Chapter Eleven

*“Yyeess. Montai please don’t stop! I.. I’m.. Fuck!” *

The morning started with a good morning kiss and led to something more. Bodies drenched in sweat as the morning birds woke up and began their morning song. After a moment of sweet bliss, they took turns bathing one another. After bathing one another they gathered some more fruits from the trees outside the cave and coconut. They sat and ate a simple, light, and fresh breakfast. After breakfast, Montai spoke of showing her the island since it had been such a long time since she had been here.

They were on their way to the island shores when one of Montai’s brothers ran towards them from a distance. Montai had been told they would have three days of peace yet with the look on Nile’s he knew that was soon coming to an end. Holding her tight and tucking her behind him. Even though she was safe and Nile would never touch her, Montai's instincts were on high alert. Once Nile reached them he bowed. Montai quickly waved with a gesture of his hand explaining to his friend that he never has to bow down to him.

“What’s going on Nile? We were supposed to have one more day of peace.” Nile’s foggy grey eyes deepened with concern. “There is an urgent duty that needs the attention of both King and Queen but the grand meeting must be completed first.” Montai simply nodded and before anything else could be said Nile headed back to the palace. When his image was out of sight Montai’s attention turned back to Lelani who was wearing rather revealing clothing.

A growl ran deep through his throat as he pulled her close. Grasping onto her arse before nuzzling her neck. “I’m going to need you to change into something less revealing my love. My brothers still haven’t found their mates and if I catch them looking at you this way I might just lose it.” Lelani giggled, rolling her eyes before snapping her fingers. A delicate dove white Greece goddess-like dress flowed over her. No shoes and she had her gold bracelet as always. Purple pastel eyes and her hair parted into two lovely braids that ran down her back. Even in the most simplest outfit, she was beautiful and it made him want to take her yet again right there.

Swallowing hard as they walked, well he walked and he carried her back to the palace. Montai was wearing no shoes, black pants, and no shirt. It wasn’t in a Lycan to be formal. Their roots were wild The beast inside them wild. Even the man himself was wild. Formal clothes did not suit them. They reached the back of the palace heading to the mazed garden where the ceremony was to be held. Montai’s father was leading the ceremony. Standing in front of a beautiful pearl marble fountain that was in the middle of the maze surrounded by a beautiful set of willow trees and blue Chinese wisteria trees. A wonderful setting for a beautiful moment.

Montai and Lelani’s hands and wrist were tied together by a beautiful scarf. It had this odd velvet silk feel to it. A lovely purple color, an old piece of cloth he was able to save that meant much to her people. Glancing at Lelani he could see the warm smile and water set at the bottom of her eyelids. Wishing he could give her more. They kissed and drunk from a rare chalice used in Lycan rituals. The moment the ceremony was complete their eyes began to glow and markings they once wore long ago appeared on their face once more. The elders and Montai’s brother’s eyes lit up too. However, they didn’t have any markings. Something only meant to dignify the King and Queen. The ceremony was complete and now everyone in the palace was linked together. Nakuru was their home and they could pass through the border as they pleased. Lelani stood shaking hands with elders and Montai’s Lycan brothers. Though they were not brothers by blood they were by heart and by the tribe.

Roars filled the garden. Hugs and tears and laughs were shared. For a moment, Lelani simply stared at the ones around her. Montai, the elders, his brothers, the few amount of kids and women that belonged to the elders running around. She missed her family but she was home and had a new one. As everyone went inside for food and beer Lelani pulled Montai further into the maze.

They were able to whisper a few I love you’s and kiss one another a few times before they heard footsteps approaching. Montai had decided that the elders would stay at the palace while he, his wife, and his brothers ventured towards the border. Unsure of what would await them. The only information they had was it was supernatural beings at the borderline and they wanted to speak to the Queen. They walked in silence being swallowed under trees and covered with shade. Approaching the island shoreline. Meeting halfway along the beach where an invisible shield kept two worlds apart.

There on the other side, they could see darkness. Pitch black as they hid in a deeper part of the forest. Red bloody eyes peering back at them. A growl in Montai’s chest as the hairs on his arms raised.
