Chapter 43 - Personal Meeting
After a few days, Alpha Shane and Delta Marlon sat across from each other in Alpha Shane’s office in the mansion. The room was quiet, the only sound the ticking of the grandfather clock in the corner. Delta Marlon looked at Alpha Shane with a mix of curiosity and concern.
"Why did you ask for a personal meeting?" Delta Marlon began, his voice steady but laced with apprehension.
Alpha Shane leaned back in his chair, his expression serious. "Lucille told me something troubling," he started, choosing his words carefully. "She said she didn’t know she was already pregnant when she married you."
Delta Marlon’s eyes widened in surprise. He took a moment to process the information before responding. "I’ve always had my suspicions," he admitted. "When we first became a couple, something felt off. I was shocked when Lucille became pregnant almost instantly."
Alpha Shane nodded, his expression thoughtful. "Did Lucille ever tell you she was raped before she became your wife?" he asked, watching Delta Marlon closely.
Delta Marlon sighed heavily, leaning forward in his chair. "She did," he confessed. "But I didn’t believe her at first. Eighteen years ago, I knew Lucille had another mate before me. She said she no longer saw him once we became mates, but I always wondered."
Alpha Shane frowned, the pieces of the puzzle slowly coming together. "So either Lucille lied to you, or she lied to me," he said, his tone cold.
Delta Marlon nodded slowly. "It’s possible," he said quietly. "Lucille always had a way of keeping secrets. But if she was telling the truth about the rape, then it changes everything."
Alpha Shane leaned forward, his eyes piercing. "Do you think Lucille’s former mate could be Trixie’s real father?" he asked, the implications heavy in the air.
Delta Marlon looked down, his mind racing. "I don’t know," he admitted. "But it’s possible. Lucille never spoke much about her past, and I never pressed her."
Alpha Shane drummed his fingers on the desk, deep in thought. "We need to find out the truth," he said firmly. "If Trixie’s father is a rogue, it could mean serious trouble for the pack."
Delta Marlon nodded in agreement. "But how do we do that?" he asked, his voice tinged with worry.
Alpha Shane met his gaze, determination in his eyes. "We start by investigating Lucille’s past," he said. "We need to find out who her former mate was and if he could be Trixie’s father."
Delta Marlon sighed, feeling the weight of the situation. "Lucille won’t make it easy," he warned. "She’s always been good at hiding things."
Alpha Shane nodded. "I know," he said. "But we don’t have a choice. For the sake of the pack, we need to uncover the truth."
Delta Marlon sat back in his chair, his mind racing. "What do you need me to do?" he asked, his voice resolute.
Alpha Shane looked at him, his expression serious. "I need you to help me investigate," he said. "Talk to Lucille, see if you can get her to open up. In the meantime, I’ll have Leo look into her past and see what he can find."
Delta Marlon nodded, determination in his eyes. "I’ll do whatever it takes," he said firmly. "For the sake of the pack and for Trixie."
Alpha Shane leaned back in his chair, his mind already racing with plans. "We’ll get to the bottom of this," he said. "And if we find out that Lucille has been lying, there will be consequences."
Delta Marlon nodded, his expression grim. "I understand," he said quietly. "And I agree. The truth needs to come out, no matter what."
The two men sat in silence for a moment, the weight of the situation heavy in the air. They both knew that uncovering the truth would not be easy, but they were determined to do whatever it took to protect the pack and their loved ones.
Finally, Delta Marlon stood up, his resolve clear. "I’ll talk to Lucille tonight," he said. "I’ll see if I can get her to open up."
Alpha Shane nodded, standing up as well. "Thank you, Marlon," he said sincerely. "We’ll get through this together."
Delta Marlon nodded, a sense of determination in his eyes. "We will," he agreed. "For the sake of the pack."
As Delta Marlon left the office, Alpha Shane sat back down, his mind racing with plans. He knew that uncovering the truth would not be easy, but he was determined to do whatever it took to protect his pack and his future with Giselle. He picked up the phone and called Leo, instructing him to start the investigation immediately.
Hours later, Alpha Shane sat alone in his office, the weight of the situation heavy on his shoulders. He knew that uncovering the truth about Lucille and Trixie would be difficult, but he was determined to do whatever it took to protect his pack and his future.
As the night wore on, Alpha Shane continued to plan, his mind racing with possibilities. He knew that the road ahead would be difficult, but he was ready to face whatever challenges came his way. For the sake of his pack, and for his future with Giselle, he would uncover the truth, no matter what it took.
The next day, Delta Marlon approached Lucille with a mix of caution and determination. He knew that getting her to open up would not be easy, but he was prepared to do whatever it took to uncover the truth. As they sat together in their home, he broached the subject gently.
"Lucille," he began, his voice steady. "We need to talk."
Lucille looked at him, a flicker of apprehension in her eyes. "About what?" she asked, her voice guarded.
Delta Marlon took a deep breath, choosing his words carefully. "About Trixie," he said. "And about your past."
Lucille's eyes widened slightly, but she quickly composed herself. "What about my past?" she asked, her voice steady.
Delta Marlon met her gaze, his expression serious. "I need to know the truth," he said quietly. "About Trixie's father."
Lucille's expression hardened, and she looked away. "I already told you," she said, her voice tense. "I was raped before we got married. I don't know who Trixie's father is."
Delta Marlon reached out, gently taking her hand. "Lucille, please," he said softly. "I need you to be honest with me. For the sake of our family."
Lucille's eyes filled with tears, and she looked down at their joined hands. "I am being honest," she whispered, her voice trembling. "I don't know who he was."
Delta Marlon sighed, his heart aching for his wife. "I believe you," he said gently. "But we need to find out the truth. For Trixie's sake."
Lucille looked up at him, her eyes filled with a mix of fear and determination. "What do you want me to do?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
Delta Marlon squeezed her hand, his expression resolute. "We need to find out who your former mate was," he said. "And see if he could be Trixie's father."
Lucille nodded slowly, her resolve clear. "I'll do whatever it takes," she said quietly. "For Trixie."
As they sat together, Delta Marlon felt a sense of hope. He knew that uncovering the truth would be difficult, but with Lucille by his side, he was ready to face whatever challenges came their way. For the sake of their family and their future, they would uncover the truth, no matter what it took.
