Chapter 23: Alpha Derrick's mate
The Author's P.O.V
Monday night was beautiful, the streets of New York were busy and beautiful as usual, the air temperature was perfect for a stroll or a walk outside. The time was 9:PM, and most of the population were either asleep or awake.
In a beautiful and high class street in the very heart of the city, there was a man sitting outside a large white painted penthouse decorated with lights and chandeliers in every part.
The house sported a thick black gate and it was fenced so high and round just like Alpha Dracula's own. A silent music was playing in the house and the man outside the penthouse was meditating on a mat that he spread on the bush bar that was built outside his house.
The man's eyes were closed, his ears listening to every sound around him as he tried to concentrate and communicate with his wolf. His wolf growled like it was hungry for blood and the man lost his concentration as easily as he had gotten it.
In a far left corner of the house, there was a room built for the security guard and gatekeeper who was a member of the man's pack. The man was Alpha Derrick, the Alpha who had failed to bring the news of killing the prime white wolves to the pack house of Alpha Dracula.
He continuously hissed in frustration as he couldn't communicate with his wolf, he was thinking of how Alpha Dracula is treating the other black wolf Alphas because he was stronger and he had a more stronger pack than theirs.
Alpha Derrick suddenly gave up and opened his eyes in rage. He had thought playing some music and reducing the volume would make him concentrate, but it seemed like it was making him lose his concentration the most.
"It's been a long time since I visited my pack house." He said to himself. Many other Alpha's preferred to live with a large number of their pack members in the same house, but Alpha Derrick lived privately. He'd figured that having any of his pack members to leave with him would make them constantly depend on him for everything they wanted.
He walked into his large living room which had different picture frames of him in his wolf form, there were also other pictures when he was in his normal human self. He strolled to the bar in his large and spacious dining room and took out a champagne glass and a bottle of whiskey from the wooden cupboard. He walked back outside and sat on his arm-chair in the bush bar. He uncorked the whiskey bottle and poured some into his glass before he took a large gulp. Apart from his security, who was an Omega in his pack, he was the only person at home. He sighed and continuously looked at the time as he wondered why his mate hadn't come home yet.
Alpha Derrick stretched his hand to the glass table near the armchair that he was sitting on, he took the remote control that rested on the table and pointed it to his large Television set to watch some shows for the sake of time burning. He didn't get to press the remote when he heard the horn of a car at his gate. The security man ran outside in haste and pressed the button on the gate that controlled its opening and closing.
Alpha Derrick kept his attention to the gate as his mate drove in, she parked her car at the car canopy and got out of the car. She locked the car doors with the keys and started strolling to the bush bar in which Alpha Derrick was in.
"Why the hell are you just coming home?" Alpha Dracula asked in annoyance.
"Hey, mate. I guess you wouldn't be so angry when you get to know what I found out today." She replied.
Alpha Derrick's ear stood up in imaginary anticipation when he heard her. "Come sit on my lap and tell me what happened." He ordered with a dominative voice. She obeyed and walked seductively to sit down on his lap.
"I somehow knew you were angry about how Alpha Dracula behaves because he's stronger than the other black wolves." She started, looking at her mate to see his reactions.
She saw that he was calm so she continued, "Lucain came to apply for a job in the company today!" The drink in Alpha Derrick's mouth was almost spitted out when he heard what his mate said. "He did? Why did he?" He asked in disbelief.
"I don't know, I'm not sure. But I've known that he dropped out of college, so I just guessed that he's looking for a job to make ends meet."
Alpha Derrick's mate was the woman who introduced herself as "Sarah Wilson'' to Lucian. Just that her real name wasn't Sarah Wilson but Roseline Derrick. Alpha Derrick owned the Blue Crystal company since it was founded by his father and he inherited the company after his father died. His father was a very powerful and rich werewolf, but just because most werewolves preferred to name themselves differently anytime they were doing anything that would go public and the humans would know about, he changed his name. Alpha Derrick's late fathers real name was Crystal Charles but he changed his name to "Noah Crystal" when he decided to start a company in the 1960's.
Roseline had begged her mate (Alpha Derrick) for almost a week before he agreed to let her work in the company. He'd been angry about it though, she was also a black wolf and was tired of being a housewife and that was why she decided to change her name in the human world and work in her own husband's company. Alpha Derrick was the only person who didn't change his name though, Mr Maxwell knows him as Alpha Derrick but doesn't know that he's a werewolf.
Roseline was also one lucky person out of few that were blessed with magical gifts from the moon goddess. She had the spirit of revelation, if she could concentrate, she could know as far as what will happen in the next five hours.
"How are you sure that it was Lucian you saw?" Alpha Derrick suddenly asked.
Roseline looked at her husband's face close up and kissed him lightly on the lips before she said, "I saw him in my revelation, and I knew before he walked to the company's gate that he was the one legend says he is."
"Are you sure he didn't smell you or suspect a thing?" Alpha Dracula asked with a doubtful voice.
"He perceived my scent, and with the way he behaved when I raised up my hand for a handshake with him, I'm sixty percent sure he knows that I'm related to the werewolves.
"I think you should stop working at the company!" Alpha Derrick said.
"I won't stop. Instead, I'll bring the head of Lucian to you as a present!"
"...."
