I threw the pillow in my ear, when I suddenly got up.
"That's the only mobile legend, when I'm full. The enemy has really been slain ki-"
I was stunned after seeing Zion's shocked face. Sitting on the end of the bed, holding the phone still charged.
"Why are you here?" my brows furrowed.
Quickly backed up to the headboard.
"What are you doing?" from him, my gaze dropped to the garment.
It wasn't my dress last night, it was black pants and a white v-neck shirt. How can a loose sleeveless be buried in my body now? Who changed my clothes? Who brought me here?
I can not remember!
I hugged my legs, then lowered my face to my knees.
What happened?
Is the effect of alcohol really that strong? Suddenly almost everyone forgets. I only drank three, four or five glasses ... Maybe? I don't remember even that one.
"There's no electricity in my room, just charging," he casually replied.
"What happened last night? Who brought me here?"
I turned to him again, wearing judgment in my eyes.
"I did," his brows slightly furrowed. Lower the handle, then authoritatively fold.
He doesn't look guilty, nor sorry for touching me.
He also probably changed my clothes, why ?! Is that even necessary? I still have my bra and panty on, but that doesn't mean he have not seen my-
I heaved a deep sigh.
The magnitude of my sin against mama. It seemed embarrassing to go home.
"You touched me," my dangerous eyes pierced through him.
"What should I do other than carry you just so I can't be touched? Do I have to tow you instead?" he stared at me sideways.
"Don't be sarcastic Leander. What did you see last night ?!" I lifted my chin up. Supposedly brave, even though the truth is slowly eroding its stance in the darkness of its eyes.
"Drunk woman just casually rolled over to the bonfire. Good and someone noticed, otherwise it would be a barbeque. And a drunk woman even laughed at the situation, then suddenly shouted, 'I'm the woman with the fight, I'm the goddess, I am the star, shining in the sky ', "he shook his dismay. "Sana all ..."
I am surely that woman he was talking about. Did I make those? Formally if it is, can it be mad? That's impossible ...
"Stop fooling me, I can never do such things."
I looked for eyeglasses I often wore. I needed it to see him clearly.
I heard no answer from it. Bagkos stood up and went to the drawer, someone took what was thrown in my hand.
"I hid that last night so you wouldn't break."
"The audacity of you to touch not just my body, but also my glasses!" I yelled.
"I'm willing to help," he replied almost in a whisper. Return to the left position, to remove the charger from the socket then push it out.
"You expect me to thank you is that it?" I jumped off the bed. "How can I do that to many like you?"
He stopped. He looked up for a moment, before turning his body towards me again.
"Manyak?" he licked on his lips.
"Yes! You removed my clothes without I, knowing."
There was a bored look on his eyes, as he looked away.
"Tsk!"
I only heard from it, before I finally left. Why, he didn"t even apologize, didn"t explain why he had to change my clothes, and even more so gave no answers to the questions that were troubling my mind.
What else did I do last night?
Did he see what he shouldn't?
Did I say something wrong?
God, my head hurts even more!
"I guess our innocent Gee is pale?" Kiesha's criticism, after I stepped aside from it.
He was the only one I caught in the kitchen, quietly eating in front of the phone.
"Where are the others?"
"Come out ... We're the ones who woke up last."
"It's like my head is going to break in pain," I dramatically held my head.
"As expected," she laughed evilly. "There's hot soup in the pot. Personally prepared by bebe Zi, for bebe Gee."
I frankly struggled with it.
"And here," he handed me a pill. "For the hangover."
"Thank you."
"Thank your knight, shimmering and spending armor instead."
"Stop me from doing that! Do you know what he did last night?"
"Do you know what you did last night?" he asked back.
"That's it ... I don't know the whole story!" I'm almost scornful of annoyance. "Zion only told you a few parts."
"Didn't he tell you to suddenly cry and tell the story of the growing tiredness of studying hard? Just tumbling all of a sudden is a lucky dance? You shout, 'Hey! A man with blown hair is still handsome. You thought I want you? Never! You are far from my liking, just in terms of manners and dress. You live too much, we don't matter ... We don't matter? " she said, copying the way I talk.
He really even added emotion to the storytelling. Apparently an actor assigned to perform as me, in the story of life.
"You suddenly cried after those words. But it just became a hype-beast again. Zi and I were together when I took you to your room. I changed that myself, because you're suddenly vomiting," he pointed to what I was wearing.
Really? I thought-
That's because Geline Nielani, you lead the events too much.
Zi didn't do anything wrong. Instead I actually openly expressed disgust.
I am such a shame!
"Like me ..."
"You said so. Zi's patience is really good and long, otherwise you would have been thrown out by then. Why are you so mad at her?"
"I am not ... I just don't trust him enough. I'm afraid he might hurt you, maybe he's just pretending to be nice even though he's not really."
"He's not the one to hurt me," he ruffled my hair. "You will hurt him yourself, because of what he says and does. Zi is kind, you just failed to see because he was led by doubt."
"What shall I do then?"
I am so naive to things like this. Not knowing enough how to provide a solution, how to apologize, how to make friends?
But why would I make friends? I am forbidden to be friends with a guy. I'm sorry maybe, that's okay.
"You know the way to the rambutan tree we used to climb, don't you?"
I nodded.
"Zi is there, I ordered him to pick fruit for us. If you really want to say goodbye, after eating go to him right away."
"I'll have an appendix then."
"If there's a will, there's always a way."
I nodded slowly, before averting my eyes from it.
While eating, that's how I thought of words to say.
Hi, Zi! Do you want to help me with the picking?
E, too casual and bubbly. I'm not like that.
Hey, let me help you with that. You don't have any choice other than saying yes.
The arrogant too listen. Gangster ka ghorl?
Good morning, do you want to go with me there?
The toy!
My Lord, help. I don"t know how to start.
"The difficulty of it," I whispered to myself.
I"m done with breakfast and all. Now currently climbing back into the bedroom to get dressed in comfortable clothes.
I can't climb, wearing something like this. I will look like a bold star in those who see that.
Sweatpants and a loose shirt were the ones I chose to wear. That was even tied to the front to give a bit of design. I tied my long hair in messy bun, and then wore the brown boots I brought for this two days vacation.
Others are busy with what they are doing. So I didn't bother to say goodbye, because maybe no one will listen.
I looked around, as I made my way to Zi's place. It looks like a criminal hiding in authority, so if you can look around purely.
Woods and grasses surround me. I knew, there might be a wild animal hiding there, well prepared for its possible attack.
In the distance, I could immediately see the sweat on Zi's back. He was topless and sitting comfortably on the tree branch, with the sunrays giving emphasis to his physique.
It turned around, I didn"t want to be disturbed so I slowly walked closer.
Hi!
Hiiii!
Hi?
Hi.
I repeatedly whispered in my mind, while waiting for it to turn around. What kind of 'Hi' should be pronounced? Alas, that also makes me a problem.
I was both staring right into the details of his naked back and practicing my greeting, when he suddenly turned to my direction.
We were both slightly tense. Even waiting for it to turn, I'm still surprised, amaw jud!
"Pengeng isa."
Wow! Of all the words I thought of, that was the first to be heard.
Are you still rehearsing Geline Neilani?
I hear nothing in response. He snorted, then simply pointed to the basket with the rambutans in front of me.
By the way, why didn't I try to get something to eat there? I have a live bold show, there is more fruit to eat.
Zi turned around again, to continue what he was doing. As I sat down to grab a rambutan, without taking away the critical look at him.
I ate only one, but a few were put in both pockets.
"Don't be suspicious, don't be suspicious," I kept on whispering to myself.
I am so obsessed with this fruit. How can I only eat one, if you are so animalistic in taste?
I ate another one again. But this time, at a distance the skin was thrown away so that he would not notice the secret depletion of the fetus.
I ate another one, two, three, four, five, until the basket was almost empty. He still have another one with him. This one in front of me is probably the first one he put, this is the case and he will put it again because I ate too much.
I was just about to swallow another taste, when he suddenly turned around.
I was stunned, then quickly averted my eyes. Pretend to just look around so as not to be suspected.
I heard him sigh heavily. The basket was first lowered with no space for the remaining rambutan with the rope, when it came down as well and approached me quickly.
"It's just a secret to eat, it's too obvious," he raises an eyebrow.
I poured the whole rambutan first, before answering.
"I didn't do that."
I am so bad at lying, pisti!
"Yeah," his lips rose a bit. "Obviously Neilani ... Maybe the person who did that is insane?"
"I'm sorry," I nodded. Too embarrassed to stare at it.
"I'll just take it again-"
"No, it's not the rambutan ..."
"Hmmm?"
"It's about what happened last night. Kiesha has already told the whole story. I'm not in the right frame of mind so I said those things," I nervously squeezed my fingers.
He didn't answer. Putting his hands in both pockets of his clothes, he just stared at me hard.
"Stop looking at me like that," I couldn't help but comment. "And please, put your shirt on."
Her body is also really one of the reasons why I can"t look straight. I don't want him to see me staring.
"Let's get out of here, lots of mosquitoes."
He only answered. He quickly put on the t-shirt, then grabbed the two baskets one by one.
"I'll help you there-"
"No need," he cut me off. "You go first, and be wary. There are many snakes ..."
"I am not afraid of those."
"Uhuh?"
"Ummm," I immediately answer with mixed pride.
"You said so."
For the first time, we didn"t answer.
I hate to admit, but I kinda like this ...
To be continued...
