Pretending To Be The Sun

Her eyes were facing the blackboard, but her mind was far away. Little by little, this teenage princess began to understand many things that she used to consider to be normal.

Seraphina sighed repeatedly, in order to fix her bad mood since the conversation with her mother this morning. Even though she didn't want to think about it, still the disappointment could not go away from her feelings.

Kenneth was annoyed by the sound of her breath which made the atmosphere in this classroom feel awkward. Kenneth who had been busy writing on the blackboard, was forced to look back to make sure that the crown prince had copied her writing on the book.

Kenneth narrows his eyes as the student is caught daydreaming with her mouth open and what super-assertive and disciplined teachers like Kenneth hate the most is when students don't pay attention to lessons properly.

"Looks like you're not doing well at studying, is there a problem, Your Majesty?" Kenneth asked. He removed his hand from the blackboard and approached Seraphina who was sitting in her chair.

"You talked to me, Kenny?" She gasped in surprise and immediately swallowed hard when Kenneth's face arrived in front of her.

Kenneth's face looks displeased and of course this is not the first time for Nathania to see such a face. Kenneth Has been her teacher for five years and not a single day has missed Kenneth's punishment for such a stubborn, ignorant student.

"I thought that I had been educating the Prince well for the past five years. But apparently, there hasn't been much change in the Prince!"

"What does that mean? I didn't do anything wrong today?"

"You may not have done anything wrong, Your Majesty! but daydreaming during class time is a mistake not much worse!"

"Forgive me!" Nathania lowered her head, her face showing regret. Kenneth was shocked, almost in disbelief at Nathania's sudden apology.

Since when did this naughty prince regret what she did? she is very wild and free-spirited. That trait was ingrained in her. If suddenly regretted her actions, it felt as if there was a hidden plan like there had been.

"You planning something else?"

"Not!"

"Is it true?" Kenneth still couldn't believe it. Not known what kind of attitude Nathania showed him so it was very difficult for Kenneth to believe it.

"I told you, right?"

"But I can feel the Prince's rotten plan!"

"Trust me a little, Kenny!"

"Hahaha ... well, I believe!" Kenneth laughed at Nathania's serious reaction.

Because this rarely happens, Kenneth increasingly feels that there is something that makes Nathania feel sad and as one of her closest people, Kenneth feels the need to listen to her problem.

Kenneth pulled out a chair and sat in front of Nathania. He folded his arms over his chest and looked at Nathania with a questioning look. Nathania frowned, seeing Kenneth who suddenly acted strange like this.

"What's wrong? why are you sitting across from me?" asked Nathania.

"Tell me what happened! looks like you're in a bad mood!"

"Grandma said, someone who is a teenager will definitely experience it!" she answered innocently.

"The Queen Mother said it?"

"Yes..."

"It is true, but of course there are reasons, why someone's mood can be bad. Not only because of age, but there are other factors such as, bad words and attitudes of others. So, did the Prince get bad comments from other people?"

"Not really, after all who would give me a bad comment, I am the crown prince!"

"Hahahaha ... is that right?"

"But, I always thought whether I should continue to be a crown prince for this kingdom? Do I have to do things that I don't like until I die?"

Kenneth was silent, this was the first time he saw the unhappy face of the prince. Kenneth knows very well how Nathania, this is different from what he knows.

"Are you unhappy, Your Majesty?"

"I'm happy, I'm very happy!"

"So why did you say that?" Kenneth looked at Nathania's beautiful eyes. Eyes that show the purity of her heart.

Nathania didn't know what to say or how to explain. This was not something she could say to anyone, including Kenneth. A problem only known to her mother, Doctor Franz, Diana, Jia and Helena. About the position she exchanged with her twin brother Prince Nathan for nearly 10 years.

Nathania bowed, she felt useless showing her sadness because it would be difficult to make other people understand. The only thing she could do was cover it up and continue acting like the Prince Nathan everyone knew.

"Looks like you pity me, Kenny? how about you just give me a few days off? maybe that way, I can ..."

"We continue the lesson!" Kenneth said spontaneously as he got up from the chair.

"Tch ... annoying! can't be fooled!"

"Your Majesty, I heard it!"

"Ahahahaha ..."

After finishing her class, Princess Nathania returned to Prince Nathan's room and hoped to receive comfort from him. However, at the door of Prince Nathan's room, Jia stood with a sad face and it made Nathania feel a bad feeling.

"Jia, what happened? why are you standing at the door?"

"Princess, the Queen asked me to guard the bedroom door so that the princess does not enter!"

"Why did you prevent me from entering? what happened? what's wrong with Nathan?" asked Nathania in panic.

"That is me..."

"You can't come in because Nathan needs time for treatment!" Queen Alexandra appeared behind Nathania and immediately answered her question.

Nathania looked back, looked at her mother who always showed her such cold and intimidating expression.

"Let me in, Mother! I want to see Nathan!" she asked with wet eyes.

"I already told you that you shouldn't visit him for a while, it's all for Nathan's sake!"

"But, I want ..."

"I don't want to hear about your rebellion, Nathania! If I say no, it means no. So you have to understand!" after giving the ultimatum, the Queen stepped into Nathan's room, leaving Nathania who was standing still in her place.

Nathania held back her tears, her hands clenched into fists, trying her best to fight her heart's desire to give up. She didn't know why, every time this happened, Nathania had a feeling that happiness was getting further away from her imagination.

"Princess ..." Jia stared with pity. Seeing the princess she raised looked so depressed by her situation. Nathania was crying, she realized it. It can be seen from her shaking shoulders, even though Nathania tries to wipe her tears so that everyone will still see her as the sun that brings hope to everyone.
