Chapter 36
The wedding took place as scheduled. Happiness seemed to have come too fiercely.
The most surprising thing was...the ring bearer was Daniel.
"Vanessa, I'm giving my dad to you. Can you come and visit me at the nursery?" He looked up and handed me a bouquet of flowers.
"Of course, I can." I bent down and hugged him.
He smiled sweetly at me and secretly put a candy into my hand. When I turned around, I saw his chubby little hand wipe away a tear.
When throwing the bouquet, Brian suddenly pointed towards the crowd and said, "Give it to your sister."
I looked at him, with questions in my eyes.
"She is there." He nodded towards me.
I took the bouquet and walked over. Cecilia was standing there, forcing a smile.
"You win."
I didn't say anything.
"I'm leaving tomorrow. I have a new boyfriend now. I wish you happiness." She smiled and took the bouquet from me, reached out and hugged me.
I stood still.
She raised her phone, took a selfie with me, and then turned around and left. I saw my mom standing behind her, quietly shedding tears.
As if sensing something, my sister came back, walked up to my mom, hugged her, patted her back, and then turned around and left completely.
Throughout the wedding banquet, I wasn't tired, but I could see that Brian was exhausted. He accepted every drink offered to him.
"Drink a little less." I pulled on the corner of his clothes, a bit worried about him.
"It's alright." He reached out and touched my head. "I'm happy."
At night, Daniel went home with us. I was even more surprised.
But he embraced me and smiled, saying, "I gave her ten million, allowing her to pursue her own happiness. It's worth it."
"Ah?"
That much?
"Because she's your sister and also Daniel's mother. Compared to your happiness and the child's happiness, it's nothing."
"Oh." I was just shocked because I had never seen that much money before.
"Do you think it's a lot?"
"Well, not really."
"And what gift are you going to give to me?" He laughed and said.
"What?" I gave off a knowing smile.
"How about you give yourself to me..."
Before I could react, he swept me up in his arms and took me to bed.
Under the moonlight, he held me closely.
"Goodnight, wife."
I watched him fall into a deep sleep, feeling sweetly satisfied. I looked at him, secretly falling in love all over again.
My love pours into my dreams and then into his dreams, and finally, on this night, it... blossomed.
The flower has blossomed beautifully now.
