The chaos was everywhere: warriors running into the fray, children, the elderly, and civilians trying to make it to the hidden shelters. I needed to get to Khione and the babies, but they kept coming. Bears, lions, and others. I’m guessing this is Colton, Quintan, and Christan’s family, but there were also wolves, and if the look on Nathan’s face says anything, this was the pack that kidnapped and enslaved him. I couldn’t believe they were all working together. I duck under a wild swing kicking and punching the sound of bones breaking under my fist. Jaxton clawing out some lion’s intestines Khione’s omegas were behind us her alphas judging by the warriors trying to get behind us they are their main targets. A portal opens and I was shocked to see those two fall out of it
“BECCA!”
“TINA!”
Jaxton and I both yell. They turn to us at the same time Khione lands on top of them her beautiful wolf clawing at their bellies and drawing blood when she goes for Tina’s neck someone throws a silver knife at her back. Hitting her in the shoulder, the growl she lets out shakes the floor and walls she half shifts to her second form her wolf standing tall on her hind legs, her front paws shifting back to her hands but covered in fur with claws. Standing in her half-human half-wolf was terrifying. Only those of a royal bloodline can shift like this. She grabs the knife yanking it out of her back and sending it flying back to its owner right in his chest. A fourth of the enemy had fallen to their knees displaying their necks in submission the rest were fighting the urge. Stupidly Becca and Tina run out the door and Khione chases. We send the omegas to the babies to lock down Khione’s bedroom the pack house and the shelters. Pushing back the warriors who managed to enter.


Jaxton
Fighting while keeping an eye out for Khione and an ear out for our children had me exhausted already, they just kept coming and soon we realized they had thousands of rogues in the mix. Tina and Becca shifted when Khione had them limping and bleeding she was clearly going to kill them earlier but now she was toying with them hurting them and letting them semi-heal while fighting the rogues at her back. When the two of them shift Khione bellowed
“ENOUGH!”
Shifting back to her human form calling on her magic snow descended from the sky in a manic whirlwind wrapping around groups of the enemy. You could hear howls, snarls, and screams as the freezing cold sucked them up and spun them around. Some went flying in all directions the sounds of bodies landing or hitting something hard with a thud the crunching of bones the gurling of blood some dying instantly others passing out or crying out in agony. Khione was efficient and ruthless. Those who tried to retreat were met with a blockade of snow she put up walls around the entirety of the territory. Then her voice echoed in the minds of every shifter another thing only royals could do connect any and all shifters and she probably connected to all witches as well.
“Do you think you can come into my home and touch my mates threaten my children, my pack, my family and GET AWAY WITH IT?”
Screams through the link echoed as she used the link to subdue them mentally clamping down on their minds, some of them who were still on the ground were writhing around clutching their heads.
“You have no idea the wrath you’ve brought onto yourselves.”
She squeezed tighter those of us who weren’t the enemy weren’t affected but we could still feel what she was doing a faint buzz in the back of our mind letting anyone know what would happen if they got out of line and turned against us.
Dravos/Dominic
Watching her in all her glory powerful brave badass and sexy I was in awe. I still thank the moon Goddess every night for letting me get this far. I know I forged a bond by cruel methods. Watching Becca and Tina come back was ridiculous I used my connections to contact The Order they opened a portal six of The Devoted stepped out with their two children. I made myself scarce as the two little toddlers confused screamed for their moms to stop. They were trying to make another lunge for Khione when they stopped dead in their tracks hearing their children, they turned to them regret heavy on their faces. Khione with no hesitation conjured silver and iron chains wrapping them around them as Tina and Becca tried to get to their children screaming their names but it was too late The Devoted already pushing them back into the portal. They fell to the ground screaming and crying. They made their choices though, and had no one to blame but themselves for their own heartache.
I have to admit as much as I hate them it was hard to watch the exchange between two mothers and their children. Children whom they most likely would never see again.



Becca
I watched my little girl being pushed into the portal I hadn’t seen since we found out Khione gave birth months ago determined that this time, I’d have my revenge and get back to her, but I failed again I FAILED AGAIN. I squeezed my eyes shut I couldn’t believe with thousands we still lost we barely made a dent, and we never got to kill her babies. The biggest discovery there was a boy and girl who looked like our son and daughter. We knew we each had three how did Khione end up with two of our babies? I looked at Tina, she was thrashing and losing her grip. I don’t know what Khione did, but no sounds were coming from either of us, not a gasp not a sound like she removed our voice boxes. I guess it was a spell but all I could focus on was the portal closing and our babies in her nursery with her babies. She stole my man and my baby, and there was nothing I could do about it. I felt the tears falling down my cheek. I should’ve stayed where I was kept my head down, and my nose out of the chaos I could’ve been with my daughter and now I’m a prisoner again

We sat with the kids locked in Khione’s room. We could here the chaos and the fighting outside trying to get them back to sleep to keep them calm and unaware. When she connected all the shifters in a mind-link we could see the ones held responsible being chained and arrested. I couldn’t say I was surprised to see Becca and Tina. But something caught my attention two toddlers being pushed into a portal the reaction of those two bitches were those their kids? Seeing everything from Khione’s point of view was interesting. Who were the fathers? When did they get pregnant? I don’t think Khione noticed it was from her eyes, but it was almost like a roaming camera her gaze passed over them almost unfocused only focusing on the fighting. Once everything seemed to settle and we checked the perimeter Khione let everyone know the lockdown would stay in place for the next few days as investigations would begin to figure out how they got this far without the alarms set around the territory.
