Exterminator
Seraphina tapped her pen on the table, acting as if she was busy thinking about something. In addition, the sound of her breathing clearly made someone who was standing a few meters ahead of her guess what she was really thinking.
"Did you have a bad day, Your Majesty?" Kenneth asked. Having taught Seraphina for more than five years, Kennteh was able to read the situation his student was facing.
She lifted her head which had been resting on her left hand, her eyes were fixed on the figure of a teacher who for her was too stiff and disciplined, although at times it could be very helpful too.
"Kenny, can I ask you a question?"
"Of course, why not? you can ask anything and I will give the answer I know!"
"Is that so?"
"What would you like to ask? does it have anything to do with lessons?"
"No!"
"So?"
"It's about the devil,"
"Devil?"
"Yes, um...I heard that there is a forest that is a hiding place for the demons called the forbidden forest. Does such a thing really exist or is it just a legend?" she asked a little doubtfully. What she needed was answers to the questions that always arose in her head after entering the forbidden forest and meeting a mysterious young man.
Kenneth was suspicious of the unusual question Seraphina asked. Moreover, her body language tends to be nervous and anxious as if she is hiding something. Kenneth knows the crown prince is not a reliable con man, in fact, you could say she is very bad.
"Forbidden forest? did you just enter the forest?"
"No ... no, I ... I just want to know because my friends have discussed it!" she replied denied. It was impossible for her to tell Kenneth what she had experienced, even though Nathania really wanted to do it. But, if Kenneth finds out and gets involved, Nathania will be in big trouble.
"Really? you doesn't hide forbidden secrets?" asked Kenneth who was increasingly intimidating with his question and sharp eyes.
Nathania knew she would be cornered like this whenever she tried to keep something secret from her beloved teacher. However, the problem she faces is related to the role she is currently playing, which is pretending to be Nathan.
"O ... of course! I'm serious, I'm not lying, Kenny!"
"Hahaha ... well, I understand. Why you so panicked, Your Majesty?"
"Who doesn't panic when asked a question like that?"
"Very well, I will answer the Prince's question regarding the forbidden forest which is said to be inhabited by demons with very terrible power, they are also called 'exterminators' who will destroy anything near them!"
"Exterminator? what does that mean?"
"Gods send demons to live on earth to tempt evil people into cooperating with them, like a forbidden treaty that allows humans to have everything they want on condition that humans have to make offerings to the demon king,"
"An offering? is it like a sacrifice?"
"Yes, that's right. The devil wants to make a lot of followers to maintain their strength and therefore the devil also needs a human who is willing to give his life to the demon king,"
Nathania swallowed hard after hearing Kenneth's explanation about demons. Nathania's mind immediately fell on the mysterious black haired young man with turquoise eyes that were extremely sharp and bright. The young man had an unusual aura, he looked very cold, always had an angry expression that made him look like a cold-blooded creature.
"I've heard of countries that have become very prosperous because they established a kingdom in a valley known as 'the valley of hell' where all the strong demons gathered. But in exchange, the king would sacrifice one of their relatives as a 'vessel' where the demon king resided. very strong and the demon king's vessel is often used as a weapon of war which is greatly feared by the enemy,"
Kenneth was impressed by Nathania's explanation. Since when was the disciple who was stubborn and always made such troubles to know such legends. Kenneth knows that the crown prince is actually smart, but her desire to study is lacking.
"I'm impressed you can know the story that far. Did you read an interesting book in the library, Your Majesty?"
"Not really, Nathania once told me when we were little kids!"
"Is that so? Princess Nathania is very smart, right? I hope the princess can get well soon, I really want to meet her!"
"You always see her every day, Kenny!" she thought.
"So, do devils actually exist? if they do, do humans have demon-like powers such as controlling fire or turning into beasts?"
"I don't know whether demons are real or not, but when I read the legend of the formation of Lithonia, I realized that there are many things in this world that I have never met. Devils, just like Gods. They are not the same as us, ordinary humans. But there is one fact that I knew a few years ago about the kings who once ruled Lithonia. The first king was a descendant of Gods, it made him inherit a very large and often hidden mysterious power. The fact that only the descendants of the first king could inherit that power. But until now, I don't know what kind of secret power the royal descendants possessed,"
"Divine power? does it have something to do with the mysterious storm that hit Lithonia five years ago? Nathan, at that time he looked very strange. Is it true that Nathan is the heir to the strength of our ancestors?" Nathania was deep in thought. The memory of the great storm that had hit Lithonia five years ago which coincided with Nathan's strange behavior.
"Do you believe it?"
"I believe!"
"Really? why?"
"I just believe. After all, I am the descendant of the first king, that means I have no reason not to believe it, right?"
"You right, then this time it seems like I really believe that the prince is the descendant of a Great God!" Kenneth smiled as he gently stroked Nathania's head.
Nathania felt nervous because suddenly her head was stroked like this. But on the one hand, Nathania felt a little calm after previously she was restless and scared because of the forbidden agreement she made with the devil.
