Chapter 22 - Elder's role

As Elder Ian and Elder Lyndon left the coffee shop, Trixie's grin widened, a flicker of triumph dancing in her eyes. "Now that they're on board," she murmured to Pia, Sheryl, and Eliza, "we've got the perfect scapegoats. If anything goes wrong and the rogues get caught, Jack and his crew will make sure to point the finger at Elder Ian and Elder Lyndon as the masterminds."
Pia, Sheryl, and Eliza shared Trixie's grin, their laughter echoing with a hint of malice. "That's brilliant," Pia exclaimed, her eyes sparkling with mischief. "No one will suspect us if the blame falls on them."
"Exactly," Trixie agreed, her tone laced with satisfaction. "It's the perfect plan."
With determined fingers, Trixie dialed Jack's number, her heart pounding with anticipation as the call connected. "Jack," she said, her voice low and urgent, "we've got Elder Ian and Elder Lyndon on our side now. They're in."
There was a brief pause on the other end of the line before Jack responded, his voice wary. "Are you sure they won't betray us? What if they tell Alpha Shane about our plan?"
Trixie's lips curved into a confident smile as she reassured Jack. "Trust me, they won't. Elder Ian and Elder Lyndon are only interested in their own gain. They wouldn't dare risk angering Alpha Shane by exposing our scheme."
Jack's hesitation eased slightly at Trixie's assurance. "Alright," he conceded, "but keep a close eye on them. We can't afford any slip-ups."
"Of course," Trixie replied, her tone determined. "I'll make sure everything goes according to plan."
Jack's voice crackled through the phone, his tone edged with impatience. "Just call me when we're ready to move in and get Giselle," he said tersely. "The rogues are ready whenever you give the word."
Trixie nodded, even though Jack couldn't see her. "Understood, but we need to plan this carefully. Giselle and her family are living in the mansion now. Security will be tighter than ever."
Jack sighed, a mix of frustration and determination in his voice. "I get it. Just don't take too long. The longer we wait, the more likely it is that something could go wrong."
"Don't worry," Trixie reassured him. "I've already got a plan forming. We need to make sure every detail is perfect. I'll contact you as soon as we're ready."
After hanging up, Trixie turned to Pia, Sheryl, and Eliza, who had been listening intently. "We need to figure out the best way to get Giselle out of that mansion without raising suspicion. We can't afford any mistakes."
Pia leaned forward, her eyes gleaming with anticipation. "What if we create a distraction? Something big enough to draw the guards away from Giselle and her family."
Sheryl nodded in agreement. "A diversion could work. But it has to be something that won't immediately make them suspect us."
Eliza, always the more strategic thinker, added, "We also need to make sure Elder Ian and Elder Lyndon are ready to play their part. If they can convince the guards to let the rogues in, it'll make everything much easier."
Trixie considered their suggestions, her mind racing with possibilities. "A distraction is a good idea. But it has to be something that won't trace back to us. We need to think of something that would naturally draw attention away from Giselle's family."
Pia's eyes lit up. "What about a false alarm? Like a fire or a security breach on the other side of the mansion?"
Trixie nodded slowly. "A false alarm could work. It would need to be something that seems urgent enough to pull the guards away but not so serious that it causes a lockdown."
Sheryl added, "And we need to make sure that Elder Ian and Elder Lyndon are in position to act immediately once the distraction is in place. They need to ensure the rogues can get in and out quickly."
Eliza, ever the voice of caution, reminded them, "We also need to consider the aftermath. If the rogues get caught, we need a way to make sure they don't expose us. We have to be prepared for every possible outcome."
Trixie nodded, her mind already formulating the details. "I'll talk to Elder Ian and Elder Lyndon again to finalize their roles. We need to be sure they understand what's at stake and that they can't afford to get caught either."
Pia grinned. "Once we get rid of Giselle, Alpha Shane will have no choice but to reconsider his decision. And if we play our cards right, he'll see that you're the only suitable Luna for the pack."
Trixie smiled, feeling a surge of confidence. "Exactly. This is our chance to set things right. We just need to make sure every step is perfectly executed."
With a renewed sense of purpose, Trixie grabbed her phone and dialed Elder Ian's number. As the call connected, she could hear the smug satisfaction in his voice. "Trixie, what can I do for you?"
"We need to meet again," Trixie said firmly. "We have to finalize our plan. I'll need you and Elder Lyndon to be ready to act immediately when the time comes."
Elder Ian's chuckle was low and menacing. "Of course. Just tell us when and where."
Trixie arranged a meeting for the following evening, then hung up and turned back to her friends. "We'll meet with the elders tomorrow to go over the plan. In the meantime, we need to figure out the best way to create that distraction."
Sheryl suggested, "We could use the mansion's security system against them. Trigger a false alarm in one of the less occupied wings."
Eliza nodded. "And we can use that opportunity to get the guards away from Giselle's area."
Pia added, "We should also prepare an alibi for ourselves. If anyone asks, we need to make sure we were nowhere near the mansion when it happens."
Trixie agreed. "Right. We'll need to be seen somewhere public, far from the mansion, when the plan goes down. That way, no one will suspect us."
As they continued to strategize, Trixie felt a sense of excitement and anticipation building. They were on the brink of a major victory, and with careful planning, they would finally get rid of Giselle and secure her place as the rightful Luna of the pack.
