Chapter 64
I just walk straight to the mouth. Accompanying a few patients and doctors who are discharged by the authorities so as not to get involved in the disturbance. They are almost everywhere, ready to rush in case the perceived target does something wrong.
I was nervous for Kiesha. What if something bad happens to him? She's pregnant! Hopefully Fergus can protect him properly, hopefully they can escape.
I took my phone out of my pocket to dial Lorie's number. She's the only one who has control over the CCTV system. He knew for sure what was currently happening at the top. I need a word from her.
"Beside," a man recklessly ran at me. Reason to release the holding phone. It went straight to the floor and broke.
"What the-" I angrily turned to the man. But only the back of it was seen.
He was a little smaller than Zi. Wearing black leather jacket, white cap and brown boots, he walked straight ahead. It doesn"t care who crashes. Just get through the crowd.
He never give even a single care over the commotion. It is persistently aiming in the direction of where. There is something in its aura that says he is not just any human being.
I don't remember having him on our team. And I couldn't convince myself that he was part of the SWAT either.
Wait-
Is there another group here?
Almost everyone in the corridor I was standing in was already exposed. I wanted to do the same, but the thought of that man had been stopping me to take a step away.
I was confused to grab the lifeless phone now. But maybe it will still work if I try to fix the battery.
"Take the old man, as well as the child," I heard anas from one of his companions.
I did not see their faces. Before I could even look up, they had slipped in front of me. As had happened before, only their backs could be seen when they turned around. A woman in pink pink dress and black designer hat is firmly talking about something. Meanwhile, five of his comrades listened intently, pretending to be guards.
Did they have a patient left inside?
But I couldn't hear any concern on the woman's voice. Judging from her words, I think they are about to do something unethical.
They will pull something.
My heartbeat quickened automatically at the thought. Something bad is going to happen today! I need to stop it!
Instead of going outside, I turned right. Towards the elevator that is probably empty now.
But I was wrong in the assumption. A familiar man first became the center of sight, just a few steps away from the desired direction.
Spencer and his crew stood in front of the whole part of the quiet corridor. Looks like someone is waiting to get out of the elevator.
I need to pass through, without their knowledge.
But how?
Both of their groups were stationed opposite the stairs and the elevator.
Shoot above the next blow. Something that makes me even more nervous. I am sure our team is already on the move. Hopefully they don"t fail in this battle.
I just need to look at Tito now. I bit my lower lip and hid behind the wall, before any of Spencer's men could notice.
I lightly tied my hair up and wore thick eye glasses. He adjusted himself first, then came out of hiding with courage.
It's too late to go back to the origin. It's easier to get to the right floor of Tito's room using the elevator.
I need to use my acting skill. This is my only defense right now.
"Excuse me, excuse me- ummm ... Can I come up sir? I left my car key at the office," I exaggerated to the man next to Spencer. He even deliberately turned his back on it so he wouldn't face it.
"It's dangerous there ma'am. We're already shooting," the man replied politely.
"You're a policeman. Can you escort me then?"
What a nice response Geline. You're trying to get through, aren't you?
I'm really good at thinking.
"It's really dangerous-"
"Let her," Spencer said, "it's her fault if she's damned ..."
Aba-
In an instant, I suddenly felt annoyed. The word he used was very insulting to my pride. I like the idea of them leaving me alone, but not the rotten attitude of this man. Really pretends not to care about women.
He can't be a gentleman, that's for sure. Tsk!
I rigorously pushed the elevator's button. Explosively went inside, without looking away from him. I am doing the best I can to hide my face from him in a natural way, so he wouldn't suspect.
I will be able to escape from them in a few seconds. I need to keep my composure intact, until then.
He is busy mumbling something to the guy in front. I am so confident that he wouldn't see my odd gestures. Though I could sense his intense gaze on me.
"Wait ..." he said in a baritone voice. Then he quickly blocked the door with his arms that would have closed completely.
I was shocked to look at it, the box that would have subsided has come to life again.
Too late to push the button again, before I could do so, he already managed to open the elevator's door.
I am look down. Even though he was caught, he was still trying to hide his face from her.
Only now are we facing each other. Only now have I seen him up close. Until I was just behind the camera then, watching her every move. I somewhat know every detail of his face. I know when he's mad, he's annoyed, happy and sad.
I can now be called a stalker in the job I entered.
And if he can do the almost daily watching, he definitely can too.
It"s impossible that it hasn"t even thought to follow people close to Kiesha, including me. I am pretty sure he is also keeping track on me.
"Are you alright?" he stepped closer to me.
I bowed and backed away. Such was the inexplicable fear of him.
"Relax, I am not going to hurt you," his hand landed on my cheek. It gently removes the runaway hairs from my face.
He then crouched so our eyes would meet.
"You seem so tense," he slammed one arm against the wall. Reason for me to miss the gulad.
His arms encircle me. He is making me inferior in every angle, and I don't like it!
I gotta do something.
"S-sorry, but can you step back?" my voice cracked a bit.
I bit my lip so hard, at the same time as secretly praying.
Even if it seems impossible, I hope I can get through to him.
"You look familiar-"
Oh my God!
He moved his face closer. Confirms the inference in the detail of my face and emotion visible in the eye.
I took a deep breath. I need to think of a good plan.
His two staff blocked the elevator door. It's useless if I just push him, I'm sure the men outside will take a step right away.
Maybe I should-
"Am I?" my lips rose in a smile.
I straightened up, then tried to stare back at him.
His face was too close to mine. I could feel its violent breath. One wrong move, our lips will surely collide.
Even if we don"t like this position, I can"t afford to disobey him. I need to act calm and firm.
I rested my palms on his chest. I gently pushed him towards the elevator's button. It's just like being careful with every move to avoid it noticing the imaginary plan.
"Your courage is too much to get on this wheel," he suddenly wrapped an arm around my waist. I turned closer especially to him.
"I don't know what you are talking about."
"Tsk ..." in one swift move, his lips crashed mine.
I took a deep breath and was not on my own.
Did we just-
"How dare you?" I touched my lip. Unable to believe what happened.
I hope it's just a nightmare. This isn't true!
"Stop acting like you know nothing," he raked his hair with his fingers, with sarcasm drawn on his lips.
"You bastard!" I let go of my fist with all my might, straight to his face.
I'll just consider this one as a good opportunity for me to get revenge on behalf of ate Kia. In fact, one blow is still missing, compared to the hardships they endured with their sister.
They tortured her! Physically and mentally.
I partly regretted my plan. Trying to get them with my acting skills is suicide, but giving him a big blast is one of the most satisfying thing I did so far!
Yes, I was wrong in the idea of approaching them further. I should have run away when I still can. I shouldn't have watched his drama anymore, because I knew from the beginning that I would lose again. He isn't Spencer Valle, one of the best lawyer and soon to be youngest prosecutor for nothing.
He is smart, strong, and dirty.
I could clearly see how his earlier calm image had been replaced by darkness. Its jaw tightened as it stared at me again in a deadly way.
"You are indeed one of a kind," he said in greeted teeth.
"Why did you do that to sister Kia? Why did you hurt her ?! You're in love, aren't you? How can you do such a thing to her?" I pushed him away.
Before I could so another thing, his men pulled me out of the elevator. Spencer came out as well, wearing the look of a demon. The kind of stare that defines him.
"I never thought you were this brave," he crossed his arms over his chest.
"Let me go!"
"You look more beautiful in person."
"What? You can't pass me in your pass-"
"I know," he interrupted me, "I'm just telling the truth."
"Why, are you falling for my look?" I blatantly asked.
He thinks that"s all he wants to think. Assuming, self-centered, I don't care! I get annoyed and when this happens, it is very difficult to keep my mouth open.
"You thought maybe I would suit you. You're handsome yes, but you have a very ugly attitude!" It's like a broken exhaust that hurts my ears to listen to.
I talk ill everytime I lose my temper. If not calmed down, there will definitely be no silence.
"How can I shoot a criminal like you, right? I prefer having a relationship with an alien than someone with a dirty background and rotten attitude!"
He was about to approach, but I stopped him with a powerful kick to the bulge.
He shouted in pain and get on his knees.
All its staff gasped in shock. I used the opportunity to attack one. Release the kick again, straight in his face. Then I turned to the band of the man holding my right arm, dragging the other holding the other. I stuck my head in his nose, causing him to let go.
I next punched the neck of the man holding my left arm. He was beaten, then kicked in the stomach.
I lost hold of the two, but not in the eyes of the other staff. They are too many for me. They will beat me too. But it is better to lose while fighting, than lose doing nothing.
They start one by one. I just avoided the former. He fought with the second, turned the third's hand and kicked him in the stomach, choking the fourth. The other one pulled my hair, also tried to unleash a strong blow for my side but I just avoided. Reason to hit the incoming colleague.
I mercilessly poked his eye. Then the slap is given to another opponent. It's too light for him, a very tolerable pain. It's no wonder why it just made me laugh at what I did. What he didn"t know, my fist was ready for the next attack.
I punched his face. Then made a swift turn with a side kick. It's just backwards. He still lacks my strength. He is tough. I will have too much trouble with him.
The others were just staring. I don't want to keep up because I have full confidence in my current opponent. Maybe this is their strongest member.
"Is it just so-"
I never let his word finish. It was quickly punched in the lip.
"You are too loud ... Just fight."
I have really managed to be more courageous in this situation. I just lit up the fire on his raging eyes.
I think I will die at the hands of this man. In a flash, the image of Zion suddenly came to mind.
I need him here. I can't do it alone.
The man attacked first. A blow I was lucky to avoid. He tried to grab my hand, but I quickly stepped back, then crouched a bit and smacked his chest.
He managed to slap me. But it did not budge. It was just a simple pain, compared to the agony I'll be facing later on. If I don"t want to be like my sister Kia, it takes perseverance to escape.
"You're a strong woman too."
"That's enough. Let him go," Spencer suddenly commanded in an angry voice.
"But he hit me boss," they complained almost simultaneously.
"I said-"
"I'm not done with you," I pushed the man in front of me with all my might and pushed closer to Spencer.
Annoyed, he pulled his ear, while the other hand went to his hair.
I am so pissed right now! I am even more irritated at the thought of possible defeat.
I pulled him, slapped and punched him in the chest. He didn't flinch even a bit. He just stood right in front of me, letting me do whatever I wanted.
One of his men want to make a move, but he keeps on halting him.
He was as if protecting me.
For what?
Did I do anything good to him?
One more slap and I finally stopped, catching my breath.
"Run now when you still can," he said almost a whisper.
"Are you scaring me?" I boldly matched his gaze.
"When we meet again, I won't let you go," he caressed the injured part of the body, then turned away.
What's with him?
"Run now," he growled.
I hesitated to retreat, until the silent staff's chest swelled. He still wanted to touch it, but in both my annoyance and shock none of it threw itself away.
The others tried to attack me once again. As I moved farther and farther away from the place, they tried to follow. Until one of them fired a gun. In God's mercy, he was not hit.
"I said let her go! She's not the one we're supposed to be targeting right now," I last heard Spencer whisper, before finally getting away from them.
I can't help but think about the decision it released.
Why did he let me escape?
Why did he do nothing while I was raining slaps and punches?
"Father and son Alfano have left."
I automatically stopped and went straight to the bottom of the stairs. Can't wait to see the oncoming enemy group. I first saw the back of the woman I had seen earlier and the disciples on either side of it. I was right to suspect something was different from what they used to be. They are here for tito and Kiesha.
Where's Spencer? "
"I think it's a show."
"We have to hurry, the cops heard us!" confused news of the newcomer, from the stairs where I hid.
"Hey!"
From them, my gaze averted to the other direction. I saw a familiar built of a man. He was the rude man who bumped into me. And now facing it, I realize he was also the one who followed Kiesha back then to the Mall.
He pulled a revolver from the side of his pants and pointed it straight in my direction. Before he could even fire, I was able to run down the dark corridor. I don"t know where it"s going, but hopefully there"s a way out.
The guy continued on aiming his gun at me. I was determined to get away. All means were made just to not get hit. But the second time, luck was no longer on the side. Following another shot was the strange pain in my arm. I gently touched it, sticky liquid was the first to be felt.
I got shot! Oh my God.
"Geline!" I heard Zion call behind the door standing.
"Zi!" I called back and tried to open the door. But it was lock. The only way out is the other door across me.
"I am coming-"
"No, just come out ..."
Two more gunshots prevailed.
"Oh God, Geline!" Zi rigorously banged the door, "What's going on there?"
"I'm fine ..."
Of course, I am not alright.
I had a hard time running to the other door. Pretending to get out even if you're not sure what kind of danger you'll face next.
A white car first appeared in my sight as I finally pushed open the door. Good thing, I am in the right direction.
Without hesitation I got inside the car. There is so much desire to hide.
I settled on the back seat. Lying on the floor, I ripped my shirt off. The silk obtained from it was tremblingly wrapped around the right arm. Then took a deep breath, letting the ear be entertained by the screams and running of the people outside.
I closed my eyes.
Until I hear nothing but a creeping silence ...
Until the car starts moving ...
Until darkness welcomed my senses.
The kiss of the morning ray awakened my tired and sleepy spirit. I shook my head, then slowly got up.
The wind dances freely with the trees and plants outside. A few cars were parked near the big gate, which looked old because it was surrounded by weeds. There were people standing almost all over the place. Keep an eye on it as if someone will cover it any time from now.
Where am I?
I reminisced about what had happened this morning. The fighting, the gunfire, the shouting of the people in a frenzy, what Spencer did and they planned to kidnap Kiesha and Tito.
Zion- did he follow what I told him to just come out?
I hope he didn't fight to save me. I succeeded on defending myself using the techniques he thought me on our training.
Shot in the arm, okay. It's far from the intestine. I caressed the injured part of the body. The blood that flowed from the wound was now dry. The pain was still intense, but I could bear it. I need to endure this, until I get back home.
But where exactly am I?
I rubbed my body. Making sure nothing else got right out of the fight earlier. Stuck when holding the cracked phone in the pocket. I took it out and immediately turned the power button on.
"Work please," I murmured.
"What's your plan now?"
"We're wrong again!"
I heard someone shout from the front. Shocked I turned to it. The eyes almost popped out and the jaw dropped to move to the front of the car to make sure the image was correct.
I lost one of my contact lenses. Only part of my eye is clear. Reasons why it is difficult to estimate what is seen.
How can he-
I mean, she?
Huh ?!
"The fight isn't over yet," Spencer calmly replied.
"They're already outnumbered."
"You can never be sure about it. We have people watching them. We can rush now that they can't hear."
Slowly, I scrolled on my phone, until it vibrated. It's good and it's not completely broken.
If you really look at it, I'm still stuck in their cave. And everywhere else we looked for their whereabouts, they were just here. It looks like it's just near the house where Kiesha is hiding now.
The best thing to do when hiding, is staying close to your seeker. Only few would try looking at the nearby places. Mostly, everyone would go directly to somewhere far.
The intelligence of this group cannot really be denied. Their level is different. I was completely out of their minds. They are undeniably good in every angle.
I stoop down a bit and typed a message to Kiesha.
'I found something.'
He is the only one I can talk to right now. And this conversation shouldn't last, before any of the rival's team could trace my location.
'Where are you?'
He responded quickly, only a few seconds had passed since I had sent the message.
I dialed her number this time. It would be easy if I call.
"We were still looking for you yesterday. You can't be traced, where are you?" he opened in a worried voice.
Yesterday? Did I sleep for a day ?!
"I followed your woman," I almost whispered in response.
The two pioneers of this almost unfinished tire are still out. Just a noise, I'm sure I'll be late.
"I thought Spencer kidnapped you. You're really annoying too! Be in a hurry to act."
"Idolo kasi kita ..." I paused for a moment.
Sorry, I had to lie once again. I have sinned too much against him. I don't know how to recover, even though as time goes on, my lies intensify just to protect his emotions.
I can't make her and the others worry. I am unable to admit the wounds inflicted by the battle. He will only worry a lot and if he is seen it will cause even more disaster. There is a baby inside her womb. She is in a very sensitive pregnancy right now. It is better to sound safe and good to protect a life.
"Anyway, that's it. I spotted him in the hospital. Looks like he's going to your daddy, well and we were ahead of him to rescue it."
"Are you sure that's him?"
"Absolutely. She was currently with Spencer right now."
"Where are you?"
"I will text you the address and please ... don't trust anyone in there. If possible, just come here."
I mean, you're Fergus and Zi. I'll just bring it outside. Maybe it"s not hard to stay away from it. I just need to be nimble and critical.
"Why can't you be contacted? Your device was out of reach!"
"I broke the tracker."
Now that the lying has started, I'll just shut up. I will also recover, even if it is difficult, I will correct it all.
This is for your own good Kiesh.
"Spencer's IT can track us too. Don't be surprised how many hours from now, they'll rush you there. Tell the guards to be extra wary, they're just watching you too. I personally heard their conversation, I'm here in the cave now they ... "
"Be careful there you woman. I will give birth early because of you."
I slowly lifted my gaze to the two. He almost didn't want to take his eyes off the person in front of Spencer. My brain does not want to process his true identity.
It's so good to skin-you. Behind the gentle face, there was darkness. Quiet, but more dangerous.
"You won't believe what I realized about his persona, that's for sure."
"Who is he?"
"You know her, I mean hi-"
I was stunned. The soul was almost separated from the body and the hands automatically went cold when the critical eye of a character was noticed not far away.
"Gee? Who is he? Are you okay?"
"Fuck, I think someone saw me ..."
"What ?! Get out of there right now."
"I am trying."
"Where are you? Tell me so we can get you there right away."
"Quezon-" I almost ate the next words with great nervousness.
To be continued....
