Kidnapped
“CAN’T YOU feel that I don’t like you, Troy?” Isla frowned as she glared at the man who was giving the flowers and chocolates.
She’s been ignoring him since that day, yet he keeps on catching her attention.
“Hey, the jerky Troy Angelo, don’t wait until my cousin knocked your soul out of your body,” Becca asserted, pissed off.
Troy Angelo let out a devilish chuckle. “That old man is no much to me—”
“Arrogant. Don’t act braver, Angelo. You are nothing but a piece of shit,” Becca reacted, making the man clenched his fist.
It’s their vacant time, and they are sitting in the garden when Troy approaches them.
“They’re not married yet. So, I have the chance,” Troy uttered, making Becca burst into laughter.
“Oh, come on, dickhead. There are so many women there. Why does it have to be the person who already has a family and wants a peaceful life?”
Becca stood up, but Isla held her and pulled her down.
Troy gives the flowers and chocolates to his companion, who’s just merely smirking at them.
Isla sighed. “Can you just stop this? I am not interested. I love Zero and my daughter—I have a daughter. I’m building my own family. Isn’t that enough reason for you to stay away from me?” She can’t hold it anymore. Troy is pushing her to her limits. Even though Zero told her that she just let him, she has a short temper.
Troy smiled and sat beside her, but Becca stood up and pushed Isla to the side as she sat at the center.
Troy looked at Becca, wearing his icy eyes.
“What the hell are you doing?” Troy asked.
Becca smirked and crossed her arms in front of her chest. “I won’t let you get near my best friend again. If you wish, better have permission with Zero Cohen,” she said.
Isla shook her head and heaved a deep sigh.
“You heard me the other day, Troy. I’m out of your league. You better find someone else,” Isla said.
However, Troy just formed a sly smirk on his lips.
Becca arched her brow. “What are you doing now? Go away!” she exclaimed, making Troy get irritated.
“There’s no harm in trying. Besides, you are not yet married—”
“Are you this hardheaded? Zero will never give up on her. So, back off, dude. Back off. You’re an eyesore!” Becca let out in disgust as she pushed Troy away from the bench.
Troy’s companion let out a disturbing chuckle, making Troy hit him in the chest.
“I’ll get back, Isla—”
“No!” Becca reacted.
Troy’s forehead creased. “Why are you keep on meddling? Can’t Isla talk?” Anger can be visible in the man’s voice.
“Yes, I am. So what?” Becca fight fiercely.
Troy shook his head and tried to catch Isla’s attention, but she busied herself scrolling her phone.
Troy sneered and shot a death glare at Becca, which the latter gave back. “I won’t give up on this,” Troy asserted.
Becca smirked and raised her middle finger. “Back off. Shoo. Shoo. Your presence is hurting my eyes,” she said.
Isla pressed her lips to prevent herself from laughing out loud. And after a few moments, silence evaded.
“Geez, that Angelo. When will he stop? What did Zero say to you last time?”
Isla shrugged her shoulder. “Hmm… he will take care of everything.”
Becca smiled widely. “Great. Because I am getting irritated with that man’s presence. Yuck!”
Isla shook her head, and they continued to chit-chat until the bell rang. “Time for the next class,” she said as she stood up. Becca followed her.
“Did you do your assignment?” Isla asked Becca. The latter then nodded.
“It’s easy. Besides, Apollo came along last night, and I sought a little help,” she replied.
“I’m surprised that Apollo almost visits you every day.”
Becca laughs. “Of course, that jerky brother of yours just wanted to plunge into me—Ouch!” Becca exclaimed.
“Can you stop being naughty? And can you lower your tone?” Isla muttered and rolled her eyes as they walked their way to their next class.
Becca let out a soft chuckle. “Oh, come on, Isla. I know you are doing too—”
“Yes, we are, but I am not like you, who’s very proud that doesn’t bother if the whole university will find out,” Isla cut the hum of her words.
“Of course. I want them how rich my sex life is,” Becca replied.
Isla couldn’t help but massage her temple to control herself from beating her friend.
“I don’t know. If you keep doing that, I will stay away from you,” she warned, making Becca let out a disturbing chuckle that roared at the hallway, and students turned their gazes in their direction.
Isla smiled awkwardly and pinched Becca into her waist.
“What the—”
“Shut up, please. You’re creating a scene….” Isla said through gritted teeth.
Becca arched her brow and looked at the people who were looking at them. “What?” she threatened, making them continue what they were doing.
“Geez, you are really great at scaring people.”
“I know, right,” Becca replied, making Isla roll her eyes.
The whole week, they only get lectures from their profs, and next week, they will deal with their quizzes.
The professor didn’t discuss too much since she gave them handouts, and all they needed was to review.
“I didn’t see that, Troy, huh,” Becca said the moment the professor left.
I don’t even give a damn about him, Isla thought.
She arched her brow and stared at Becca with her arms crossed.
“What?”
Isla shook her head and scoffed. “You hated his presence, right? Now that he’s not present, you’re looking for him. Are you insane? Where’s your brain?” she asked simultaneously.
Becca rolled her eyes, “I’m just curious. Who knows if that jerk is planning a trap to corner you. So, don’t you dare stay away by my side,” she asserted.
Isla smiled. “I can handle myself. Besides…” she stood up, “—I have guards,” she added, making Becca frown.
“What guard?”
Isla smirked. “Nothing. Anyway, Zero can’t fetch me today. We’re gonna take a cab?”
Becca nodded as they started to walk.
“Guys, the prof is not present for our last subject for today,” It was a voice coming from their classmates who gathered on the side of the hallway.
Becca, who heard it walked closer to them.
“Is it for real?’ she asked, feeling close.
Ever since they entered this university, they didn’t dare to get attached to anyone except for the two of them. But now, Becca is asking as if they are her friends.
The woman who said it nodded and delivered the message again in a polite manner.
“Thank you,” Becca replied before she dragged Isla. “Girl, let’s go shopping. Let’s use Zero’s black card,” she said and glanced at her.
Isla frowned. “I don’t want to use—”
“Oh, come on. He gave that to you for you to use, not for just a display on your wallet.”
Isla heaved a deep sigh.
Last month, Zero gave his black card to her so that she could use it for anything she wanted. But Isla doesn’t want to take advantage.
“Soon, you will get married, and it’s great that Zero entrusted that card to you—his future wife. Why so being killjoy, Isla?”
Isla frowned and glared at her. “I better use this for my daughter than for you. Why don’t you get Apollo’s black card too? In that way, you can use it to buy anything you want—oh, before I forgot, you have one, right?”
Becca grimaced; her shoulders fell. “Dad cut it off. He limited my funds,” she replied helplessly.
Isla shook her head. “Then be patient and don’t push me to spend Zero’s money.”
“Hmph. Just one designer bag. Stingy!”
Isla couldn’t help but deal with her best friend’s stubbornness. “Fine. Don’t blame me if Zero finds it out through the bank statements.
Becca smiled. “Don’t worry about that cousin of mine. I know he will not get angry. How about you? What will you buy?”
Isla smiled. “My daughter’s need.”
“Geez, buy one for yourself too. Lingerie or lacy underwear so that Zero will get happy—”
“Why bother if you will remove it in the end? Don’t tell me, you and Apollo are having sex with your clothes on?” Isla teased, making Becca frown and roll her eyes.
“Of course not. We’re both naked,” Becca replied, unbothered.
She then shook her head and waited for a cab. However, after a few minutes of waiting, there were still no cabs stopping in front of them. They’re full.
“Geez, what’s wrong with cabs at this moment? If you don’t need one, they’re looking, but if you need one, they’re all full. Seriously?” Becca whined.
“Hmm… Let’s go on that side,” Isla pointed to the tall oak tree.
“No way, it’s creepy in there. There’s no way—”
“Cut the crap. Here it is,” Isla interrupted when finally a cab stopped in front of them.
Becca opened the door at the back and went inside as Isla followed.
“At the nearby mall, please,” Becca said to the cab.
When she saw the side view of the cab driver, he was wearing a masked which is unusual for drivers like him. Suddenly, she felt a strong jolt in her chest.
Damn, she had a bad feeling about this.
Becca was still smiling while she was simply observing the driver. Then suddenly, the cab takes a different route.
“Hey, Mister. The mall is that way….” Becca complained, “—why are you taking—” she paused when she saw a cloud of smoke enveloping their place.
Isla tried to hold her breath and didn’t panic, but the gas was too strong.
Before she lost consciousness, she saw the cab driver’s eyes.
“Troy…”
In the driver’s seat, Troy smiled triumphantly because, at last, he executed his plan. He slowed down and dialed a number.
“Hi, sis. I have a surprise for you—no, but you’ll see it. Meet me at our vacation house near the beach—yes, there. Sure. Sure.”
After that, he hung up and glanced at the back. He smiled and got his gaze back in front.
‘You’re mine now, Isla,’ he thought.
