Chapter 78 Royal Baby

Na'im had to find a spot beside the road and parked his car, because he knew, if he kept driving at the situation he was, he might even have another accident without knowing. He didn't know why he got so emotional, but tears were already brimming in his eyes as he tried to clear his voice before he spoke, "Are you sure about this, Hoor? Please don't get me so excited, you might be wrong, the doctor too, anything...something might happen to say it was a wrong thought."
She heard the emotions flying in his voice and chuckled, but he heard her sat down, she was a bit calmer now, "You have to trust me on this, Na'im. I'm pregnant, he said we're six weeks along. How good does that sound? The baby isn't moving yet, but I could already feel its life inside me." She was the one being overly emotional now but she couldn't help it. There were thousands of emotions that ran through her mind and she wanted to see him first before she could lay out whatever her heart was going through.
"Where are you? I'll be there right now, Hoor. I...I need you for me to be able to assimilate this news. Ya Allah," he let his words trailed off because of how he was choking on his words, he didn't even know what he was thinking. "Alhamdulilah, tell me please, where's the location?"
"I don't know," she sounded disappointed at herself. "But I've heard Saima calling Mammi and we're heading to Shehuri after we're done with the doctor, let's meet there." Na'im heard as someone, probably a nurse, spoke to her and she briskly said her goodbye before she ended the call while he stood there, smiling with tears rolling down his cheeks. Tears of joy, of happiness and even before the baby graced the world, Na'im could start feeling what Sadeeq felt for his daughter, albeit born out of wedlock. But the joy of fatherhood was so real that no one would even understand. Except for the fathers.
He drove directly back to the palace and even though he knew Hafiz had been waiting for him at the barrack, he just sent him a text that he wouldn't be able to come at this moment and turned the phone off because he didn't want the squadron commander to start calling him and he wouldn't have the chance to meet with her. He saw a car already parked in front of Mammi's chamber and he briskly prayed for it to be the one that brought them back home.
He rushed into the chamber and ignored the greetings he was getting from the maids and the royal guards and he immediately walked to Mammi's personal living room. "Mammi, where's she?" He asked, the wide grin on both their faces couldn't be hidden but she stared at him with an aloof expression.
"When did you turn this way, Na'im? I thought we've agreed that you won't see her until the day of the luncheon?" She was grinning at him, even though she wanted her words to sound a bit tough, but she couldn't.
Na'im gave her his best puppy eyes, she couldn't imagine how eager he was to see her, even though it seemed to him that keeping him on the edge gave the woman joy. "Please, Mammi, let's talk about that later. Please?"
Mammi sighed before she shook her head and simply pointed at the room they were in. Na'im didn't even wait for her to pull her hand back when he ran towards the room and she smiled lovingly at him. He pushed the door open and found them seated on the bed as they ate something from the same plate, oh wow, it seemed like Maryam was really friends with Saima.
"Yarima..." Saima began as she stood up but his eyes weren't even on her, "Oh oh, I think I have to save my eyes this one time." She rushed out of the room and Na'im waited until she closed the door before he ran to Maryam and pulled her up into a hug. He was swirling her on top of the air and she was giggling, happily wrapping her hands around his neck.
"The doctor said I should be careful," it only took those words to have him gently placing her down on the floor while he cupped her face in his hands. "You seem shocked," she said as she chuckled and he nodded his head before he pulled her into a proper hug, sighing in satisfaction when he felt her body against his as she wrapped her hands around his waist.
"I don't know what to say, Hoor," he confessed, resting his head on her shoulder and she chuckled at him, bringing her even closer to his body. "We're having a baby, I can't believe this. Thank you, Hoor. I love you."
Seeing the kind of situation he was in, Maryam gently pulled him to the bed and he sat down while he sat beside her, "Calm down a bit, Captain. You seem so shocked to even know what to say." He chuckled at how she had known how he was exactly feeling and nodded his head. He was so exhilarated to even know what to say to her. It felt so unreal and surreal at the same time.
He was going to be a father, what a strange news to be heard by him. Something worth celebrating, but he didn't even know who he was going to tell. She brought out the result from under the pillow where she had kept it, ready for him to come so she would show him and handed the paper to him. Na'im had read the paper countless times until he became so emotional and his eyes began to water.
"Oh my god, a soldier shouldn't cry, Na'im." She said with a low voice and he noticed she was about to cry too. He gently pulled her to his body and hugged her before he lovingly placed his hand on her still flat stomach.
"But that soldier is going to be a father, Hoor. He's so emotional, like his pregnant wife." She chuckled at that and placed her hand on his large one that was on her stomach.
"Thank you for this baby, Noory, you have no idea how happy I am. But at the same time, I'm feeling so shy that I can't even look Mammi in the eyes." He laughed at that and she scrunched up her face which made him laugh even more.
He brought her face closer to his, "You deserve a gift, don't you think?" His eyes were directly into hers when he said that and she took her time, stared slightly at his inviting lips before she greedily nodded her head at him.
"Yes, but it shouldn't lead to anything. Just plain and innocent gift, deal?" He laughed, and before he said his next words, Maryam had already placed her lips on top of his and he was kissing her as softly as this news had turned his heart. He kissed her with a love so soft and tender that he knew would be of their child. He was so happy that he made sure he kissed those emotions he felt into her body and she responded in the same way, which turned him on but he knew he would never act up to what his body was demanding.
She broke their kiss to take a breathe, "We should stop here, the baby will be frightened." He knew she would use this baby as an excuse for as long as the baby was in her stomach. He hugged her again and they just sat there, their bodies clinging to each other and they thought about the change that was going to happen into their lives, a much welcome change. Something they both loved and were so excited for.
If he was going to be a bit truthful, he would say that her reaction to having this baby had baffled him because he had never imagined that she would sound as excited as she did. He thought she would be crying and asking him to take off the baby, that she didn't want it, but Na'im was elated by her reaction and he prayed to Allah to bless his baby girl.
?
Na'im used the barrack as an excuse and didn't come to the royal luncheon until late in the evening, when he was sure that most of the guests that were invited had left and he was about to walk to his chamber when messages began pouring into his phone and he stopped, chuckling at how it seemed everyone thought to send him a message at the same time.
What? It was his bunch of ex-fiancées and they all sent the same message that made Na'im wondered if they didn't have a WhatsApp group or something that they communicated. They all were wishing him a happy married life and were so disappointed it wasn't one of them, not even Nafisa that got to have a second chance with him. And they sincerely wished that he wasn't going to regret his choice of wife; which if they didn't add that, Na'im would have thought that their phones were forcefully taken from them to just send this message.
He replied them all with the same 'Ameen. Thank you, but I love my wife' message which he was sure would rile them up but they started it first, didn't they? He hated how he might have to everyday defend Maryam from strikers about her family background and everything she was, just because she had married him and he was a prince, so they all thought she didn't deserve him.
He walked into his chamber, it was already getting dark and when he entered, he found Maryam seated on the dining table with Saima in the kitchen as they cooked and Maryam was arranging the table for them. When she heard him walked inside with the military uniform that always made her insides churn, she shot him a grin and walked towards him, taking him into a welcoming embrace.
"You seem so tired, Captain." She was about to pull away so she could see him at arm's length when Na'im pulled her back to his body and he hugged her ever so warmly, placing his head on her shoulder.
"I'm glad you're back, Hoor. It feels good seeing you here, moving around in my chamber when I thought I was going to sleep alone again tonight.
She chuckled at that and held him softly, "Mammi said we should go back when we're done having the dinner. I'm not staying here for the night."
He pulled her at an arms length and stared at her glowing face. Whatever skin therapy she had gone through was a good one, the henna on both her hands and legs were so amazing he wanted to keep on holding onto her. He knew she had always looked beautiful, but this time, she looked so exquisite that he would love to have a portrait of her hanged in his living room.
"You're looking extraordinarily beautiful, tonight. And...you seem so happy." She grinned beautifully at that and it made his heart moved ever so softly. "And I love you, so much more than you could ever imagine."
She grinned again and her eyes lifted in a surprised manner, "I forgot I made a promise to tell you that I love you everyday. Here is yours for today," she said softly, fixing her eyes into his. "I love you, Captain." She lifted the edge of her feet and lightly kissed his lips, smiling at him. "It will be like this, each and every day of our lives, inshallah."
"That's enough, by Allah I'm so tired of being around the two of you." Saima whined as she stomped her feet on the floor and both Na'im and Maryam laughed at the expression she had on her face.
Na'im put his arm around Maryam's shoulder as they walked further into the living room and he gave Saima a quick hug.
