Chapter 61 The Princes' Help

"I only got to find Maryam for him and he begged me to get married to her. She s not like every other person, as you can see, her eyes have two different colors and she s autistic, which is why her father was so worried about how she would live even though he didn t know who I was at the time. Hafiz and my two other subordinates witnessed the marriage before he died and we buried him." He slightly turned to Maryam and found out that her eyes were fixed on the floor and she was roughly squeezing his hand as her whole body trembled, probably because there were too much eyes on her and she wouldn t be able to keep up.
"I know I've done an unforgivable sin to you for not telling you, but I know you d never have agreed to this marriage, Your Majesty. It was hard having to hide her from everyone in this world, but then Sadeeq had his ways of finding out everything that concerns me, but maybe it s for the best. I'm sorry for doing this all along without your knowledge, I know I might ve thought that I would divorce her when she s 18 years old because I couldn t stay married to someone you know nothing about...
"But I can t do that anymore. I'm willing to stay with her until my last breath and sacrifice all it takes to keep her within my reach. She s the only person that matters in my life, Alan Gubro. She makes me happy, she makes me laugh and I'm at my peaceful self when she s with me. Please don't hurt her, please join me in loving her, Abba." It seemed like his words had shook everyone in the living room along with Maryam herself, she had heard everything he had said with a straight heart that yearned for him, but the word he had used had never been shared between them and she stopped right in tracks.
"What are you trying to tell me, Yarima?" Alan Gubro asked with a voice that was clouded with something Na im had never heard in his life.
"I love her, Abba. I don t know what you plan to do about this but I love her with everything I've got in me, with all of my heart and soul. You can punish me by doing anything, I can get married to three wives at the same time if that will make you let me keep her, but please, don t separate her from me, please, Abba." He was aware of the look in his father s eyes, he had never begged him like today. There had never been a reason to, but not even when he asked him to resign from his army position did Na im begged him like this or sounded as desperate as he did now.
Alan Gubro stood up and he said, "Bring her along."
Sadeeq had lounged to hold her when Na im quickly pulled out the gun on Sadeeq s waist and aimed it at him, "Touch even a hair on her body, and I'll make sure you breathe no more, Bolori." His words dripped with venom and when Sadeeq looked into his eyes, he knew that Na im meant every word he had uttered and pulled his hand away from her reach.
...
Alan Gubro turned and stared at how Na im had pointed a gun towards Sadeeq and from his eyes, he knew that if he did what he had just prohibited him from doing, nothing could stop Na im from pulling the trigger. He thought all that he had said was for a show, but right now, what he was seeing was enough to tell him that Na im meant everything he said. He loved this girl and even he himself had to suffer before he would be able to separate him from her.
"What do you think you re doing, Na im? Place the gun down and give him the girl." His eyes were brimming with anger and pain when Na im looked up at him, "She s my wife, Abba. I can t have a man touch her." Woah! He thought. Where and when did Na im grew up so much to say this to his face and with the hardness and possessiveness of a man towards his wife?
"Ladi, bring the girl with you then." Alan Gubro had said and walked out of the chamber, his royal guards following him.
Na im watched as Ladi walked towards Maryam that quickly held his hand even tighter as fear gripped every corner of her soul. He knew of how terrified she was of people she didn t know and right now, Na im wished he hadn t allowed Bilkisu to go home, she would ve been here with her and he would have made sure she went with her.
The gun was still pointed at Sadeeq which gave no room for him to move when Ladi crouched down to Maryam s level, "Let s go, Maryam." She had said with a soft voice and Na im knew if she was in Ladi s hands, whom had taken care of him since that painful night with which he couldn t remember anything from, then certainly; Maryam would be safe in her hands too.
Maryam turned to him and no matter how she wanted to do what he had said, not to let her tears away, she did. She was crying when she looked into his eyes as she began to shake her head, "I don t want to follow them, are they going to kill me?" She asked with a trembling voice and Na im managed to stare at her with a soft smile.
"No, Ladi is going to take care of you. Alan Gubro won t hurt you, okay? Just follow her and do whatever they ask you to." Reluctantly, Maryam stood to her feet, but when Ladi reached out to take her hands, she stumbled and nearly fell when he held her softly. "You can t touch her, Ladi. Just say what you want her to do and she will do it. She might not respond with words, but that doesn t mean she wouldn t do what she s asked of." Ladi nodded her head and when Maryam looked into her eyes, she saw how she flinched with fear for her eyes.
"Let s go, Maryam." She nodded her head, still wary of whatever she did because she was in pain and fear altogether.
"Will you come?" Maryam asked with a voice that was laced with sheer agony and Na im nodded his head, trying all he could to stop himself.
"I will, don t forget about everything I've said to you." He watched as she wordlessly followed Ladi out of the chamber and Na im wondered how she would be able to live out there without him by her side. And to say that she was already weak and sick was what pained him the most.
Without a second though, Na im turned to Sadeeq that was smirking at him and in an instant, he had banged his head with the tip of the gun and Sadeeq laid there unconscious. Hafiz gasped, but he knew he had done him lightly, considering the weight of what he had done to him. "Guards!" He roared out of anger and the pain that was threatening to take his life. When they rushed inside hearing his voice, "Get this garbage out of my sight!" He threw the gun on Sadeeq s body and walked to his room.
He knew Hafiz wanted to speak to him but Na im wasn t ready to listen to anyone and for the first time, he would rebel against his father s words. He didn t know where they had taken her now but he knew he would certainly find out and whatever the hell was going to happen should, because there was no way he was going to take this lightly. He slammed the door as hard as he could behind his back before he slid on the floor and rested his head on his brought up knees.
"Take things easy on yourself, Na im. Everything is going to work out just fine, okay? Don t be hard on yourself, please." Hafiz said in a soft tone but Na im knew the situation he was in now, only the soft and loving hands of Maryam would be able to offer him comfort. How she would look at him with a sly smile before she asked if he needed the comfort hug and how much he would ve used a comfort hug today.
Na im wanted to cry but he didn t know what would let his tears out. He knew his heart was in so much agony that he would make a use of some tears, but he didn t know what else to feel for him to shed more tears. He knew Alan Gubro was nice enough not to hurt her, but he might do something that would scare her heart a bit. Na im thought of a way and he found it.
But he wasn t going to do anything roughly until he was sure he had calmed down. First, he was going to take care of Sadeeq and show him who was elder between them. The fact that he had played ignorant wasn't because he didn t know one of the grievous sins he had been hiding himself. Funny, how in human nature one would make a sin griever than that of the other but he would be so quick at exposing the other s sins as if he didn t also have a skeleton in his own wardrobe.
He heard someone banging at the front door of his apartment and Na im quickly got to his feet. Whoever had the guts to do that to him just when he had been wretched by his father didn't know what was going to happen to his or her life. He unlocked the door and stood there, staring at the angry face of Ya Gumsu, oh, there she was.
"To what do I owe you this visit, Ya Gumsu?" He clearly knew that she was the one that weave everything and got it connected with Alan Gubro, because Sadeeq wouldn t have had the nerves to go to The King directly without being insinuated by his mother.
"What the hell was that? How dare you knock my son down because of some lowly girl you call a wife?!" She was yelling at the pitch of her voice and even though Na im was angered at how lowly she had described Maryam, he knew he wouldn t let her go free out of this. He would have to say things that would instill fear in her mind and this would be the beginning of his revenge towards Captain Bolori.
She was staring at him unbelievably and wondered how the hell was it that Na im got the nerves to say this to her. "What did you just call me, Yarima?"
