I sighed looking at my phone again, she wouldn’t stop texting and calling me, the more she did the less I wanted to answer her. And then she sent me a cryptic text.
“So, you like the way she tastes.”
And that had my hackles raised but I didn’t want to fall for the bait, so I ignored it like I had the others. But what did she mean? How would she know I’ve tasted her when I always told her it was something I would never do? Was she spying on me? But how? My year with Khione has almost been peaceful now here comes the drama. I don’t want to cut her out of my life, but I don’t want her to be so active. Why couldn’t she understand that? She’s a part of my past, a life which I died and moved on from. I won’t let her ruin the only true happiness. The only true happiness I’ve ever known. I wasn’t being used as a tool like with my mother, forgotten like with my real father, ignored by the father forced upon me, a nuisance to a brother who hated my existence, and used for my status by all women who have approached me. She accepted me because we became mates but every day, she shows me she loves me, that she has fallen for me like I fall for her every time I see her. No, no one will ruin this no one will take away the only true pure love I’ve ever known. Khione is my forever, and I would rather die than live without her.
The question was, how do I find out without letting her into far? She would burrow into our world if I let her and she could spill my secret despite her risking being stripped of her powers if she was caught by Khione’s mother or Khione herself.
“Dominic?”
I turned and Khione walked in holding Danny and Ellie’s little hands
“Did you forget you wanted a picnic?”
I shook my head and smiled. It would just be the four of us today and while I don’t mind sharing her it was always amazing to have her to myself or with the twins.
“I’m ready let us go.”
I scoop them up and walk out the door, she giggles and looks at me in that way that makes me forget how to breathe.

I sighed heavily rubbing my temples. I was at a council meeting with the elders and some of the royal court when again Tina’s family demanded an audience she disappeared, and they blamed me although they knew the story and that she helped criminals escape and left of her own free will instead of accepting my mate. I was finally free of Tina now my father was addressing her father and Tina’s father was about to be arrested as he threatened my life and that of Khione if we did not return his daughter.
“I cannot return what I don’t have.”
I said beyond weary
“You have her prisoner or killed her or maybe your whore of a mate did it!”
“ENOUGH! You remained in contact with her knowing what she was doing knowing she was lying. Knowing she used a potion to force me to be with her.”
There was a collective gasp as my father yells
“WHAT?!”
I went on to tell them my suspicions and that I had her things thoroughly searched and found evidence. But waited for her to return to confront her.
“And the fact that you have not denied what your daughter was up to, you knew.”
Tina’s whole family was arrested and thrown into the lowest cells of the dungeon. The lower half was where Smiles the torturer dwelled, I shivered even I was disgusted by his methods but it was out of my hands at this point. I had enough and needed to get home to my Khione.

We were all having dinner and having a good time when one of the pack warriors interrupted to inform us that there were bear shifters from the LongClaw pack, both Christan and I growled.
“I’m assuming that’s your former pack and family.”
Khione asked and we nodded slowly. They have been trying to get in contact with us since they found out our mate is royalty and that her other mates are also well-connected if we were too weak for them as children we are too weak now we wanted nothing to do with them.
“Tell them we are not taking visitors at this time.”
The warrior nodded and walked away but a few minutes later he came back and spoke
“They said they’re not leaving because they are not some visitors, they are family.”
Khione was pissed off by the disrespect, and she got up and stomped all the way to the front of the pack house.
“Get off of my territory.”
My father’s eyes went eyes before looking at Christian and I and if at all possible, they went even bigger. We were once considered the runts of the family, now we stand 7’7 and 310 pounds of muscle we towered over him and the others he brought with him. All shifters were larger than humans but bears and dragons were the biggest. He stumbled over his words before regaining his composure
“We came to see our sons and welcome their new mate into the family.”
They clearly wanted something because it had been over a year. I wish they would stop pretending and ask so we can say no and send them packing.
“Abandoning your sons means they are no longer kin to you. They want nothing to do with you and neither do the rest of us.”
“I didn’t abandon them I wanted to toughen them up.”
“Bullshit!”
All ten of us said and then we looked at each other and laughed before turning back hateful glares at my former family. I loved how in synch we were.
“We are not leaving we have rights.”
My older brother said, and Khione growled and pushed her alpha power. They tried to fight the veins in the middle of their heads pulsated as they tried to push back but eventually dropped to their knees and bared their necks.
“Who do you think I am?”
“The princess?”
“You walked up here and scented my panther and thought I was simply an Omega. I should strip you of your bear counterparts.”
“What, you can’t do that?”
“Oh, but I can as the future Queen of Alphas I can remove your ability to shift your bear which would remain dormant in your mind driving you mad, and as future Supreme High Priestess I can remove the magic that binds your soul to your bear and the hollow emptiness will also drive you insane. Either way, you suffer.”
They look back and forth between each other.
“We came here because by law we get a place at court being family.”
She shrugged
“Don’t care I do what I want, so step foot here again or anywhere near my court and I'll either kill you or drive you to madness but you will never hold a seat in court you will never be granted rights and privileges as a matter of fact if you don’t leave in the next ten minutes I’ll have your pack stripped and your lands given to the BlackClaw pack and let them do with you as they will.”
Goddess, she was so ferocious and bold all over her mates stared at her and squirmed and adjusted she was so fucking hot.
“We will take it up with the elders.”
A slow scary smile spread across her face
“Go ahead and then we can put it on record how you abandon your children and abuse your pack. So, when I come for you no one will question it. Now the countdown begins. If you are still here, I'll let my dragon mate have fun, roasted bear sounds absolutely divine.”
And they took off Christian and I were bent over laughing watching them scramble over each other scared and I swear one of my brothers pissed his pants.
