The Most Memorable Thing
Seraphina smiled broadly, after struggling to complete the drawing assignment Kenneth had given her yesterday. She is confident in her abilities, she will definitely get praise from that cold and creepy hearted teacher.
Kenneth holds a piece of paper that she had given her as her drawing assignment. Kenneth smiled a little. According to him the Prince's painting is not bad, it seems simple but beautiful.
"Quite good!"
"Right? I told you, this is my real ability!" She said who was too confident.
"But, can you explain the meaning of this painting, Your Majesty?"
"Isn't it obvious? that's my painting with Judy when I met three boys, they gave me a bag of very delicious sweet cakes!"
"They are your friends?"
"Yes, they are my friends. I met the three of them this morning and they saved me and Judy from being chased by a dog, even Judy fell and injured her leg!"
"Prince chased by dogs?"
"Yeah right, I was very scared. But it turns out, the dog is not at all fierce. Rather good and also funny!"
"You out of the palace today without escort, Your Majesty?" Kenneth asked. He threw that creepy look again, making Princess Nathania shudder.
"Ah ... I ... that's me ... I ..." she answered haltingly. Seraphina just realized that right now she was throwing herself into the well.
The Princess was unable to answer, while Kenneth's gaze continued to intimidate her. Should she admit that this morning she had secretly left the palace to enjoy her new journey? or lying and making up stories?
"That I only dreamed, yes just a dream ..." she replied, showing a bitter smile.
Kenneth got up and took a quick step out of the Prince's study room carrying the paper containing the painting she had drawn two hours ago.
"Wait a minute! where are you going?"
"It seems, I have to test the Prince's honesty. You can wait here for a while, I'll be right back!"
"Wa ... wait a minute ...!" frightened, Nathania tries to chase Kenneth who is walking fast to find information that can help him prove the truth.
"I'm dead! how about this?" thought Nathania, cold sweat started pouring down her body.
Kenneth arrives at the Palace Hall of the Sapphire, asking some of the palace maids about the figure of the little girl named Judy.
"Judy?"
"Yes, is there a girl who is about the same age as Prince Nathan's named Judy in this palace?
"Oh yeah, maybe Lina's daughter who just came two weeks ago!"
"Then, can I meet her? I have something to ask!" Kenneth asked. This young man looked very stiff and serious, not in accordance with his very young age.
Nathaniawho finally caught up with the teacher, stopped right behind his back with a panicked face that looked very funny.
"Please Kenny, don't do it!" pleaded Nathania. She didn't want her lies to be exposed in a place like this, where many people were passing by.
"I've let you call me Kenny, Your Majesty! because of that, I have an obligation to educate you to be more disciplined!" he said firmly. He didn't care at all about the crown prince's lamentation that so far no one had managed to subdue her and stop her mischief.
"Mr Kenneth, I bring Judy!" said a maid who managed to bring Judy before Kenneth.
Judy stared in confusion, at the strange situation she didn't understand. Prince Nathan who looked pale and restless, was also a young man who stood firmly holding a sheet of paper.
"Are you named Judy?"
"Ah ... that's right!" Judy answered shyly. She glanced at Prince Nathan, who was standing behind the man.
"I am Prince Nathan's art teacher as well as an ethics teacher who also teaches discipline and manners. I want to ask, did you and Prince Nathan go out of the palace today?" Kenneth asked. Judy shuddered, somehow the question sounded scary. Judy glanced again at Nathania who was trying to show her pathetic gaze which indicated that she was in need of help right now, Nathania wanted Judy to lie.
"Ah ... that ... that ... no, I don't ... go with the Prince ..." she replied softly in a trembling voice. This was the first time Judy had lied and she was really having a hard time. But, for Prince Nathan's sake, Judy had no choice.
"Is it true?" Kenneth glanced at this little girl's skirt which looked dirty, like there were dirt spots and dried blood.
"Is your leg hurt?"
"Yes, a little ..."
"Have you been treated?"
"Already ..." answered Judy. She was really nervous, afraid to make mistakes and get Prince Nathan into trouble.
"Next time be careful when you meet a fierce dog!"
"Yes ... yes ..."
Kenneth was silent for a moment, his head tilted to the left and his eyes fixed on Nathania who was standing behind him. Nathania was getting pale, she didn't think that her new teacher was really such a scary person.
"Prince Nathan, I hate it when my student lies, especially if he is someone who one day will lead this enormous kingdom!" he said in a voice that sounded very cold.
"I'm sorry ..." Nathania's body was shaking. She couldn't imagine what punishment she would receive in a few moments.
"What is this ?" asked Queen Alexandra who suddenly walked through the Hall with Diana and Jia.
"Mother?" muttered Nathania. This is even more serious if the mother finds out that she had secretly left the palace without her knowing.
"I'm sorry, Your Honor," said Kenneth with a bow of respect.
"Kenneth? what happened? did Prince Nathan do something wrong?" asked the Queen Alexandra, throwing a suspicious look at her daughter.
Nathania bowed, this time not only the punishment from the teacher that she will accept, but also the mother. She really didn't expect something like this would happen to her.
"No, Your Majesty, I only gave the task to the Prince, because I think Prince Nathan has a very good artistic talent."
"Really? that's good then. I hope you can handle it, because Prince Nathan is a bit unruly and stubborn!"
"Yes, Your Majesty!"
"Nathan, tomorrow His Majesty will assign Prince Samuel to accompany you to learn ride on horseback. So, I hope you don't cause any more trouble!" said Queen Alexandra as she walked away.
As soon as the queen left, the atmosphere fell silent. Nathania realized that Kenneth had just covered up her mistakes from her mother.
"Prince Nathan, we'd better go back to the classroom. Judy, thank you for that?" said Kenneth as he stepped back into the prince's private classroom.
"Prince Nathan, I'm sorry ..." Judy bowed sadly, she was sorry that she couldn't help the Prince.
"Why apologize?"
"It's because ... because ..."
"Never mind, forget it! today was very nice. Next time, let's go out and meet them again?" Nathania smiled as usual, after quickly forgetting the difficulties she had just faced a few minutes ago.
"Okay ..." Judy bowed embarrassed, her cheeks flushed red every time she saw the sweet smile of the prince that made her heart beat very hard.
Kenneth looked back at the painting drawn by his student. He smiled as if he felt the warmth emanating from the simple painting of five children who shared sincerely with each other. Kenneth did not think that the most memorable thing for the prince was meeting his own people.
