Chapter 69

"Why are you so quiet?" Kiesha casually dropped her body on the lounger. We"re both hanging out by the poolside now. The same also floats.
"Stupid, you've been quiet there before."
So am I. Simply thinking things through. Including Zi and the ones I wish we could do in the next few days.
It made us go for a walk later. What the other plan is, I don't know.
"Me?"
"Maybe Fergus did something to you in the dark room so you're like that," I raised my lower eyebrow.
I heard they went straight to that room earlier. The boss is said to be angry because the bride has touched a mountain.
To whom?
"Did you hang up?"
"Nothing happened!" its growl. Pleading guilty.
"I heard from the waiters that there was a future you were hit raw outside," I smiled sheepishly.
Thinking about it made me burst out laughing. Not personally seen, but I feel ashamed and imagine the reaction of whoever he victimized.
"When that makes you lose hope of having children, you're really dead to being married," I added.
"Excuse me?" he wasn't sure of the response.
"For what?"
"Because it's Zion ..."
I nodded. He grabbed the goblet of wine from the side, then started to drink.
It's just Zion. So what- the!
I turned my attention back to him. That's how the blood boiled and the drink was violently spewed out.
"You mean, Zion Leander Pilvera ?!" I exclaimed.
I even laughed, while my boyfriend was the victim.
"When we don't have children I'll really make you bald!" I'm threatening here.
If she hadn't been pregnant I might have been punched.
"The harsh ..."
I answered nothing back.
I suddenly remember the things we've overcome together. It's been ages already and our friendship gladly grew even stronger.
I got up from my sit. He walked closer to it, when he was jokingly pulled out.
"I miss your rude habit."
Good and nothing serious happened to her and the child being taken, after the stabbing when Ariela's staff surprised them on the same day I was taken hostage.
"Me too. Are you still smart?" he tilted his head and snorted. Supposedly analyzing the course of my brain.
"I was just traumatized, not changed!"
"What really happened?" she slowly caressed my back.
"Because I changed the shooter. I suddenly remembered what happened to Alice then. And one more thing, they almost nailed my hands and feet. God knows how scared I was ..."
I actually felt betrayed more than scared that time.
To prove the lie again, I pretended to be trembling and still affected by what had happened.
This will be the last lie. Fergus will be hurt if I tell him the truth myself. I do not side with the other group, we are just protecting his condition here.
"It's okay even if you don't finish the story," she whispered worriedly.
"Don't you really face that woman?"
I looked at CCTV footage of what happened when Kiesha was attacked, and saw May, brother Gideon's ex psychopathic girlfriend. The two exchanged attacks. The girl was surprisingly good at fighting. It escaped my friend's hand. Go straight outside and run away.
"Ariela? Who is she?"
'She's not the real Ariela'
If only I could say that ...
But don"t want to lead and destroy Fergus "plans. He complied with my pleas. Now is the time for him to follow.
"She's my brother's ex girlfriend. You once had a fight with sister Kianna."
It came to mind for a moment. When he finally remembered, he immediately nodded.
That woman came to us, saying ate Kia stole her boyfriend. Even the truth is not. They had a fight that time. A really intense one! Kiesha used to comfort her sister, I was the thief and simply took the video as a remembrance. I still had the footage in my old computer. Most of our memories are actually in there.
Suddenly it fell silent. Obviously deep thinking.
"Are you planning something else?" my criticism.
Whatever it is, I hope he doesn't continue.
"Have you ever thought about the reason why sister and brother Gid don't get along?"
My brows slightly furrowed. I folded my arms, then looked up.
"Really? My older brother didn't say anything about that. We and our family met when we were young. It's very surprising to all of us, they're the only ones who can't get along ... Why?"
He also noticed something different between the two.
"There must be something happened between them ..."
There is ... And it wasn't just a simple thing.
"Another plan?"
"Is it okay for us to make your brother a suspect?"
"Yes. It's as if my family is going to be upset somehow. We're so quiet."
Someday you will also know the whole truth Kiesh. For now, I'll just accompany you with the plans you have in mind '
"You're not well yet. You still need frequent medication."
"Whatever! So what's the plan?"
"Call your brother, confess. Then I'll tell you the next step, when you get your sanity back."
"Hey, it's serious-"
"You ready?"
At once we turned to the great Zion. Kiesha and I looked at each other for a moment. Did it stop, then simply wiped the injured part of the body earlier.
"Where are you?"
"At the end of this land. There seems to be a stream there?" my answer is straightforward.
"Yes"
"He's taking a walk," I bowed shyly.
Slowly revealing our relationship to her is kinda awkward. I couldn"t train myself to be comfortable with Zi while staring at her.
"Bring a condomn-"
"Kiesha! Don't make me look like you. I'm not weak!"
God, this girl!
It"s also really one of the things that keeps me from admitting. She's too blatant!
"Believe me, I uttered the same words before. And look, I am carrying my trophy now," he pointed to the bulging belly. "Zi is big, be prepared."
"Amira! You're so shameless you're so young, what words are you pushing into my brain," I stomped in the air. Embarrassing!
"It's up to you if you take it seriously," he laughed in response.
"Whatever," I rolled my eyes. Then stand up. He adjusted himself first before approaching Zi.
"Zi!" she called out.
"Hmm?"
"Be gentle ..."
My cheeks warmed automatically, and so did Zion's. We both blushed suddenly in shock and embarrassment. This is too much!
We won't do anything else.
Maybe nothing?
"You're crazy," I whispered.
Even before it let out another embarrassing word, I pulled Zi out.
"Don't mind her. You know there's a saltik once," I said.
"Just like you."
"Excuse me?" my grip on his hand loosened, "I'm sober okay?"
His lips potruded, trying to hide a smile.
"Yes!"
"I am not saying anything."
"Your eyes are," I finally let him go. Then the explosion came out first.
I don"t know where the road is to what he says is the stream. But I think, turn left.
"Where are you?"
"Huh?" I turned to face him.
"Do you have another walk?"
I winced
I was wrong, on the right.
"I"m just looking at the flowers," I blurted out.
It didn't stop the laughter. Then shake to turn right.
This is one of the reason why you shouldn't trust your instinct too much.
The two shoulders fell as I followed it. All you have to do is hide your face behind him.
"You have a tail now?" he criticizes after a few moments of walking.
"Just leave me alone," I snorted. Such is the desire to avoid looking at it in all known ways.
"C'mon," he stretched his arm on me, "There's no one else here, we can hold hands now."
"What if I see someone? Was our relationship illegal?"
He pursed his lips. I realize he never expected my answer. He still thought I want to keep our relationship a secret.
Not anymore ...
I smiled as I reached for his hand. I clasped our hands together and moved close to him.
Next I focused my gaze on the ring she gave me as a pendant on the necklace. As for the ring he gave me when we got married, I wore it again.
This is one the best gift I received from him that I once returned. But now that I had it again, there is no way I'd do the same mistake. It will stay with me for life.
That's a promise ...

His phone suddenly rung. He immediately took it out of his clothing pocket. I was first shown the registered name of the caller, before answering.
"Yes Lor?"
"What ?!"
I was surprised at the sudden rise in his voice. Did something bad happen?
"I am with Gee."
"Is there a lot around?"
"Okay, we'll go there now."
The call eventually ended.
"Why?"
Spencer's camp was in Villa.
"He's dead," was all I could answer.
"I know ... But we should not forget about his partner. The real deal here."
Weeks ago, on the same day of Spencer"s trial, he died. It is said that he drank water mixed with poison right in front of everyone.
A few of their men were also killed, including May.
Their case was reported as suicide. They said they wanted to hide the truth. Because I could see in his face that day his own desire to disappear.
But I know more than anyone what triggers him to do that.
It isn't about the secret.
"I didn't come here to say hello."
"Still, I am glad you came," he let out a faint smile.
It was so pale when I last saw it. There was also a loss of vitality and deep passing.
"For the quiet of my system, please be honest."
"Hmmm ..."
"Did something happen to us?" I ask directly.
I can't stay with him any longer because Zion is waiting outside. Thank you and he even supported my request to come.
He sighed heavily and lowered his gaze.
"No ..." was his bitter answer, "I told you I'm not that stupid to take advantage of your weaknesses. About the physical pain you felt the next morning, because of what you did while drunk. Behind your innocence was a wild drunkard, "he licked on the side of his lips.
"How can I believe you?"
"I had a video of it. If you want to see, just take my laptop home."
"Okay," I got up from my sit, "Goodbye."
"Can you forgive me now?" begging for this harvest. I still wanted to reach for my hand, but I quickly backed away.
"There's no forgiveness for what you did. Maybe when you're dead I'll just consider that."
For the second time, it was only an underestimate. I was not in the right frame of mind when I said that. But unfortunately he complied.
It just did everything I say. Even committing suicide does not matter to him as long as he proves repentance and a desire to obtain forgiveness.
I really forgave him again. I saw his sincerity long ago. But it was my pride that had been stopping me from spilling the words he badly want to hear.
I want to hurt him. But in the absence of it, I almost did not want my conscience to silence me. And Zi knows about that. So he does everything to make me feel better. For even a moment stop blaming yourself.
"We need to save Kiesha."
And here comes another trouble.
In case something goes wrong, I will regret it again for keeping the secret.
I am living a life full of regrets. I wonder how I can sort all of this mess?
"Are you okay ma'am?"
"She's with me. She'll be safe ..." his gaze went to me.
We face each other while hiding behind the plant and waiting for Lorie"s next call. He is the one who knows what is happening now because this time he is the only one with access to CCTV footage.
We could not simply enter the Villa without its signal. Because maybe instead of a colleague, we will meet an enemy.
She said the rivals are wearing disguise. The only thing that would help us determine our comrades was the watch Fergus gave to his men as a sign of loyalty. We get to know colleagues through it. We can rush right now if we want. But it is better to be careful.
We have to wait for Lorie's signal.
"Don't you ever leave your place, huh? We're on our way," after saying that, Zi immediately turned off the call.
"Is he okay?"
"They are together."
I sighed violently. He really meant we weren"t there before approaching Kiesha.
Everyone knows that my friend is blind to the truth. He is the only one fooled here.
We were all fooled ...
Annoyed I pulled myself together.
"This is my fault," I growled in frustration.
"There's nothing wrong with this. And no one likes it. Pull yourself together love, don't put all the blame on you," he lifted my chin up, "Everything will be fine."
His phone rung once again. He answered it quickly. That's just the reflection of tension.
"The two are already talking to each other," he announced.
"Get Gee here and tell the others not to just rush. Tell them to act normal. But when things go wrong, do everything to protect Kiesha."
"Will you go inside alone?" I firmly grasped his arm.
"I'll help our colleagues."
"Let me come with you."
"You can't ... I don't want to hurt you again Geline. Please save yourself for me."
I was shaken in the middle of his speech.
"I don't want to. Just take me with you please."
"Geline!" he suddenly yelled, "Can you just follow? Don't make this fight difficult for me. I promise I'll be safe."
"Don't expect me," I cried. In an instant, I suddenly felt a strange nervousness.
Why do I feel like it was a lie? I totally understand his point, but my body was refusing the thought of letting him go.
I just now felt this thing.
"Let's go Gee."
Lorie and this man would not let me howl. They quickly grabbed my hand, then ducked my mouth to make sure it wouldn"t make a noise.
Maybe they are hiding nearby. So it came right away.
"I'll leave her safety to you."
"Here's your gun," Lor handed him his gun.
"Thank you," Zi gave me a kiss on the forehead, "I'll be back," was its final harvest before finally leaving.
I badly wanted to follow him. I have no choice but to stop him from leaving.
I had a very bad feeling about this! Things that are very hard to ignore.
Why do I feel like he"s never coming back?
The next shot we heard was not even far from the area. The reason is that my nervousness and bad feelings only intensified.
'Lor please let me go!'
I was thinking.
I used all my strength to let go from thier grip. Zion may need my help. I can't leave him.
"Gee just follow."
I violently pulled my right arm from the hand of the man holding it. But just failed to plan to get away. Even so, I continued to do what I wanted.
Lorie"s shocked image didn"t escape my attention. I used an opportunity for its strength to defeat. This time I won.
I quickly removed the duck tape from my mouth and begged to face him.
"Just let me go there please. If you ever like a man with a dangerous job, maybe you can understand how I feel. He needs me Lor ..." I held on her arm so tight.
"But Gee-"
"I don't want to regret this day. I don't want to run away just to save myself, while those we left behind are suffering. Zion, Kiesha, and the others need us!"
A few moments of silence soared between us. No one wants to break it. Until the man slowly released my arm.
Lorie took her phone out of her pocket. She dialed someone's number. It only rung twice, before the person on the other line answered the call.
"What is the situation in there?"
"Running away ... To where?"
"Okay, secure us a boat," the last thing she said.
"What's going on?"
"The opponents escaped with Kiesha. They were supposed to go to sea," he held out his hand.
I reached for it quickly. And ran to the car parked not far away. They also later decided to include me. If I don't do it, I'm sure I'll just tickle their consciences every day.
One of the men prepared a boat for us just like what Lorie asked. The others are said to have come first. Chasing the yacht ridden by the opponents.
Lorie handed me two guns. It is said that it is better to have a reserve in case one is released or runs out of ammunition.
We fired and punched each other when we finally reached the yacht. At the back we stopped. Where no one is watching.
We decided to part ways. To quickly find Kiesha's whereabouts. I took the stair, while Lorie went to the right.
"Kiesha," I called as I finally got to the second floor and she was immediately noticed.
I approached it carefully. Tight hug wholeheartedly awarded.
"It's okay and you're safe."
"How are the others? Fergus?"
Huh? I thought they already met. Their group came first.
"Gee ..."
"I thought you met."
"What do you mean?"
We heard a few violent steps approaching. He gently pushed me to the back of the stairs, as he prepared himself for any attack the enemy would make.
"She was heading this- Kiesha!" Lorie whispered happily. This includes Zi.
"I'm glad you're safe ... We're the only ones left."
"Huh? They've exhausted our staff ?!" Kiesha sighed violently. So am I, as the eyes are fixed on Zion.
He only gave me cold stare in return. Just enough of a message to say he doesn"t like my presence here.
"Unfortunately, yes. Argus? How did you escape?" he looked at each part of Kiesha's body one by one. Make sure it doesn"t have any wounds on the body.
"I shot him. Fergus?"
"You haven't met?"
"What do you mean?"
A series of gunshots in our direction suddenly erupted. Lorie hurriedly pulled Kiesha to the back of the wall and exchanged a shot with the opponent. While Zion quickly embraced me.
"Cover us, I'll take Kiesha upstairs. The chopper is on its way!" Lorie's stern command to us
"Go!" Zi shouted. He stepped back and pulled his gun's trigger.
I also participated in the shootout. With him as my shield.
Our paths parted. Kiesha is with Lorie, me and Zi are together.
"Just stay behind me hard-headed woman."
"Zi ..." my lips protruded.
I just want to help him e.
"I told you to stay away from this war!" he suddenly exclaimed.
"I just want to ensure your safety-"
"You are not helping Geline!"
I chirped a bit in surprise. The word dangerous is lacking to explain his dark stare.
"I'm sorry," I sobbed.
"Tsk!" holding my hand, he opened the door to the other side of the yacht.
Few opponents we encountered. He faced all of them alone. Fist to fist. That was the course of the battle.
I was too busy watching them. Reason to miss looking at the situation in the background. Before I could even notice, a kick hit my back.
I lost my balance. But Zi was caught so he didn't fall down.
"What the-" he gently pinned me down. Then retaliate by attacking the man.
It drowned. One occasion he used to rain a punch in the face. Until fainting.
"Stop it-"
"Maybe it's clear to you now why I don't want you to get involved in the trouble anymore," he interrupted me.
I sighed heavily.
"Remember you're not the only one we should take care of here," from my face, his gaze dropped to my stomach.
"Sorry," I looked down.
"Come here," he pulled me up, then planted feathery kisses on my head, "Your stubbornness," his voice toned down.
He knew I was scared. So it recovers immediately. He knew how sensitive I am at the moment. Good thing he can control himself.
"Let's leave now."
The road to the left was the one we chose to take.
But a bloody image of Lorie, with Kiesha and Fergus popped up before us after opening the door.
"What happened?!" I asked in shock.
"That ugly one was shot," Kiesha pointed out to the now lifeless character.
"God! He needs to be taken to the hospital," I attended to them.
"The chopper is upstairs, get on," Fergus whispered authoritatively.
"How are you?" almost simultaneously we asked Kiesha.
"We'll follow right away," Zi assured. Which didn't sell to me.
"We'll be safe, don't worry," Fergus consoled, as he approached his fiancée.
"I love you," he gently kissed her forehead.
"I love you too."
We support Lorie upright at the same time. She's still conscious. He was trying to steady himself to reduce the weight for us. Holding it, Kiesha and I cautiously headed up the stairs. It was still a bit difficult because the body was also weakening.
Fergus and Zi were right behind us, protecting us from any shooter. They just stopped following when we were right on the stairs.
"Be careful," was my last reminder to the two.
Zi simply nodded and forced a smile.
We went straight upstairs. The waiting chopper was immediately spotted. The crew lowered the rope ladder, even the stretcher after noticing our wounded companion. We securely lay Lorie's body on it. And he made sure to lift properly before quarreling.
"Come on up Gee," Kiesha pushed me softly.
"You're the one we're rescuing here Kiesha, so you should be the first."
"Are we going to quarrel again? Promise, I'll follow."
He thought that lie was really for sale to me.
"You're not the type of woman to follow the original plan. You have gastritis so can you go up-"
We both bowed, after being fired by someone in an unknown direction.
Holding hands we ran to the back of the iron chair to hide.
Next, gunfire rained down on the chopper. Luckily, it was able to fly away before it was completely disgraced.
"I"ll run across to find out the shooter"s whereabouts," I boldly harvested.
I was about to run, but he suddenly touched the hem of my dress to stop me from doing so.
"Are you going to make a sacrifice? Stop me! Let's just let that happen? The ammunition of his gun will also run out, let's just wait."
"Even in this situation you're still lazy," I shuddered disappointed.
"Why would I use up the rest of my strength to run if I can fight here?" he pointed to the open bag of various kinds of weapons in front.
"You're really the only pregnant woman I know that you're so cool," I shook my head. "I won't be surprised if your son grows up to be a murderer, bomber, or psychopath. He's still in the womb exposed to massacre."
"Yes, then you're the guard."
"Call me bad, but I'll never risk my sanity for that. Just thinking of taking care of your young version, I'm already crying."
He smirked at me. Took the grenade inside the bag and none of its own pulled the pin.
"How does it work?"
"Hey, fool!" that's how hard I tried to snatch it from him and throw it into the sea, before we even exploded.
She almost get us killed!
"You're really crazy!" annoyed I grabbed the shotgun.
In annoyance, he just fired in the direction where I think the opponent was.
Seconds after, the man from nowhere stopped shooting
"I think he's dead," I said.
"Maybe no more bullets, let's attack!" without hesitation it stood up.
"Fergus will kill me for this," I murmured as I get on my feet to follow her.
To be continued...
