Chapter 12
Raphael was probably right, I did get scared!
" Let's do something first. You hear the sound of that Goldsmith hitting something over? " He ask pointing in a certain direction.
" Ehmm...excuse me, Raphael! We are in the woods and there aren't any Goldsmith around. So what are you talking about? " I twitched my face in confusion.
" Listen..." He started walking up to stand in front of me and resting his two palms on my shoulders.
" Werewolves are creatures with a strong senses. I mean our sense organs are ten times stronger than that of humans especially our sense of smell and hearing. You should be able to distinct the odor of one person to another as everyone has his own distinct smell. A time will come when you will need to trace or look for someone and that's when you need this the most. Also, you need to train your ears to detect the smallest sound; the sound of a walking insect close by without hearing it first. Since it is your first time, you will need to concentrate so hard to be able to filter the sounds you don't have need of and pick only the ones you are interested in. I made mention of a Goldsmith who works with a hammer therefore making a whole lot of sound. What if I had made mention of that spider spider on that tree weaving his webs? Focus girl! " With that, he gave me room to put all I just heard I to practice.
As I leaned forward my head forward and moved my head to face swing slowly, I remembered everything starts from the mind. I first shut my mind from every distraction and sound around, them my projected my thoughts to the suppose noise from a Goldsmith who was miles away from where we stood. As my ears paid attention to every slight sound, I began to hear different sounds fill my head at once and it was crazy. I could hear the heart beats of the werewolves around me loudly, I could hear the sound of leaves dropping in the river, I could hear the sound of ants building their hill, I could hear the heartbeats of birds and even the movement of the thinnest creature in the wood. It was quite interesting but these were not the sounds I was looking for. Like a man in a train, my hearing travelled miles, I could hear the villagers and every bit of sound until I got to the Goldsmith and a big smile formed on my face.
" She got it!" Zoe exclaimed excitedly.
" That was quite easy!" I bragged giving Zoe an high five.
" Nicely done. Did you notice that the Goldsmith was eating a piece of roasted pork?" Raphael asked with the same serious look like he had earlier.
" I will try". And just like I focused my mind on my hearing, as I also positioned my mind to distinguish one smell from the other. I could smell it; the roasted pork! I was so excited as I jumped excitedly.
" Good" Raphael remarked! Now, we move to training as a human. You need to learn self defense first before thinking of fighting others. Every Alpha that had ever lived were known for their great fighting skills and you won't be an exception. Get prepared!"
' Beating the air with a stick! Really was the the best way to teach someone self defense? All the hearing and smelling has really drained me. I wish there was food for me to eat.' I murmured to myself as the other three left me on my own.
Suddenly, I heard the sound of someone run around me faster than what I could imagine. I paused to try to listen for anything. The heartbeat of this creature I heard was different, every species as I had discovered minutes ago had the different way the heart beats, this one was new to me.
" Elsa, act normal. Don't try to shift or anything! There is a werewolf watching you, probably sent by Adrian to confirm if the rumor of your existence was real." I could hear Raphael's voice so close to my ears that I thought he was nearby but I couldn't see him. I looked round over and over again to see either Raphael or the supposed weredragon, but I saw none.
Then it occurred to me that he was speaking through the mind, I just had that figured out. There were times when I was little, I could hear the thoughts of some people but I thought it was a fragment of my imaginations. Apparently, I was correct. I thought to give it a trial, to reply him but he didn't reply back. It worked! I was excited but remained still playing around as a teenage girl would.
Later that evening, I wasn't sure of Raphael got my message that I was trying to communicate, so I asked him. " I really can't hear your thoughts as a Alpha unless you want me to." He replied playing with a stick we used in setting up a fire.
" Anything you wanna do, just be particular about it. Your power is in your mind. " Zaria added.
Zoe who had yawned almost four times now, stood of where he was sitting and came to rest his head on my legs. He looked so cute as he slept, he hair was quite soft as my hands ran through it.
" Why do you think the weredragons are spying on us? I asked suddenly remembering this afternoon.
" It means that for now you are safe but very soon, the werewolves would come to test the level of your strength. You need to be ready on time, for if you can't defend yourself, them you die without anyone even noticing you are gone." Couldn't Raphael had said this any nicer, so much fear gripped me.

AT ADRIAN'S PALACE.
" I saw the girl, your highness and she is nothing close to an ordinary werewolf talk more of an Alpha." The weredragon who was kneeling down in front of Adrian said. He was the one sent to spy on Elsa by Adrian.
" Looks are very deceiving my young lad. If what I hear about Gwa choosing her is true, then there is so much in her than you or I can ever imagine. Or she needs in proper guidance and a lot of pushing to bring out the strength in her." He said pacing round his throne deep in thoughts.
" The werewolves can never be conquered, we would rise again and put you were you belong, in hell." One of the werewolves who was captured and tied to a pole where Adrian could enjoy the torture that was being inflicted him bodly said.
" Cut the tongue of that dog." Adrian commanded and immediately one of his warriors forced the tongue of the werewolf out and cut it off with his claws. Blood and scream filled the room while Adrian asked to wash his hands with the blood of the weredragon.
" Continue to keep an eye on that girl, I don't want to be caught unaware." Adrian commanded the spy he sent earlier.
" Father, I'm bored" His daughter, Fiona walked in.
" Quite stressing me young lady and go and look for something to keep you busy." Adrian said obviously disgusted.
" If only my pet would agree to spend time with me. But for the record, I am not giving up on his broad shoulders and big monster down there." She said thoughtfully.
" We have more important issues at hand than fleeting with a disgusting werewolf. Even if Sham and I are working together, they would all look the same to me, bloody dogs." He hissed.
" I have a task for you. Go to the sorcerer and tell him to Mask you in such a way that neither Raphael nor anybody will be able to detect your true nature. You are to befriend that girl and find out everything you can about her. I don't want to trust such delicate job to fools. You are my daughter and I trust you what you're capable of doing, use your slyness well and make me proud. That girl must go down as well as does werewolves." He smiled.
" I just hope that Raphael is super cute as they say is, if not I am not interested." She said rolling her eyes.
" Looks like your prority changed after several weeks of not doing anything, you,'ve become so lazy and all concerned about the Fate of your people. do you want to become dust before the werewolves? Don't you want to have them crawling and begging at your feet? Don't you want to play around with their men? Get prepared and do what I asked you to do now! " He commanded with his eyes blazing fire.
For the fearless Fiona, she sure got scared but regained her composure and went ahead to do what her father instructed her to do, although not without complaints and murmurings.
