Chapter 32: Damian

A long hot tongue and dog breath wake me from a sound sleep. Samson must have stayed the night with Raul and now he's back. The damned dog has everyone in his life wrapped around his paws. I push him back so I can untangle myself from the covers and get up. Sam gives a short whine when he looks at his mistress buried beneath the covers; I call him so he doesn't wake her. Raul is sitting at the kitchen table drinking coffee and reading my newspaper when I walk out in a bathrobe.
"Make yourself at home why don't you," I grumble. "Hand over the business section," I add with my hand out. I'm fully aware most people no longer read an actual newspaper but I love it. At least when it's neat and in its proper order.
Raul knows my bark is worse than my bite in the morning. "I haven't been kicked out yet, so the little seduction scene last night must have worked."
I rub my cock and balls to Raul's delight. "The further advanced her pregnancy gets the hornier she becomes. She hasn't done a scene at the club in two weeks. I may be chafed raw in a few more days."
"You could be the only man on earth who complains about a situation like that."
I can't contain my grin. "Believe me that's not a complaint." Raul's laughter joins mine. "Did you by any chance let Sam out to do his business?"
Raul rubs a hand across his jaw. "He's been walked and fed. I lost a bet with your wife and he's mine at night until the baby's born."
My burst of laughter startles Samson, who is lying on the floor a few feet away. He stands up, circles twice, and settles back down. "You haven't learned betting is futile against Lydia?"
"You bet against her all the time."
"Yes, but I cheat." I wink. "All the time."
"She'd kill me if she thought I cheated."
"You're probably right," I answer smugly because I don't lose bets with anyone, including my wife. If I can't win, I don't bother. "Do you think you could handle things at the club for a few weeks after the baby's born?"
Raul appears startled by my question. I know he's been dealt his own set of cards when it comes to self-appreciation or more like depreciation. I'm relieved at his smile. "Yours could be the only BDSM club in the country run by a sub."
"Lydia and I live four floors away and if there's need for me to come down, I'll be sure to pound a few heads and whip a few asses."
"Bran will be back from his honeymoon soon. He sent me an email last night. If you don't mind, I'll ask him to give me a hand so we don't need to bother you. It will also save you from head knocking lawsuits."
"Between the two of you, I know you can handle it." Bran married my baby sister, who recently came into our lives. She was one of my father's offspring who I wasn't aware of until she showed up.
"Handle what?" Lydia asks when she walks in with tousled hair and wrapped in a bathrobe. She looks at us, picks up Raul's coffee cup, and takes a sip. "Needs sweetener," she gripes.
"Get your own cup," Raul snaps good-naturedly.
Lydia sticks a hand out and ruffles his hair. The two argue like brother and sister and love each other the same way. I'm glad Raul stayed here after Lydia agreed to marry me. He's been a bonus on the business end of things and Club El Diablo wouldn't be the same without him, nor would my wife.
She sticks out her tongue. "Mine won't have caffeine and it's not nice to remind me." Samson walks up to her for his morning attention. He nuzzles her stomach while Lydia scratches behind his ears.
"What are your plans today, baby?" I ask with a little more angst than I mean to. I shouldn't be jealous of the damned dog, but I really want to be the one who rubs against her belly.
Her sharp eyes miss nothing and she moves around the table and sits on my lap. "I think I'm just going to lie around and get fatter," she pouts.
"The F word so early in the morning? I'm keeping track and you won't be getting off as easily as last night."
That small spark of fire I've been waiting for enters her eyes. "There was nothing easy about getting off last night," she complains.
I arch my eyebrows at her tone.
"You need to give me a break. I'm having a fat day and I don't see it changing until this baby decides to pop out. Whining is the only way I can handle another pair of stretch pants."
I kiss her cheek and smile. Yes, I add another F word to my mental count. I know she's working to stay positive but some things just can't slide by. "Let me put a few hours in at my desk and then we can picnic at the park and take Sam with us. We'll give his dog sitter a break until this evening."
"I love you," she whispers and throws her arms around my neck.
"Just wait until tonight, though. We haven't had a serious spanking scene in weeks and I have a feeling it would help take the edge off both of us."
"I just bet you do," she adds with a soft kiss on my lips. I turn her on my lap so I can deepen the kiss. I forget Raul is even in the room, though it's nothing he hasn't seen before.
"I might puke over here."
Lydia and I turn our heads and glare. Raul grumbles while hastily leaving us to our morning kiss. He knows when to get lost and that's another reason I like him.
