Chapter Fifteen
“What in the devil’s sane mind is this?” Montai and the rest of his brothers had returned to their normal phase. Thanks to the magic that Lelani possessed she was able to place clothes on the boys with just a wave of her hand. It was nothing but a pair of ripped shorts, no shoes, and no shirt. But, nonetheless, they had something to cover the important parts. She didn’t see a reason for wasting good clothes if they were just constantly going to rip through them.
As Montai asked his question out loud he held a piece of the creature’s arm up with his thumb and pointer finger. Giving a disgusted look before tossing the arm to the ground. The woman they saved from the creature gave no time to scream and run off towards the closet building.
Boa was about to run after her but Lelani stood in front of him to stop the chase. When he scoffed and tried to ignore her wish by brushing by her his next steps were met with Montai. Whose eyes went red for the first time as he growled. A whimper actually escaped Boa’s mouth as he stepped back and fell in line with the rest of the brothers.
When the woman could no longer be heard Lelani spoke clearly but also in a whisper. “That creature is a skinwalker.” You saw the men’s eyes get wide before Nile spoke with a confused tone. “These are not like any skinwalkers I’ve read about.”
Lelani shrugged shaking her head. “No, they are not. They are Nakuru versions. They are the skinwalkers we know. And they are vile creatures not welcomed in our lands. Skinwalkers are the souls of madmen and insane women. They say humans unable to find peace and lost. Searching for an identity to claim. Lurking on prey in the darkness. Or.. At least that’s what I’ve heard. They are still very unknown creatures. Probably the vilest of them all.”
Lelani and the rest of them heard what sounded like a horn off in the distance. She grew quiet as she lingered closer to the darkness. Nodding her head as she motioned them to follow.
***~ Dracula’s Castle ~ Bran, Romania ~***
“I see everyone made it.”
Lannister spoke in front of the large crowd of different creatures that stood before him. He stood on the front steps of Dracula’s castle. The moon shining down on them all brightly as he glanced around him. The leaders of various creatures standing before him.
Lannister the king of Vampires, followed by the clan leader for blood elves. Clan leader of the Jinns, clan leader of the trolls, and it seemed like the leader of the skinwalkers was missing. His eyebrows arched when he looked around. Smelling the air unable to sense his presence.
It was at that moment that one of the other leaders informed him of his dismembered body in one of the alleys of Transylvania. One of the elves mentioning they could smell his blood lingering in the air. This caused Lannister’s face to darken. His jaw twitched. He wouldn’t say it out loud but he knew without their leader the skinwalkers would go mad. He was trying to contain the blood spilled. Something he knew would be impossible now.
His hand ran over his jaw as he thought of what their next move would be. It wasn’t until his hand passed his nose that he caught her scent. Lelani. He thought to himself smelling the air once more.
Sweet honey, Hamari rose, creme, and cocoa butter.
Only one woman in the world held a scent like that. She was here on earth realm. One last long sniff and he caught the rough scent of wet dog. Gritting his teeth sawing his fangs down slightly. Of course, she brought the mutts with her. No matter, he knew exactly how to handle them.
“The matter of the skinwalker will be dealt with soon enough. For now, we have unwanted guests lurking through our town. It’s time for a hunt. Find them, handle them, even if you have to burn houses and kill in the streets. I want them dead, and I want my bride brought to me. Now GO!”
You heard the mixed growls from the different creatures before they broke off and scattered into the darkness.
Lelani and the rest of them had been watching the meeting the whole time. Her stomach churning. She would never be his bride. Before they could scatter off she stood walking past the men with her. “We need to head back to Nakuru now. It’s time to do some recruiting of our own.”
