Chapter 21 - Coffee talks
Trixie's voice cut through the tension like a knife, causing Elder Ian and Elder Lyndon to pause in their tracks. They turned to face the four women, their expressions shifting from anger to curiosity as they listened to Trixie's request.
"Wait, please," Trixie called out, her tone surprisingly calm despite the intensity of the situation.
Elder Ian and Elder Lyndon exchanged a glance, their features softening slightly at Trixie's polite request. With a nod, they acquiesced, allowing Trixie and her companions to approach.
"What do you want?" Elder Ian asked, his voice gruff but tinged with curiosity.
Trixie flashed a confident grin, her eyes gleaming with determination. "We want to talk to you about Giselle," she declared, her words ringing with purpose.
Elder Lyndon raised an eyebrow, his interest piqued. "Giselle? What about her?" he inquired, his tone laced with intrigue.
Trixie gestured toward her car, a subtle invitation for the elders to follow. "Why don't we discuss it in private?" she suggested, her smile widening.
Elder Ian and Elder Lyndon exchanged another glance, their curiosity getting the better of them. With a shrug, they followed Trixie to her car, the tension between them momentarily forgotten as they embarked on this unexpected conversation.
The coffee shop sat on the outskirts of the city, a quiet oasis away from the hustle and bustle of the pack territory. Trixie expertly maneuvered her car into a parking spot, her companions—Pia, Sheryl, and Eliza—eagerly stepping out alongside her.
As they entered the cozy establishment, the aroma of freshly brewed coffee enveloped them. Trixie led the way to a secluded corner, where they could discuss their plans without interruption.
Elder Ian and Elder Lyndon arrived soon after, their presence casting a shadow over the group. With a subtle glance, Trixie motioned for the elders to join them, and they obliged, their eyes lingering on the young women with a hunger that made Trixie's skin crawl.
Seated at the table, Elder Ian and Elder Lyndon wasted no time in getting to the point. "So, what do you want to talk about?" Elder Ian inquired, his tone laced with thinly veiled curiosity.
Trixie exchanged a glance with her companions, silently urging them to remain composed. "We need to discuss Giselle," she replied evenly, her voice carrying an undercurrent of determination.
The elders' interest piqued at the mention of Giselle's name, their eyes narrowing with intrigue. "Ah, the human Luna-to-be," Elder Lyndon remarked, a smirk playing at the corners of his lips. "What about her?"
Trixie resisted the urge to bristle at the elders' condescending tone. "We believe that Giselle is unfit to be the Luna," she stated firmly, her gaze locking with theirs. "And we're not alone in that belief."
Elder Ian and Elder Lyndon exchanged a knowing look, their expressions shifting from amusement to something more calculating. "Interesting," Elder Ian mused, his gaze flickering between Trixie and her companions. "And what do you propose we do about it?"
Trixie's lips curved into a sly smile. "We need to ensure that Giselle's position as Luna is no longer tenable," she replied, her voice tinged with determination. "And we're hoping you can help us with that."
Elder Ian's brows furrowed in skepticism as he processed Trixie's words. "But the Alpha already decided," he countered, his tone tinged with doubt.
Trixie met Elder Ian's gaze head-on, her grin unwavering. "True," she conceded, her voice laced with confidence. "But even if the Alpha has made his decision, it doesn't mean we have to sit idly by and accept it."
Pia, Sheryl, and Eliza nodded in agreement, their expressions resolute. Trixie's words had ignited a spark of defiance within them, fueling their determination to challenge the status quo.
Elder Lyndon leaned forward, his eyes gleaming with intrigue. "And what do you propose we do, then?" he inquired, his voice dripping with curiosity.
Trixie's grin widened mischievously as she leaned forward, her eyes glinting with determination. "I have a plan," she announced boldly, her voice low but brimming with confidence.
Elder Ian and Elder Lyndon exchanged a skeptical glance, their brows furrowing in uncertainty. "And what might that be?" Elder Ian inquired cautiously, his tone betraying his wariness.
Trixie's grin only grew wider as she revealed her daring scheme. "I'm going to enlist the help of the rogue," she declared, her words ringing with conviction.
Elder Lyndon's eyes widened in surprise, while Elder Ian's expression darkened with concern. "But dealing with the rogue is dangerous," Elder Lyndon protested, his voice tinged with caution. "They're unpredictable and volatile."
Trixie waved off their concerns with a dismissive flick of her hand. "I've already made contact with them," she explained, her tone dripping with assurance. "And they're willing to help us."
Elder Ian's eyes narrowed skeptically as he regarded Trixie. "And what, pray tell, is their incentive?" he pressed, his tone laced with suspicion.
Trixie's grin turned sly as she leaned back in her seat, her gaze locking with Elder Ian's. "Let's just say they have their reasons," she replied cryptically, a hint of mischief dancing in her eyes.
Elder Lyndon leaned forward, his curiosity piqued. "And what role do you expect us to play in this plan of yours?" he inquired, his tone laced with skepticism.
Trixie's grin widened as she outlined their part in the scheme. "Your task is simple," she explained, her voice dripping with confidence. "You'll ensure that the rogue can infiltrate the mansion without raising any suspicion."
Elder Ian's expression darkened at the suggestion. "And how exactly do you propose we do that?" he demanded, his tone tinged with distrust.
Trixie's grin turned devilish as she revealed her strategy. "You'll order the guards to stand down," she declared boldly, her voice low but unwavering. "That way, the rogue can slip past them undetected and carry out their mission."
Elder Lyndon's eyes widened in alarm, while Elder Ian's jaw clenched with apprehension. "But won't that put Giselle and the Alpha in danger?" Elder Lyndon protested, his voice tinged with concern.
Trixie's grin remained firmly in place as she dismissed their worries with a wave of her hand. "Not if we handle it carefully," she assured them, her confidence unwavering. "The rogue knows to be discreet, and they won't harm Giselle unless absolutely necessary."
Elder Ian and Elder Lyndon exchanged a wary glance, silent communication passing between them. After a moment of deliberation, they both nodded reluctantly.
"We'll do it," Elder Ian conceded, his voice resigned. "But if anything goes wrong, you'll be the one to answer for it."
Trixie's grin remained unwavering as she nodded her agreement. With the elders on board, their audacious plan was one step closer to becoming a reality.
She extended her hand towards Elder Ian and Elder Lyndon, her grip firm and resolute. "Remember," she urged, her voice low but commanding. "This stays between us. No one else can know."
Elder Ian and Elder Lyndon exchanged a knowing glance before returning Trixie's shake with equal firmness. "You have our word," Elder Ian affirmed, his voice low but resolute.
Trixie's lips curled into a satisfied smile as she released their hands, her gaze locking with theirs. "Good," she replied, her tone tinged with satisfaction. "Let's make this happen."
