Chapter 29- Handing it to Him

**"Ava, where is your gemstone ring? Take it out and let me see," Mrs. Foster asked.**
**Ava remembered that her gemstone ring was not with her but at the Bennett family's house.**
**"Mrs. Foster, my gemstone ring is at the Bennett family's house. I'll go get it right away."**
**"Okay, Ava. Don't lose the ring and remember to bring it back. I'm going to sleep a little longer."**
**Mrs. Foster fell asleep again after Ava covered her with a blanket.**
**Ava went straight to the Bennett family's house to retrieve her gemstone ring.**
**Kylie, who had returned home as a refugee, was surprised when she saw Ava and asked: "Ava, why are you here?"**
**"I came for my gemstone ring," replied Ava coldly.**
**Gemstone ring?**
**Kylie's face changed dramatically.**
**Ava went upstairs and searched for her room but found no trace of the gemstone ring.**
**"Kylie, where is my gemstone ring? Did you take it? Give it back!" demanded Ava angrily.**
**Kylie did not expect that Ava would remember about the gemstone ring now. The truth was that they had given the precious item to the Harrington family in exchange for this marriage alliance without knowing its true value or power over their fate as well as their social status among high society circles in town.**
**In fact, Dominic wanted to marry Ava all along; she was his true Mrs Harrington!**
**"Ava, I don't understand what you're talking about! Do you have any evidence that we took your precious item? If not then we can sue you for defamation," Kylie said confidently.**
**"I'll search your room then!"**
**"You can't enter my room!" Kylie tried blocking Ava from entering but got pushed hard against a wall instead by an angry-looking woman who was determined to find her ring.**
**Kylie screamed in pain as she held her nose, which had been recently operated on and now looked crooked. **
**"Help! Someone call a doctor!" Kylie shouted frantically.**
**At that moment, Dominic called Kylie's phone.**
**"Hello, honey~"**
**"Where are you? I'll send my driver to pick you up. We're going back to the Harrington family's house because my mother wants to see you," said Dominic in his deep and magnetic voice.**
**What? Her nose is crooked now; how can she face anyone?**
**Does he want everyone to know that she has undergone plastic surgery?**
**Kylie wanted to refuse but the line went dead before she could say anything else.**
**She turned towards Ava and said: "Ava, go with him. You will accompany my husband instead of me."**
**Did this Kylie still want her as a substitute?**
**And this time around, it was for meeting Dominic's mother!**
**"I won't go."**
**"Ava, if you don't come with us then we'll both die together. After all, I can no longer keep Mrs Harrington's position anymore. I'll tell Dominic that it was actually you who slept with him that night instead of me; furthermore, you even pretended to be me for two nights afterwards! Do you think he would spare your life once he knows the truth?" threatened Kylie fiercely.**
**Ava paused for a moment before closing her eyes and saying: "Okay, I'll go."**
**When Ava arrived at the Harrington family's house where Dominic was waiting for her impatiently outside his car door looking handsome yet cold-hearted as ever.**
**"Why did it take so long?" asked Dominic irritably when Ava finally showed up after what seemed like an eternity.**
**"I...I'm just nervous since this is my first time meeting your mother," replied Ava hesitantly.**
**Dominic didn't like Kylie during the day, but today she had removed her makeup and revealed a clean porcelain face.**
**Her long black hair was tucked behind her snow-white ears, and her clear eyes were watery. Her delicate nose and rosy lips were alluring to him.**
**Dominic looked at Ava for a moment before suddenly feeling that she seemed like a different person altogether.**
**"You're not wearing any makeup today?" he asked in a softer tone of voice than usual.**
**"Yes. If you prefer me with makeup then I can go put some on now," replied Ava obediently.**
**"No need. My mother has been waiting inside for quite some time already. Let's go."**
**"Okay."**
**Dominic extended his large hand towards Ava.**
**"My mother has been urging me to get married and have children; we need to act as if we are an affectionate couple in front of her, understand?"**
**"I understand."**
