Chapter 33 Recompense
Chapter 33 Recompense
Dravos
It had been two months since I last saw Trinity and it took a fortune to fill vials of Khione’s blood discreetly, but I finally had six and now I dreaded this visit I wasn’t in the mood for her touching me. I sigh as I walk through the portal agitated instantly.
“Dravos!”
She was grinning at me, but my face showed my annoyance.
“Trinity.”
“What’s stuck up your butt?’
“Nothing. Are the preparations complete? I want to do this in time for the ball.”
“As long as you brought the last thing I need.”
“I have.”
I handed her the vials of Khione’s blood and mine. She took it and I made my way to leave again.
“Wait where are you going?”
“I need to get back; I need to get back to my preparations.”
“But we haven’t seen each other for a while.”
“I know, I know, but I’ve got a lot going on and my mood is just dark right now.”
“I bet a little relief can help with that.”
She tried to look seductive, and the sight made my dick feel like hiding.
“Another time. There's some drama I have to deal with. Those girls are annoying and unruly.”
I lied but she met them and didn’t like them so that was a plus.
“Of course they are. Go but we will make up for our time lost.”
“Sounds good.”
I nod and leave.
My jealousy grew with each report of Khione with her mates. That I was still waiting was beyond agitating. I didn’t care that I was going to share her I just needed her like I needed to breathe I needed this to work. The last thing I needed to do before I went to the ball was to give a great blood sacrifice and I had four in mind for this, now to bleed them out on the altar. I make it back to this farce of an alliance. I set up an elaborate dinner with false reports that they were somewhere we could access them well mostly her mates. Everyone is drinking and celebrating preparing for us to leave to this supposed trap. I’ve convinced Rita, Tina, and Becca to stay here and wait while my men and I leave with the Former Alpha and Beta and their wives.
“I need to teach that boy his place.”
Robert and his Beta have been chatting nonstop and I’ve been tuning them out. So clueless how could they be so foolish so trusting? We make it to the portal to the dark altar where I usher them inside. It seemed that it finally hit them that something was wrong, but they wouldn’t be able to fight the tainted wine they guzzled down bottles, and bottles of it would have them pliant and put their wolves to sleep leaving their bodies weak.
“W-W-What is going on?”
One of the stupid wives asked. I couldn’t remember their names at the moment.
“It is almost the might of the blood moon. And this night requires real blood, it requires sacrifices.”
“Sacrifices?”
Robert was in denial as he asked emotions flashing across his eyes.
“Yes. You see the thing is all of this, all that I’ve done was for one reason and one reason only. Khione, I want her, I need her, and she will be mine.’
“WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?!”
Hmm interesting the beta seems to still have a little fight left in him, not that it would matter in the end.
“I am in love with my sweet niece, Khione. Unbeknownst to her, we have met several times, I of course was always in disguise. But the more I’m near her the more I desire her. And now I can’t wait a second longer. I will make myself one of her mates, and in order to do that I need blood sacrifices.”
One of the women gags they all look at me with faces of disgust and horror as realization settles in.
“You…. plan to sacrifice us don’t you.”
Finally, one of the women has some sense.
“Yes, yes, I do. No point in fighting you have been given doses of wolfsbane over time. So focused on revenge you left yourselves wide open didn’t you.”
“Please wait. I never got a chance to apologize to my son….to Tristan for being so selfish, pigheaded, and foolish.”
“From what I’ve learned from having you all watched. He would’ve never forgiven you anyway. You all played a hand in trying to murder Khione. Taking her life for simply existing, for being your son’s mate. You sealed your deal when you foolishly executed this. Because I always intended on killing you for the first time you were the cause of her to cry and for every tear after that caused by you. When you made your son break her heart. You see what most people fail to learn and accept is this, every action has a reaction, and every cause has an effect. Every decision has a consequence, and this is your atonement.”
