Chapter 17

" The dragon king trust me and he is gradually letting me in on some secrets about our past. Did you know that the weredragons and the werewolves were living in peace? did you know what brought about the hatred between the two creatures? Did you know there was a time the were dragon and werewolf mixed bloods and give birth to a powerful child? Never was it meant for a weredragon and werewolf to produce a child, it would be the most powerful creature that ever worked the earth. Maybe if I could make a weredragon carry my seed, then we would produce a powerful child whose power we will use to conquer the weredragons. It only happened once and it was warned that it should never happen again. All I think about each passing day is how to liberate my people. I put myself in harm's way everyday knowing well that Adrain could wake up one day and decide to kill me. Who would save me then? Who will warm me on my impeding doom? The good news is I am way ahead of every Alpha that ever lived because I was bold enough to go into the den of the devil himself and dine with him. " He hollared.

Sham sounded so convincing that many actually starting falling for his speech. Zaruch saw sense in what Sham was saying but mainly thinking of the fact that the attention of the park would move from him to Sham made him want to just do away with this traitor.

" Shut up your lying lips! This is all a ploy to get the trust of everyone." Adrain howled.

Sham smiled seeing the fear behind those words." You know I speak the truth, I have no intention of battling over the Alpha position with you, I just want us and our younger generations to live in a peaceful word where weredragons would cease to exist." He said calmly as she watched everyone's shoulders drop in response to his words. They could see sense in all he was saying and they were beginning to trust him.

" The good news is the daughter of the King of the weredragon, Fiona is head over hills for me. I hear it is dangerous birthing such child and the chance a child could come out of such union is zero. I am willing to take the rest even if it would mean my death. Let's wipe this blood sucking creature off the earth and fill the world with our peace and calmness. " He said loudly with so much energy and authority. A soothsayer wasn't needed to tell Sham that he had won the heart of almost all the weredragons. " I have to return now so that Adrain doesn't get suspicious but I will return. Take this time and think of all I have said and make ready to run for now. We will attack some other time of you agree to join me. " And like a flash of lightning, he kept away in joy.

Sneaking back inside his room, he laid on the bed happy with the outcome of the meeting he just bad with his kin. He had all that was needed to become Alpha and not that weakling called Zaruch. He looked at the places where he had bruises earlier and he was glad that they were gradually healing before Adrain would walk in. His mind went back to his dream of becoming an Alpha. He had been dreaming of this day for long and he could smell it wasn't far away after all. 'He had all that was needed to make the best Alpha ever; strength, courage, and smart thinkings. What else was needed? ' He asked himself now standing in front of the mirror observing his physique. He thought of wooing Fiona and trying the ancient story with her. It could lead to her death if it works but the result was what matters. Although the chances of a weredragon getting pregnant for a werewolf was slim, he had to get it a try. Since Fiona is royalty, it makes it even better as her powers are ten times more than a regular werewolf.

" Time to woo a lady." He said as he admired himself with a smirk.

Suddenly, the door flung open and Adrian walked in.

" What brings you here?" He asked suprised to see Adrain I'm his room unexpectedly.

" Why did you tell the guards to not let anyone in? " He asked with a raised brow.

" O, I decided to give the pretty girls of this land a try, so I was busy. " He winked adjusting his clothes.

" I see. Then why do you have some injuries on your face?" Adrain asked as be could see some wound which were healing already.

" Ah, things got a little rough between me and the hottie. We decided to take it down all rough. " He replied with a smile and a small smirk on his lips. .

This was interesting to Adrain as he couldn't help laughing. " I like it rough!" He said with a hoarse voice as his laughter increased.

" I'm happy to know you are finally getting the definition of real enjoyment and not the boring thing you werewolves do." He said excitedly.

" One day, we would try something crazier. Two of us, on the same bed with three women. I watch you drill the ladies while I get turned on to go several rounds on them. ". He smirked as he laughed even harder. Sham couldn't imagine such nonsense as he forced himself to smile while deep down that was the most disgusting thing he had ever heard. 'Everything about the weredragons was irritating and so sinful. ' He thought as the sound of Adrian's laughter echoed in the air.

" Have some rest now, you have really made use of your energy. " He winked before sliding out.

" Keep an eye on Sham, monitor his every movement." He whispered to the guards at the door as he straightened up. " Sham must think me stupid to believe his story hook line and sinker. " He thought aloud as he thought of the best time to attack the weredragons.

" Put out the fire and hide." Raphael whispered to the rest as they saw a bunch of bandit hunters passing with some humans in cage.

" Why are we hiding?" Zoe asked wondering how the humans business affected us.

" The bandit catch not only wanted humans but also weredragons and werewolves. Some of them are not ordinary, they are great sorcerers who use their power to detect anyone or anything. What I mean is, no matter how much you try to hide your true nature, they had the ability to detect. That's why they're services are sought for both far and wide. " Raphael responded.

Anna could only think of herself that moment, if this bandit hunters in any way sighted her, then she was done for as she was certain they would remove the mask she was wearing and expose her. " But why were the others hiding?" She asked herself as realization dawned on her that now was the best time to get them to open up to her.

" Why are we then hiding since we are humans? " She still up raising her voice slightly.

" We are hiding because those people have a portrait of me." Raphael said pointing to the poster hung on the cart of the bandit hunters.

" O my God. Who could have sent them?" I asked worried.

" Sham or Adrain." Zaria murmured.

Anna was shocked to hear the name of those two but why would either of them so that knowing fully well that she was in the field. This could ruin everything for her and she thought of using the parrot for the first time to send a message to her dad. 

" They are gone." Zoe announced.

" We have to be careful henceforth, this could slow us down as they could be back anytime from now. Let's go." He commanded.

They continued moving with no one actually knowing where Raphael was taking them too.

" Let's camp here for the night." Raphael Announced as they laid to sleep.

They built a fire and laid some blankets on the ground as they laid to sleep.

" Where exactly are we going?" I asked Raphael when everyone else was fast asleep.

" Every Alpha that had ever rule, had their coronation in the cave of ALOW. It is a cave that contain so much power that only the Alpha could harness. Before the next full moon, we have to be there to perform the ceremony. That simply means you need to be ready on time, much earlier than either of us bargained. Very few knows about the cave and many had died trying hard to leave it that way." Raphael explained calmly.

" The greatest power any Alpha can ever have, is a good heart. Temptations will come your way but you must overcome them all. The cave gives one test to those who seeks it... "
