Chapter 17: Beautiful nonsense!

Author's P.O.V

It was Sunday evening, the weather was cool as a result of the usual December snowfall that occured in New York City every year. Most of the population were indoors, and only those whose body could tolerate cold were outside.
Alpha Dracula's mansion by the time was unusually quiet, none of the members of his pack trained outdoors with their sword and daggers, nobody came outside to the moon to make it strengthen them. The outside of the house was as quiet and empty as a graveyard. It wasn't all of Alpha Dracula's pack members that lived with him, many of them stayed on their own and some of them didn't ever come to pay homage to him because they don't like the way he controls their pack.
The twelve black wolf Alphas were present in the mansions throne room; *Can't really be called a throne room because Alpha Dracula had never and will never be verified by the moon goddess to be a werewolf king.
Alpha Dracula was wearing his usual king gown and a wolf crown and he was sitting down on what his followers called "Throne".
The room was quiet as the twelve Alphas were all waiting for a sign from Alpha Dracula before they could have the guts to speak.
"Speak Alpha Derrick!" He suddenly said,
All the werewolf Alphas suddenly turned their heads to look at Derrick. They could catch a glint of fear on his eyes and they all would have loved to hear his heartbeat if they could.
"Your…highness." Alpha Derrick stammered. "I've confronted the prime white wolf in a …"
"Which one of the other Alpha's followed you to the mission scene?" Alpha Dracula interrupted.
Everybody could feel the tension in the room as he said it. Alpha Derrick's hand was shaking so much like a person suffering from essential tremor disorder. His hair was rough like he'd been running his hands on it before he came to the pack house.
"No…other Alpha followed me." He suddenly said, Alpha Dracula shaked his head and severely slapped his forehead like he always did anytime he was trying to stop his wolf from controlling him.
"Beautiful nonsense!" Alpha Dracula exclaimed. "What did I say when I asked you to do this on friday?"
Alpha Derrick didn't answer and that seemed to piss Alpha Dracula the more.
"The black wolves had fifteen Alpha's including me, two of them were killed when they tried to betray my aim, and we now have twelve Alpha's if I'm excluded." Alpha Dracula gritted his teeth in anger. "And out of those twelve Alphas we have left, you couldn't recruit one of them to follow you and kill our enemy? You wanted to go by yourself right? Wanting to take all the victory of killing the nineteen year old Prime white wolf to yourself!"
The room was quiet after Alpha Dracula finished, nobody dared to speak and add fuel to the already blazing fire. Alpha Zane laughed in his heart because Alpha Derrick was the person who mocked him most when he lost two members of his pack to killing the Prime white wolf.
Alpha Dracula managed to calm down his wolf before he said in a more low-pitched voice, "Continue."
The scared Alpha Derrick looked at Alpha Dracula's calm expression before he continued, "I met him and his friend in a bar, I've earlier sent a stalker from my pack to spy on his every mood." He looked at the other Alpha's blank expression before he continued. "I mind linked him saying he should come outside and let's talk if he was really what legend said he was."
"You did what!" Alpha Dracula exclaimed; his eyes wide opened like he could hardly believe what he heard.
"Why in hell's name did you mind link him?" He shouted. "I thought I said it countless times that he might not know his birth root or the fact that he's a werewolf. And even when you fu*king mind linked him, the first thing you told him is that he should come outside and talk if he's really what Legend said he is. Are you so stupid that you didn't know at that moment that you've exposed your purpose of going there? Or didn't it occur to you or your stupid wolf that he might go home and think of what you said if you didn't kill him afterwards!"
Alpha Zelle suddenly chuckled. He was the only Alpha with the least fear for Alpha Dracula. And Alpha Dracula didn't even care to glance at him even though he had clearly heard the chuckle.
Alpha Dracula's wolf growled inside him but he still managed to calm it down before he looked at Derrick and said, "Go on."
Alpha Derrick breathed in and out and calmed his wolf so he wouldn't shift and dare to start a fight with Alpha Dracula who was ten times stronger than him.
"I didn't know how he did it but he replied to me with a mind link also." An imaginary long ear appeared on the head of all the other Alpha's when they heard Alpha Derrick, they all lowered their head to pay more attention because Alpha Derrick was already standing on his feet in the middle of the throne room chairs.
"He replied me with a *"Why not just come and let's talk in the bar, coward"?* A gasp could be heard round the throne room after the other Alpha's heard the reply the prime white wolf gave.
"Then I told him that I accepted that I'm a coward but I'm better than him whose parents were killed in war and yet he was in a bar drinking a non-alcoholic drink."
"I'll give you a point for that." Alpha Dracula said.
"But then," Alpha Derrick continued. "He gritted his teeth in rage and came forward to fight me even though his friend was trying to calm him down. He put a blow in my face and was about to put another one in when I caught his hands and cut his face with my claws." Alpha Derrick stopped and looked around like he expected everybody in the room to clap and hail him.
"I further put a blow on his face with my werewolf strength and he fell to the ground, unconscious."
"And while all these were happening, nobody in the bar shrieked in fear and ran out when they saw your claws?" Alpha Dracula asked.
"Yes they did, but all the attention wasn't focused on just me because Lucian developed some fangs from anger before he came to fight with me." Alpha Derrick replied.
An eerie and uncomfortable silence stretched round the room, even Alpha Dracula couldn't find his voice, he seemed to have lost track of things to say.
"I was able to convince…" Alpha Derrick continued but was cut short by Alpha Dracula.
"Enough!" He exclaimed. "I don't want to hear your boring story anymore, it won't feed me."
Another round of silence stretched on before Alpha Dracula said, "Just cut the long story short, did you or did you not kill the prime white wolf?"
Alpha Derrick slightly lowered his head in shame before he said, "I almost did but…"
"Just shut the fuck up!" Alpha Dracula shouted; now knowing from the way Derrick acted that he obviously didn't kill the black wolf.
The room's temperature got stiff for the umpeteenth time before Alpha Dracula announced, "It starts now, anybody who can bring the dead body of Lucian to me would be second in command after I've conquered the white wolves."
"Meeting closed!"
