Chapter 58: Fed Curiosity

"You can't do this, Na im!" She said with a low voice as the pain she was feeling got registered into her brain, as if she couldn t believe what was happening right now in her life. He tried to walk away when she spoke again, anger laced on her tone. "What do you think will happen if your father finds out about your marriage with the farmer s daughter that doesn't even have a family member alive?!"
He sharply turned and smirked at her, "Are you threatening me?" Na im shrugged his shoulders and tilted his head a bit, "It s easy, I think. It might be hard for her for some time but she d overcome it. Because I'm not sure whether you know that even he, Alan Gubro himself cannot divorce my wife until I choose to do so. And for our marriage, I guess it s canceled from here, it s left to you to make the cancellation official or chain your life in this so called marriage."
She watched him leave, with no air of regret lingering around, only that of anger and how he had been trying so hard to show her that he hated her and didn t want her to be his wife but Nafisa was so adamant to accept that. She slumped on the chair she had just stood up from and her tears came in showers. What would she do now? What was happening now?
Did she have to lean onto his brother for her to be able to get Na im as a husband? Because even now, Nafisa wasn t wiling to give up. Because she had already had it in mind that Na im would love her, all it took was for her to struggle to be his wife and she was willing to do that. And like Sadeeq had proclaimed, she was sure he would be able to help her.
She brought out her phone and began to contemplate on whether to or not to call Captain Bolori as pain clouded her eyes and it was becoming so hard for her to see amidst the downpour of her eyes. She didn't want to make the wrong decision, she wanted to make sure that whatever she did was the right choice and she wouldn t hurt Na im along the process, even though that she knew if Sadeeq got involved, one way or the other, Na im would have to be hurt.
'I can just warn him to be careful, she mused to herself. But she was still not convinced to call Sadeeq even though she knew this was the kind of information he would kill to have. Na im married to some random girl for almost a year now and nobody knew?! And if she could tell him now so he can come and see her himself, a proof that he had just gotten intimate with her.
?
Captain Bolori wandered around the barrack as he thought about what he would do now that security was increased and two attacks had happened but he wouldn t be able to get them the girls they wanted. He heard someone crying from the dungeon and Sadeeq realized how long it had been since he last went there. Maybe on his way, he would think about a clever idea of how to go about this and he walked silently.
On arriving, he found Jafar punishing a young lad that looked about the same age with Jafar and Sadeeq smiled, this was getting interesting. He didn t have to ask for him to know that it was Na im that asked him to do that, that had locked the innocent guy. "What s going on here?" He asked and Jafar immediately saluted him.
"I'm making a punishment, Sir."
"Okay, leave him to me, I'll take care of it from here." Jafar was hesitant at first but he would dare not do what the Captain had asked him unless he wanted to be punished himself. And he knew how bad Captain Bolori could be, so he just saluted him again and walked out of the dungeon, sending a message to Hafiz immediately after he left.
Sadeeq stared at the guy that looked halfway to his death and he smiled. "What s your name, lad?" He asked with a soft grin that would make him seem like the good guy.
He looked up at him slightly and took his eyes off, even though he knew all the soldiers here were so heartless that killing him would be the most wanted thing this man would do, but he just didn t have the energy to say a word.
"Do you need some water? Food? You can tell me whatever it is you want, I'd ask them to bring it to you." He stared at him as he contemplated on whether or not to trust him and Sadeeq flashed him one of his chivalrous smiles that made him get whatever he wanted from the people he wanted.
"I need water, please." Aminu said with a low voice and it took only a few minutes for the water to be brought to him and he gulped the down bottle down in a matter of few minutes. "Aren t you going to punish me like they do?" He asked laboriously and Sadeeq found a space to sit while he shook his head.
"No, why will I do that? It s not like you ve done anything to me, your problem is with my brother but I can beg him to forgive you."
Aminu stared at him longer than a minute until he saw the resemblance between them, "Are you the second prince?" He asked with a trembling voice and Sadeeq grinned before he nodded his head at him. Things tend to become easier for him whenever people found out about who he was.
"Yes, I am. And I'm willing to help you get out of this dungeon. But you have to tell me what you ve done to my brother to have him angered to the point of punishing you in a dungeon. I know he has a good heart, you must ve done something terrible."
Aminu began to cry as he shook his head, "Please get me out of here, I can t live any longer here. They re going to kill me. I agree that I made a mistake, but it s not like I've successfully raped her, I tried to but he was there even before I touched an important part of her body. I beg for his mercy, please." He was crying so hard and one would be able to know how much he had suffered in the dungeon.
Sadeeq gave a lopsided grin, it turned out that he had guessed correctly. Whatever this was, it was connected to that Maryam of a girl and he would be damned if this time he didn t find out where she was and what the hell it was Na im was hiding as though it were his life. He was about to speak when a call came into his phone and when he saw that it was Nafisa, he grinned. Because from all indications, the gods have decided to bless him today. Because he knew whatever made Dr Nafisa called him wasn t something he would trade, even for the story this lad had to offer, because this lad would be in dungeon for as long as Na im wanted.
"Hold on, I'll be back, got to answer this call." He didn t wait for the guy to answer him when he walked out of the dungeon and slid the phone on his left ear, "To what do I owe you this call, Dr?" His grin was prominent and he knew wherever she was, she must have been grinning by now.
"Listen, Sadeeq, I don t have time to waste with you. I've got some information and it s about the girl you ve asked me last time. But you have to promise me something," he cut her off even before she was done with what she was saying and she hated him even more for always being right with whatever he said.
"You want to be married to Na im at all cost and he shouldn t know that you re the one that sold his little secret to me? No problem."
Nafisa sighed and silently wished that she wasn t about to make the greatest mistake of her life, "Her name is Maryam Bukar Ibrahim like you ve said. And she s his wife." Sadeeq nearly lost his phone and had to quickly hold it to his ear because it was something he had never imagined to hear.
"You can't be serious, Nafisa. Na im could do all sort of useless things but he can never get married without Alan Gubro s knowledge. Tell me, what is the truth? I need something solid so that I can secure your marriage with him."
Nafisa chuckled bitterly, if only he knew. She wished she was lying too, that it wasn t the truth Na im was married to someone before her and he said it to her face that she was the one he loved. "You have to listen to all I'll say as it pains a lot for me to keep on repeating the same thing. Maryam is his wife, she has been for almost a year now. Her father begged him to marry her the day Magumeri was raided and she has also lost her sister that day. He has been hiding her with all his life because he doesn t want anyone to know about her, I guess he planned to divorce her but it turns out he has fallen in love with her." Sadeeq was about to interrupt her when she cut him off and continued, she wanted to tell him everything that she knew at once, without him giving him some room to regret.
"He fell in love with her and yesterday, he got intimate with her to the point that she had received a few stitches here at the hospital. And the ring you spoke about, I've seen it on her finger and he said she s the one that s most befitted for the Queen s role and threatened me that if I reveal his marriage to anyone, he would have to claim it with everything he has."
he wiped at her tears, even though she knew that she might not likely win this battle, but she knew that even if she was going to give up on Na im, she wouldn t have to do that easily. She had to fight to the best of her ability. "Can you still make him marry me? I don t care about all those royal positions, Sadeeq. I just want him."
Sadeeq sighed, and even though he was happy to get something as gigantic as this, it was too much of an information to digest at once. "Where does he hide her now?"
She shook her head as though he was there and wiped at her tears, making sure no one saw her tears as she walked back to her office. "I don t know, but maybe a day of stalking him would bring everything out. But don't hurt the girl, Bolori."
