Chapter 33

He stood under the tree the whole time, not leaving, not looking at his phone, just staring at me. There was no way I could fall asleep.
When I leaned on the windowsill again, he slowly walked to the window.
"Can't sleep?" His eyes were full of indulgence.
"If you don't leave, how can I sleep?"
He smiled, "Then chat with me."
"Oh."
He suddenly bent down, lowering his head in front of me. He was too tall, and the windowsill was too low, this posture seemed a bit uncomfortable for him.
"When did you start carving the letter 'Brian' on the tree?" He asked me with a smile.
Feeling his breath so close to me, my face must have turned red.
"Freshman year," I replied honestly.
"Oh?" He looked at me leisurely, "You liked me since freshman year?"
My secret was uncovered, and I stood there in silence.
"Why didn't you come find me?"
"I did," I answered truthfully.
He was surprised, "How come I didn't know?"
"I studied finance at UCLA for my undergraduate degree," I said.
His brow furrowed slightly.
"You went to Fox University, I couldn't get in." I added.
Upon hearing this, he, who was originally relaxed and at ease, suddenly turned serious. He stared straight at me.
"Sorry, I didn't know any of this," his voice sounded a little hoarse, and he reached out, finally stopping at my cheek.
"You don't have to apologize. That's my choice."
Thinking of my obscure times of unrequited love, my nose felt sour and I couldn't help but want to cry.
He just looked at me without knowing what he was thinking, and softly said, "I'm really a jerk."
After speaking, he reached out and tucked my hair behind my ear, then, the next second, he held my face, lowered his head, and kissed me.
The world began to spin, and I forgot to breathe.
After a while, he finally let go of me, but my face had turned red and was not fit to be seen.
"I promise, in the future..." he held my face, his eyes filled with deep affection, "It's my turn to repay you."
"Okay," I obediently nodded.
"I will cherish you; I promise."
"Okay."
He looked at me again, his eyes gleaming with starlight, and lowered his head to kiss me again.
The moonlight outside stretched his shadow long, long...
Finally, my Brian came back.
