Chapter 12 - Delta's hesitation
Jack let out a low chuckle, his eyes glinting with amusement. "That's easy enough," he said, his voice dripping with confidence.
Trixie's heart raced with anticipation. With Jack's help, her plan was finally in motion. She could almost taste the power and prestige that awaited her once Giselle was out of the picture.
As they stood in the secluded clearing, Jack's gaze bore into Trixie, his expression unreadable. "Give me the picture of this human you want us to target," he demanded, his voice gruff with authority.
Trixie wasted no time, reaching into her bag and retrieving a photograph of Giselle. She handed it to Jack, her fingers trembling slightly with anticipation. "It's easy to find her. She's a reporter for a TV network," she explained, her tone laced with determination.
Jack examined the photograph, his eyes narrowing as he studied Giselle's features. "I think I've seen her before, on the news," he remarked, his voice tinged with recognition.
Trixie's frown deepened at his words. "Make sure you can get her without a trace. We can't afford any mistakes," she insisted, her voice sharp with urgency.
Jack nodded in understanding, his gaze meeting Trixie's with a sense of assurance. "Don't worry. We'll handle it," he assured her, his tone steady and confident.
Trixie let out a sigh of relief, her shoulders relaxing slightly at Jack's reassurance. "Good. I want this to happen as soon as possible. We can't let Alpha Shane marry that human and make her the Luna," she declared, her voice resolute.
Jack's expression hardened at her words, a steely resolve flashing in his eyes. "I understand. We'll make sure it's taken care of," he promised, his voice firm and unwavering.
With a final nod of agreement, Trixie turned to Pia, Sheryl, and Eliza, motioning for them to follow. "Let's go," she said.
As Trixie walked through the forest, the rogues cast wary glances in her direction, their demeanor respectful yet tinged with apprehension. However, their gaze shifted to Pia, Sheryl, and Eliza, their eyes lingering on the three women with a hunger that made them uncomfortable. Pia furrowed her brows in annoyance, exchanging a concerned glance with Sheryl and Eliza.
Once they were safely back in Trixie's car, Pia couldn't help but voice her confusion. "Why do the rogues seem so respectful towards you, Trixie, but treat us like prey?" she asked, her tone tinged with frustration.
Trixie's grip tightened on the steering wheel as she navigated the winding road, her expression tight with unease. "The rogues are afraid of Jack," she explained tersely, her voice tinged with bitterness.
Sheryl leaned forward, her curiosity piqued. "How do you know Jack?" she inquired, her voice laced with intrigue.
Trixie let out a heavy sigh, her shoulders slumping slightly as she prepared to divulge her secret. "Jack is my mother's half-brother," she confessed, her voice barely above a whisper.
Pia, Sheryl, and Eliza exchanged stunned looks, their eyes wide with disbelief. "So Aunt Lucille has a rogue half-brother?" Pia exclaimed, her voice filled with astonishment.
Trixie nodded grimly, her jaw set with determination. "Yes, and it's important that no one knows about our connection to him," she warned, her tone serious.
Pia, Sheryl, and Eliza nodded in agreement, understanding the gravity of the situation. They knew the implications of revealing their ties to Jack could be dire, not only for themselves but for Trixie and her family as well.
As the car sped down the deserted road, a heavy silence settled over them, each woman lost in her own thoughts. Trixie's revelation had opened a Pandora's box of questions and uncertainties, but one thing was clear: they were in this together, bound by a shared secret and a dangerous alliance with the rogues.
When Trixie arrived home, she found her father, Delta Marlon, in the living room. With a sense of urgency, she approached him and asked if he could assist her with a matter of great importance. Delta Marlon, known for his unwavering loyalty to Alpha Shane and his strict adherence to principles, listened intently and nodded, ready to lend his aid.
“What is it, Trixie?” he inquired, his voice tinged with concern.
Trixie hesitated for a moment before gathering her courage to voice her request. "Father, could you speak to Alpha Shane on my behalf?" she asked earnestly.
Delta Marlon furrowed his brow, sensing the gravity of her request. "What do you need me to talk to him about?" he questioned, his expression serious.
Trixie took a deep breath, steeling herself for his response. "I want Alpha Shane to choose me to be his wife and Luna," she confessed, her voice tinged with desperation.
Delta Marlon's response was immediate and firm. "I'm sorry, Trixie, but I can't do that," he replied, shaking his head. "Alpha Shane has the right to choose his mate, and it's not my place to interfere."
Disappointment washed over Trixie, but she masked her emotions with a forced smile. "I understand, Father," she said evenly, though her heart sank at his refusal.
With a heavy heart, Trixie turned away and led Pia, Sheryl, and Eliza to her room, closing the door behind them. Once they were alone, she couldn't contain her frustration any longer.
"It's clear my father won't help us," she seethed, her voice laced with anger. "But we have the rogues on our side, and they'll do what my father won't."
Pia, Sheryl, and Eliza exchanged wary glances, understanding the gravity of Trixie's words. Though they were apprehensive about involving the rogues in their plans, they knew they had little choice if they wanted to change their fates.
As they huddled together in Trixie's room, a sense of determination settled over them. They may not have the support of Trixie's father, but they were willing to take matters into their own hands to secure their future, no matter the cost.
Trixie's eyes blazed with anger as she turned to face Pia, her frustration evident in her expression. "I already did your suggestion, I spoke to Delta Marlon," she snapped, her voice tinged with irritation. "He refused to help me, even though I'm his daughter. So from now on, don't interfere with any of my plans."
Pia, sensing the gravity of Trixie's words, nodded solemnly in agreement. "I understand," she replied, her tone serious.
