Welcome
Alcina walks at her leisure towards the highway.
Her idea is to hitchhike to Alpha King Enrick's Midnight Moon pack. That's where her plan will begin. Now that she has temporarily lost her powers and is practically just human, she will have to make some adjustments to her original idea. She sniffs her body and notices that her witch scent is gone. Perfect too. It couldn't get any better, now she can't be recognized by the werewolves.
When she reaches the highway, she sits down and waits on a stone. It is still early in the morning, there is a watery sun in the sky. With a few strokes, she blows her black locks out and lifts her face into the air, taking a deep fresh breath to relax. Under all circumstances, she must regain her normal posture to avoid arousing the werewolves’ suspicion. She wipes the heavy make-up off her face with a damp cloth and applies some moisturizer. When she looks in the small mirror of her toiletry bag, there is nothing to tell that she is a witch.
With the adjusted plan now in mind, her mood lights up. She smiles, delighted that the long wait is finally being rewarded. All the bitterness about Andre's decision and the loss of her abilities is now gone. She has resigned herself to the new situation. Changing circumstances requires adapted measures. Alcina knows she has been patient since nothing will hold her back. While she is engrossed in her musings, an expensive car passes by at high speed. But a few meters further on, the driver brakes and reverses. "Pretty lady, are you hitchhiking?" asks a white blond guy with brown eyes staring through the window.
Alcina gets up and walks with swinging hips to the vehicle.
“Yes, I would like a lift. But I haven't decided on my destination yet," she explains, pursing her lips seductively. The man smiles, totally taken by her beauty. “Are you looking for a job, a place to stay or both? For such a beautiful woman, that can't be a big problem. Do you have any preferences?”
Alcina knows she has already gained ground with the man and laughs softly. “I need a roof over my head, more to think about how I want to organize my life further. Having a job is for later concern”, she replies. “Well, want to give it a try in my pack? I sense you're a supernatural but can't figure out what species you belong to yet."
Before answering, Alcina runs back to get her backpack.
The man opens the door of the passenger’s seat for her. She gets in and only then notices that the man at her side is a werewolf. “Well, I'm just human but know a lot about werewolves. My friend from high school was a werewolf, we shared a dorm room for years. Maybe that's why you get an idea that I'm a supernatural," she says confidently. The man buys her story, switches the car and drives on.
“By the way, I'm Clark, the Gamma of the Midnight Moon pack. I'm on my way to the pack. If you want to, you can stay with us for a few days before traveling further,” he offers. "I can talk to the Alpha, I'm sure he has no problem with it." Alcina laughs in her hand, she is now right on track. Luck seems to be on her side, not everyone meets the Gamma of a pack every day. And he spontaneously offers to house her, that’s a lot. She decides not to accept too eagerly.
She looks at the Gamma thoughtfully.
"I'm not used to a pack, my roommate only had her parents and siblings often over," she doubts. “They might not like meeting a human. I know that werewolves are secretive about their existence and not really interested in human interference.” She taps her fingers thoughtfully against her chin. The Gamma falls for her act. “Yes, it is forbidden to shift in front of humans. But luckily, you already know a family of werewolves and I don't think you will shy away from us again. And of course, you are welcome in Midnight Moon”, he replies softly, watching the woman sideways.
Gamma Clark is indeed very charmed by the beauty next to her. He hasn’t met his fated mate yet, so he has plenty of room to play with the willing human for a while. She says to only stay for a few days, which will serve him well. He's up for a fling with no strings. “But you haven't told me your name yet. Beautiful lady, what's your name?" he asks the woman, flirty.
She extends a hand to him and he shakes it. “You can call me Alcina, Clark. And on second thought, I gladly accept your offer to stay in your pack”, she states with glistening eyes. “Actually, I'm looking forward to being in a real werewolf pack. My girlfriend told me so much about the close family you all are and now I can see and experience it all for myself. Provided, of course, that you give me a tour and take me to the hottest club there.” All this sounds like music to the Gamma's ears. Arriving at the crowded club with a beautiful woman will give him a lot of prestige. He can already envision all those jealous remarks of the men.
They drive on while chatting about all kinds of things.
Till they eventually reach the enormous gates of Midnight Moon an hour later. Beta Jace stands there with a little girl on his arm. “Hi Jace, this is Alcina. She will stay in the packhouse for a few days. After she settles in, I give her a short tour and then we go to the club," said the Gamma, Jace. "I hope to see you there."
Jace bows his head to see the visitor in the car.
When his eyes clash with Alcina's, his instincts go on alert.
He also feels the little girl squeezing his hand tighter as if she was startled by something. “Okay, Gamma. Don't forget that she has to fill out the visitors’ form. No exceptions,” he reminds Clark. He intends to read it later to find out the identity of this mysterious woman. Although her scent is of a human, there is a haze of evil over her. Jace suspects Clark misses this because he was too much into the woman.
“Of course, Jace. Do not worry. And I'll see you later at the club."
With those words, the Gamma drives Alcina into the pack...
