Chapter 402 Had a Fondness for Lela

"You can't tell anyone about this. If Lela finds out, you'll be shipped off to Skya to dig for oil."

Robbie quickly replied, "I won't say a word."

He wouldn't dare!

Skya Country was a harsh, water-scarce region with relentless sun. Digging for oil there would be grueling.

Just then, the chef came out with a tray. Sylvester glanced upstairs, noticing Lela wasn't around. He got up from the sofa and headed upstairs.

When Demetrius arrived from the research institute with a medical kit, he was sitting in the golf cart and saw a large white-furred animal darting through the forest.

Startled, he rubbed his eyes and looked again. It was a massive white lion.

He thought, 'Good heavens! I haven't been mistaken—it's indeed a Big White lion.

The next second, the lion's eyes locked onto him with a cold, predatory gaze. Demetrius was terrified.

Shaking uncontrollably, he struggled to speak.

Seeing this, the butler comforted him, "Demetrius, this is normal."

In this vast estate that occupied half of Greafury City, every servant had faced threats from the Big White lion.

Demetrius's face turned pale, "Normal? Sylvester is keeping a beast here."

The butler looked at Demetrius with understanding, as their expressions had been the same initially, "Demetrius, although this white lion is a beast, it doesn't bite outsiders."

"What do you mean by 'doesn't bite outsiders'?"

"It means it won't bite anyone in Dragon Manor. The lion is Lela's pet, and she has let it smell each of us. We're family, so there's no need to be afraid."

At his words, Demetrius's body trembled even more.

"But it seems it hasn't smelled my scent."

Just then, the lion leaped out from the forest and lunged directly at Demetrius.

Demetrius stood frozen.

However, when it was just 3 feet away from Demetrius, the lion stopped.

Its eyes were fixed on Demetrius.

Demetrius was unfamiliar, and it hadn't smelled his scent.

But Lela had said not to attack humans indiscriminately.

The Big White lion, though clearly displeased with humans, had a fondness for Lela.

The lion circled Demetrius, its fur bristling and its stance defensive.

The butler hurriedly stopped the golf cart, looked at the lion, and gestured, "This is a doctor, a friend."

The lion glanced at the butler and thought, 'He is a member of the estate and should be trustworthy.

'Oh well, these humans can't defeat me anyway, so I just follow along.'

The lion casually scratched the ground with its large paw, then stepped back, lifting its chin with a look of disdain, as if saying, "Go on, you weak creatures."

The butler, having spent some time with the lion, understood its meaning. He smiled ingratiatingly at the lion, "I'll just take him over there."

The lion snorted, as if it understood his words.

The butler turned to comfort Demetrius, "Let's go, the lion has agreed to let us in."

Demetrius was speechless.

He thought, 'Could someone please explain to me what on earth was going on in this world?

'As a professor at Providence University and a doctoral advisor, I'm usually surrounded by adoring students and colleagues. Yet now I'm facing such a bizarre threat.'

Although the lion spared Demetrius, it didn't relax and continued to follow the golf cart.

Demetrius remained speechless.
