Chapter 470 Lela Finds an Aunt for Herself

Alvin looked up at Lela, his voice as deep as a cello, filled with complex emotions. He said softly, "Lela, you're still young and don't fully understand many feelings. It's true that Sylvester saved you, and you're grateful to him. I must also express my gratitude to him.. I'm grateful he saved my only niece, letting me know I still have a family member in this world."

Lela listened to Alvin's words, her eyelashes trembling, welling up with tears.

Only God knew the depth of her hatred as her kin were tortured to death one by one in the laboratory. Only God knew how sad she was when she thought she was the only one left in this world. Only God knew how happy she was when she found out she still had family alive.

Lela suddenly thought of Flora. She wiped the tears from the corners of her eyes and said, "Uncle Alvin, Flora isn't dead. I took her to The Divine Doctor Association."

"What?" Alvin's pupils contracted slightly.

Lela pursed her lips and recounted everything that had happened.

Alvin finally understood the situation. "So Flora just forgot the past?"

Lela nodded. "Yes. Uncle Alvin. If I had found Flora sooner, maybe that wouldn't have happened."

When Alvin saw Lela crying, he felt heartbroken and reached out to wipe her tears away.

Alvin said, "You're so young; what could you have done even if you found her? It's my fault for coming back so late."

At that moment, the office door suddenly opened. The somber mood inside was instantly lightened.

Nora walked in holding a bouquet of flowers, her voice gentle. "Sweetie, look at these beautiful flowers I picked for you."

Just as she finished speaking, Nora saw the scene before her.

Nora was momentarily stunned, then saw Lela's tear-streaked face, looking pitiful. She quickly walked over and gently comforted her, "Lela, what's wrong?"

Alvin was momentarily taken aback when he saw Nora, then cleared his throat, his eyes showing discomfort. "How many times have I told you; call me Alvin."

They weren't in that kind of relationship, and in front of Lela, Nora's way of addressing him was too ambiguous.

At these words, Nora's expression visibly stiffened, the light in her eyes quickly dimming.

Lela wiped away the tears from the corner of her eyes herself, catching a glimpse of Alvin's uneasy gaze from the corner of her eye. Coupled with Nora's earlier suggestive call and the current dimness in Nora's eyes, Lela immediately realized what was happening.

Lela thought back to Nora's gentle actions in the exam room. She liked Nora.

Before Nora and Alvin could react, Lela threw herself into Nora's arms, looking up with a soft voice. " You're my auntie, right?"

Alvin's face darkened.

Nora's mouth twitched, a trace of awkwardness flashing across her face.

Lela remained in Nora's arms, holding her tightly, not letting go.

Alvin was a bachelor, and Lela had to keep Nora for him.

Alvin said sternly, "Lela, what nonsense are you talking about? Let go."

Lela deliberately sniffled."Uncle Alvin, are you scolding me?" She hugged Nora even tighter, burying her head in Nora's soft, fragrant embrace. "Auntie, Uncle is scolding me."

Nora raised her hand to pat Lela's back, gently soothing her. She glanced sideways at Alvin, her tone still gentle but now with a hint of coolness. "Alvin, Lela is still young. Why are you yelling at her?"

Nora continued to soothe Lela, "Lela, don't be afraid. Alvin is just like that."

Realizing his tone was too harsh, Alvin felt guilty. He comforted Lela, "I'm sorry, Lela. I shouldn't have yelled at you."
