I had four hours left, they hadn’t come out of the house since I got here and tonight was the celebration, the ball in their honor this was my last chance. I walked around the whole banquet hall repeatedly and still, they weren’t there. I gave up and decided to go cry in the bathroom. With only a few minutes left it was happening they were finally here. I heard the music stop and a commotion. I turned around and saw a crowd form as they walked in. The two of them were arm in arm as her other mates surrounded them. The disguise spell I used only altered his appearance and scent slightly although permanently he was still as magnificent as ever.
Dravos my Dravos. Mine, mine, mine. I need to get closer to him, he hasn’t noticed me. I tried to reach out in the link and bond I created with him when we were kids, but it wouldn’t open, it was almost like it was gone but I didn’t feel a disconnect so what was happening?

My brother the King was right in front of me and didn’t recognize me, everything Trinity had given me was working. One day I’d have to thank her maybe sooner rather than later. I smell her but I’m making a pointed effort to avoid her. It would be a dead giveaway if she was too friendly with me. But she was signaling me, so I excused myself from my mate’s side making my way to the bathroom.
“Dravos!”
I ran into a storage room, and she followed me in. I kept my back to her annoyed that she was about to blow my cover.
“Don’t call me that anymore. My name is Dominic.”
“I’m sorry Dominic.”
She responded sarcastically
“What are you doing here?”
“I came to see if everything worked out, I’ve been here for a while now, but you haven’t been anywhere.”
“Yeah, I’ve been held up enjoying my mate.”
I couldn’t help licking my lips at the memory of her taste.
“And it’s been the best thing ever. Every part of her tastes so sweet and she is so extra and kinky we’ve done so many things in just a couple of days.”
“Wait what? Y-You’ve tasted her. Kissed her?”
“Well yes of course I have. She is my mate after all, it would be suspicious if I didn’t. But I want to taste her and kiss every day, all day I can’t get enough of her.”
“But you never did with me.”
“You are just my friend. Of course, I haven’t. I’m sure you’ve shared intimate things with your girlfriend that you never did with me.”
“Look at me.”
“What why?”
“Look at me.”
“Trinity, what is going on?”
I rubbed my eyes in frustration.
“I turned around and looked at her.”

I locked eyes with him and my entirety filled with despair it was too late.
“Dravos.”
I couldn’t hold back my tears.
“Don’t call me that. And why are you crying?”
“I missed my chance.”
“Your chance? Chance for what?”
“Chance with you.”
“What are you talking about?”
“I wanted to be your mate too.”
He paused and looked at me for a long minute.
“Trinity, what did you do?”
“I altered the spell to make me your mate either before her or with her. But my time has run out.”
He sighed shaking his head.
“But now you’ve already mated, marked and the mating ceremony is about to start. Now I’ll never get to be with you again.”
“Trinity we are meant to be friends nothing more.”
“But why?”
“Honestly, I don’t know, life would’ve been easier if we were meant for each other, but I never saw you as anything more than my friend and sister. I’m sorry Trinity.”
“Can’t we have one more time?”
“No way you are not a part of the circle Khione would rush in here and kill you.”
I knew that but I had to ask
“But now that you no longer have to focus on me so much perhaps, you’ll find your real soulmate and leave your crazy girlfriend.”
I chuckled darkly
“I mean it Trini I want you to be happy. We aren’t meant to be but that doesn’t mean I don’t want you to find love of your own.”
I hugged him and he was right, but it still hurt. But at least we would remain friends and that was better than nothing.
“What about the rest of our plans?”
“Still going as, you set it up.”
“That’s good. When we go back out there, we will have to ignore each other. The King is very perceptive, and you are a terrible actor.”
I laughed and nodded.

They finally stopped. I don’t know how long we’ve been here, and I lost count after 15 but it seemed endless. I dissociated myself from the situation let what will. Becca for all her bravado cried and pleaded the entire time. I don’t know how we got back to Dravos’s place, but I woke up in the room I’d been staying in clean and changed like nothing ever happened. But now that I was alone, I rolled over and screamed my heart out into my pillow.
“Jaxton where are you?”
The mind-link stopped working the day he marked her. He blocked me off from himself, but when I freed Becca and the rest, he cut me off from the dragon kingdom. I don’t know if I could go much longer. I needed him and he abandoned me for her, and it hurt, it hurt every day since.
Becca
Tristan kissed me thrusting deeper and deeper and he finally did it, bit me marked me, and it was heaven it was everything I ever wanted. I squeezed my eyes shut screaming his name and when I opened my eyes again it wasn’t him, it wasn’t his face. His face kept on changing he had a beard then he didn’t, he was bald, but his hair was long, blonde, and then black again, a red head, a scar across his jaw, icy blue eyes, and then black like tar. Endless faces repeatedly over me, behind me, next to me. I heard my screaming no longer in pleasure but in horror and pain and then I felt a sharp slap and I sat up quickly. I was back at Dravos’s place and Rita was shaking me. The tears fell automatically, and she was holding me cradling me like a baby. I did this for him, I did this for Tristan. It will all be worth it in the end, when I’m finally his. That’s all that matters, that’s all that matters, that's all that matters. Tristan.

The mating and bonding ceremony is complete I’m bonded to her mates and her as well. Even if found out nothing could rip us apart now
